Yea dmc2 is awesome and the best it didn't received the reception backintheday like it has nowadays 🙄 we gotta lot of frauds and fake gamers that claim the like dmc alot of things the dmc series has its because of dmc2

    • @javarousfrazier398

Yo I got a question why dmc2 is the middle in chronologically if dmc 5 dante only has sin devil trigger when he stabs himself in their old/parents mansion

    • @1Synner
      @1Synner Год назад +6

@@javarousfrazier398 The DMC3 manga actually answers that to a degree.
If Dante is under a colossal amount of stress and loses his will to hold back his demonic powers, he'll enter a form that goes far beyond his normal devil trigger. In DMC3's manga, it's an unnamed Form. In DMC2, if you are low health with enough DT in the bar, you enter the majin form, or the Desperation Devil Trigger (and considering the chronology, it was at the lowest point of his life, so he's under a considerable amount of emotional stress at the time from the get go). Both of these instances were honestly just his true power, but wildly untamed and hard to actually use effectively.
In DMC5, the fusion of Sparda and Rebellion inside of Dante allowed him to achieve his true power that was previously held back nigh-permanently. Now he can just activate it at will. No stress required.

DMC 1 was my first game, my dad had a PS2 and i was very young. Every week he would pop into cash converters to see what games they had cheap and one day he just picked it up from cash converters. This was roughly 3 years after the release of DMC1. Must have only been 9/10 years old. I played it with my dad as at that age i couldnt understand what was going on. Then from there it was just a good memory to have playing the series for the first time. Over time i just stumbled towards getting DMC2 and 3 next.

DMC1 was my first introduction to the series. I bought it at a local CD place on Halloween eve and when I fired up the disc in my PS2 I instantly fell in love. The art style, the Gothic scenery, the gameplay, and soundtrack all blew me away.

I played the 3rd when I was younger. Couldn't beat it for years because of Beowulf and Vergil and because I was just bad. Now I am a big fan, playing the 5th alot and bought the Collection 1-3. I still need to play 1 and complete 4. I personally would recommend starting with the 3rd one even though it's hard but it keeps you up for more

    Well, long story short:
It was 2018 and I saw some of the E3's gameplay footage of Resident Evil 2 remake (it will make sense, I promise). It was a Claire playthrough, where she was exploring the RPD and chased by Mr.X. Seeing the movement of the character and having the feeling someone's chasing me, it was such a mindblowing thing that I couldn't ignore, despite I hadn't even touched any RE game. January 2019 and the game is in my hands. It was the first and the best survival horror moment I've ever witness in my whole gaming life and after I've finished most of the franchise, it's still the first in my heart!
...Then it comes out another CAPCOM game...: Devil May Cry 5.
Oh lord, this was also my entry to the DMC franchise and became unforgettable, as well as RE 2 remake was my first RE game ever!
Both games made me play the whole DMC and RE series. Except DmC and RE 5/6 and some other RE spin-offs.
These games, ladies and gentlemen, were the best to introduce me of two of the best franchises in gaming history!

I got into the DMC series less than a year ago after I finished playing Metal Gear Rising and wanted to play more Character action Hack n Slash games. I originally intended to only play DMC 5SE, but after listening to Bury The Light and became more interested in the DMC series, I ended up getting the DMC HD collection and DMC 4SE during my first Steam Sale. I started off with Devil May Cry 3 SE and I struggled a lot during my first time playing it, but I managed to get through the game and beat the last Vergil boss fight and it's what got me hooked into the series and helped me step out of my comfort zone to play more challenging games. So far I've finished 4SE and 5SE, and still plan to play 1, 2 and Reboot.

I first played DMC1 when I was a sophomore in high school. I thought it was awesome, but also hard as hell, easily one of the most difficult games I had experienced up until then. I later played DMC2, and I actually didn't hate it. The less stiff feeling controls, instant dodge button, and additional stick combos were nice improvements. I enjoyed the game overall, but not nearly as much as the first one. I think everyone playing the series for the first time should afford DMC2 one full playthrough so that they can form their own opinion on it, especially since you can easily get the first three games as a package deal. A year later I played 3 and absolutely loved it. That game is so GOATED man, definitely one of my favorites of all time. I plan to eventually get the switch version and original non-special edition just because I love it so much. I actually haven't played 4 or 5 yet because I've spent so much time trying to 100% 1 and 3(DMC2 s rank without infinite dt is awful).

