Then came ChatGPT, an AI chatbot that has gone viral, becoming the fastest-growing app with 100 million active users just two months after launching. Technology reporter Chris Stokel-Walker explains how the latest chatbots could jeopardise the careers of anyone who interprets information and generates written reports or commands.

If Super General AI can "self accelerate" it may get so fast that the physical world would appear painfully slow. A bit like us trying to have a conversation with a tree.
In which case, with no-one to talk to, could AI ultimately go insane?
wow are you serious? get off the internet for a day. the time moves exactly the same.
AI isn't alive, how can it go insane?
I am a french teacher, and i think that there are already resources developed by artificial intelligence that can replace my job.
no. you'll be fine. people need to speak to other humans to understand language. also the desire to learn it. if anything your job is safer than ever.
@@dallassegno lol duolingo already has a new ai feature where you talk to an ai, so that you can learn conversing in the language you want to learn, and it tells you what you did wrong and how to fix it

Reminds me of the 1970 movie “Colossus:The Forbin Project” An American super computer designed to eliminate war teams up with its Soviet counterpart, and they mutually decide who better to run the world than us.
except ai has an iq of zero and people/politics are changing so rapidly it would be highly unlikely i will ever understand gibberish.
@@dallassegno if a computer that works 24/7 and has access to the world wide web can't keep up with politics then what makes you think a human can?
There is a argument for replacing politicians
with something less easy to buy off
and is arguably more intelligent.
An automaton that reads platitudes off a teleprompter?
We've had that technology for a couple of years, it finds stairs troublesome though...

Yay, more models that bring you lockdown to look forward too, AI is not replacement for politicians as can be used in their favor as AI not perfect, it miss many times a lot of variables that a human mind could take into considering if actually use your brains.
And that you would see that as final and too be always correct because is more "intelligent" is a very very bad and dangerous combination
@@Budanevey The middle class is a manifestation of Artificial Intelligence already.
Those Boston Dynamics droids will soon be as ubiquitous as self-checkouts in supermarkets...

Was this little video report produced by ChatGPT?
Welcome Sybil system

I for one welcome our new ai overlords.

No.
Thank you for attending my TED Talk!

universal basic income is basically the only choice left. I have seen how Chatgpt answers some very difficult medical question, and my professor was blown away. He thinks the answer AI gave back is almost perfect. You have to understand that chatgpt is not specially trained in the medical field yet. If the developers want, AI can totally replace most doctors. BTW, there was a Chinese AI team that used a robot to do dental surgery earlier. The only job that robots/AI can't replace is the scientists who feed new data to the AI.
You still need human can verify whether the answers AI was giving are correct. AI still makes mistakes.
Yes now you need like 1 or 2 senior instead of a whole team of 20 people. The job market is going to get destroyed within 10 years maybe sooner
@@hf2943 literally this. People don't understand that a society with so many people not working is gonna be fudged
lol if it comes into the guardian it won't be intellegence it's replacing
Ask anyone alive if they think that life was better before the internet and most will say yes. Enough said?
I'm afraid that AI is not like all previous technologies, at least because it can learn.
short answer, NO aaahahahahaha
I hope so.... LOL
(AI) has the potential to automate many jobs, but it's difficult to say whether it will come for your job specifically. Some jobs are more susceptible to automation than others, depending on the nature of the work and the skills required.
Jobs that involve repetitive tasks or manual labor are more likely to be automated in the near future. For example, jobs in manufacturing, data entry, and transportation are already being transformed by AI and automation. On the other hand, jobs that require creativity, emotional intelligence, and critical thinking are less likely to be automated.
However, it's important to note that AI is not a replacement for human intelligence and skills. While AI can automate certain tasks, it cannot replace the unique abilities and perspectives that humans bring to the workplace. In many cases, AI is being used to augment human capabilities and enable workers to focus on more complex and strategic tasks.
Overall, the impact of AI on jobs will depend on the specific industry and occupation. It's important to stay informed about the potential impact of AI on your field and to develop skills that are in demand in the current and future job market.
Creative jobs are at a high risk of being affected