First moment when I got excited about Dmc was during Sony's June Playstation Showcase in 2020 when Dmc 5 SE was announced. That trailer and Bury the Light especially was so cool so I searched about the series in the net and ended up buying the HD collection and started with Dmc 3 and then 1. After a year I bought Dmc 5 SE and what a game, really conflicted which is better 3 or 5. To this day I've never started 2 and only scratched 4 but I'm planning to change that. Really happy to have experienced this series!

Bought 1-5 (and DmC) on Steam this year. Started with DMC 1 and love it. The gameplay is amazing to me and the graphics, being as old as me, look great still. I also like that you can backtrack from almost anywhere to pick up an item you missed earlier, for example: I was on my DMD save and missed a blue orb shard in the beginning so I picked it up when I got back to that point again.
I'm in the middle on DMC 2 right now and I hate that everything I learned from DMC 1 got scrapped and dumbed down.

I started with 5 after I watched gameplay of it and wanted to play it. My uncle had every Devil May Cry including the reboot, (The Dmc 1, 2 and 3 that I played was the Hd Collection) and he bought it for me after I asked him, I played it and had a blast, though, I was still new to the combat system since I’ve never played combat games when I was younger. Needless to say, I’m glad I played Devil May Cry, I got to watch so many fun characters, amazing story and stylish gameplay, even if it can be a bit messy in certain games, its managed to vastly improve my skills like hand-eye coordination, reaction time and memory, and I’ve appreciated and loved Dmc ever since

When I was younger, admired DMC from afar, but couldn’t play until about the DmC reboot. My first DMC mainline was 5. Played 1, 2 (well, an hour of it), 3, and 4 after. I will say I’m a bit more open to people starting with 5, as it does a good summary of what has happened before, so you can go with the other games if you want to, which is what I did. However, I do also agree with you that starting with 1 is the most ideal, as all the games mechanically build on one another chronic logically.

Long time DMC fan here. I started way back when my friend rented Resident Evil: Code Veronica X, which came with a demo disk for DMC1. We played the SHIT out of that, despite the demo ending just before the Nelo Angelo fight (which meant we went back and forth between rooms quite a bit).
After that, I ended up playing DMC2 (a rental), because I couldn't find DMC1 where I was and I was desperate for more... ended up getting quite a bit less, though I ended up growing a soft spot for Lucia. Still one of my favorite underrated characters of all time.
I was then FINALLY blessed with DMC1 and played the shit out of that. Years later I would get 3, 4 with my PS3, SLOGGED through the reboot, Play the shit out of 4 SE with the new characters and LDK mode, and would pick up the collectors edition of DMC5 brand new day 1 (really proud of that last one).
My personal jump in points would be thus:
If you're more for chronology and story, then you should definitely start with DMC3 (while DMC5 is the second best in story, I definitely think chronology is a key factor). You can ignore 2 cause it's inconsequential, and the reboot as it doesn't follow the series at all anyway.
If you're more for Gameplay, it should be DMC5 or 1 for your first. Five is perhaps the most accessible with the best set of enemies and bosses in the entire series with four playable characters. 1 is the more basic, more methodical of the series, but perhaps the most beginner friendly while still providing a decent challenge.
If you're looking for base challenge, then start with 3 (especially the vanilla version)

I did start with the original Devil May Cry, but initially rage quitted against the enemy at the end of Mission 6. I originally wasn’t having that much fun with the game. So I jumped straight into Devil May Cry 3 instead. I actually finished Devil May Cry 3 first because I’ve found the combat way more polished, and I was just having way more fun with the game. But regardless, because the game was still kicking my ass, I actually finished it on Easy Mode first. And after a few months, I decided I was ready to take on Normal Mode and managed to pull through. I ended up doing the same thing with Devil May Cry 1 and 4. And that’s when I truly considered myself a fan of the series.

If I’m recommending to a friend I’ll usually just tell them to try 1 and see how it goes. Pretty much everyone is playing via the hd collection these days so there’s no reason not to try. Highly recommend playing in release order as going back to the old games even after beating them is a major shift in playstyle. Also i dont think i could have beaten the reboot if i played 5 first. anyway while im not planning on 100%ing dmc4 or 5 (especially 4) anytime soon i might 100% the hd collection as the achievements are fairly straight forward and dont demand too much apart from s ranking every mission on at least one of the difficulties and beating the game on harder difficulties.

I got my start with 4SE back in 2017. I knew about Dante and Vergil thanks to UMvC3, but what would often come up is how people wanted Nero to be in a Marvel vs. Capcom game due to his demon arm. I was like, "who the hell is Nero? He sounds pretty cool." I then saw DMC4:SE was on sale on Xbox Live for relatively cheap, and I decided to buy it. I was amazed at how replayable it was and how satisfying everything felt. I was hooked super hard. Just a few months later, 5 would be announced, and I would cop the rest of the games to prepare for it. Rest is history.

Even my parents thought the game was cool. So I started with the Xbox One Demo and later on, the full game. Afterwards, I bought the Vergil DLC for $4.99, and Son of Sparda, that was the greatest $5 I've ever spent. I ended up maining Vergil since. A few months passed and I got Devil May Cry 3: Special Edition for the Switch. Sometimes I invited some of my friends to play Bloody Palace with me thanks to the Co-Op system. Now, as I'm 13, I'm feeling a little M O T I V A T E D to finish all the Devil May Cry games. And yes... that includes Devil May Cry 2 and DmC: Devil May Cry.

I played the games in a kinda weird order. I played 1, then gave up on 2 after I crashed halfway through the game. I then played some of 3, then completed 4, and now I alternate between playing 3, 4, and 5.

I think most games in the series would be a fine place to start. Personally I started with 4 and loved it, but I actually think that's one of the worse places to start.
I think 3 and 5 are probably the best for a newcomer though. They are some of the best parts of the series, and have the least negative points. 3 being a prequel helps it out a lot for story simplicity too. Although it can be pretty tough, and being locked to a single Style could be a hurdle. So going for the Switch version with Free Style mode might be a good idea. The story for 5 might be a bit confusing for newcomers, but it has that great story recap to help people catch up. It also doesn't have the difficulty spikes of 3, so that makes it good for a newcomer as well. And of course with modern graphics and polish, it doesn't require you to acclimate to old visuals and the slightly stiff/awkward controls the PS2 games could sometimes have.
Going for 1 isn't a bad idea either. I think that point about starting at the beginning so you don't miss improvements from later games is a significant thing, but also having the most simple form of the mechanics helps people get their head around the basics more easily. The reboot is definitely pretty approachable too, as it was designed to be welcoming to newcomers of course. But I think playing that one first could set up inaccurate expectations for the rest of the series. It's best appreciated as an alternate take, rather than the introduction to everything else.
And even though I said 4 isn't a great point to start, I don't think it's a terrible idea either. As I said, it got me hooked after all. Nero was also designed to be an easier character to understand for new players than Dante, so that's a point in its favour. It also has more modern presentation and control feel than the PS2 games. I don't think there's any argument for 2 though. It doesn't really have any points in its favour for any type of person. I think every DMC fan should play it at least once though, like as a research project to understand the history of the series and to give context for what came after. But as a game to actually enjoy from any perspective? Nah.

If I had to really think about it in terms of story progression and gameplay progression. I would say starting with 3 is pretty safe (Dante’s story and then Virgil’s) and then DmC reeboot, then 4, and then 5. You will still know all the major story beats and the gameplay will have a fluid progression. 1 is just so dated at this point and other than introducing Trish and confusing people about Vergil, the story can easily be overlooked.

I started with DMC1 and found the game to be pretty difficult. By the time I got about halfway through the game I'd been really enjoying it but there were a few really frustrating things about the game. Nobodies took about 20 seconds to actually disappear after you killed them making mission 21 a huge pain for me, and since the games was, in terms of DMC3, yellow, many stages were just annoying to get through because of the long animation after a death. And then there was the first phase of the final boss where it seemed like it would be a good idea to make the player play an entirely different game. I enjoyed it when I was done but u wasn't really hooked with the series.
Luckily I was playing the HD collection and began playing DMC3. I preffered 1 for a lot of my playthrough but once I got closer to the end I absolutely loved the game. In fact when I woke up one morning with only mission 19 and 20 left I went and beat those, and the first thing I did after beating the game was picking vergil, on hard mode, and beat the game for a 2nd time in that one sitting. It was then that the series started to become something I really loved, having finished DMC 1 and 3 about 6 or 7 times each before I bought the reboot and stopped playing about halfway through. Eventually I got to buying 5 and think it's probably my favourite. I don't think there's anything about DMC5 that I don't like, other than the fact that the 2nd half of the game is a bit boring in terms of setting, since almost every mission after 10 is inside the qlipoth.
Also I have played DMC2 and finished it although I somehow found it the hardest game in the series.

Is "reboot > 3 > 4 > 5" a good playtrough? As in story. Because I played the reboot before the first one. I didn't know it wasn't canon. Now i don't want to go back and "re-start" the story. (not even want to try the 2nd)

I started with Devil May Cry on PS2. I skipped 2 and then played all the other games as they got released. I eventually played 2 after DMC 5 and while it definitely was the worst in the series, it wasn't as bad as people made it out to be. It's playable, but not memorable. I loved DMC3 but felt it was extremely difficult on the harder settings and was the most frustrating of them all. I invested the most time into Devil May Cry 4 on X360. That is the only game in the series I completed 100%...it helped that I was unemployed at the time 😅 DMC reboot was absolutely incredible. I love it for what it is, just that...a reboot. I loved the new Dante and the gameplay was easily the best so far especially when it got released proper on PC. What really sold me on this game was the music by one of my favorite DJ/Producers Noisia. What they did with the soundtrack was nothing short of spectacular. I spent a good chunk of time (100+ hrs) on DMC5 and thought it was the most approachable out of all the games in the series.

I actually started with Dmc 4 but never took the serious seriously until (yes im going to say it) the Reboot. I loved the vibe that the reboot gave and the combat system made me fall in love but I understood that the game made people rage so I went back and played 4 and had a fairly good experience but didn’t fall in absolute love till I played Devil May Cry 3.

I started with DMC5, just wanted to meet this Vergil guy everyone was memeing about, fell in love instantly, then went to DmC, i thought the story and dialogue sucked, but i don't play games for those things, i actually really love the reboot, 3 and 4 didn't really stick to me since 5 was them but better, DMC1 was something i wasn't expecting to get addicted to, it's simple but so good!
My rankings are: DMC5, DmC, DMC1, DMC 4 and DMC3

Honestly I’d say just start with 1 since it’s easily available on everything. 3 takes place first, but it assumes you played 1 in a lot of places, which is the case in most prequels honestly.

Maybe 3, 4, 1 and 5? 5's plot is predictable, but there are some references you only get from playing the other games. You can play 1 after 5 if you watch the story recap and knows what happens to Vergil in DMC 1. I also recommend deadly fortune and visions of v before 5 for a whole experience.

No lie my first game was DMC5, i played the demo and loved it to the point where i played it over and over, watch RUclips channels on the games to the point on spoiling the entire series for myself till i saved up enough money to buy the full game
Then i ended up buying all the other games in the series and playing them in completely random order. I also made both my little brothers fall in love with the series
Now it is our favorite game franchise of all time
My order for best to worst game in the franchise is:
DMC5, DMC3, DMC4, DmC, DMC1, DMC2 (note: DmC and DMC1 usually swap spots depending on how i feel about those games on a certain day but it usually looks like this most of the time)
