Hello everyone!! I am so excited to share this updated 2021 version of my harp cover of Midnas Lament from The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess.
I originally played this game on the Nintendo Wii some time after its dual release on the wii and GameCube, and man, I was blown away by that game. I remember being totally amazed by the graphics in the opening cutscene 😂 These days they don't look as impressive but I really loved it back then. Actually, Twilight Princess became my favourite Zelda game until Breath of the Wild came out in 2017.
And then of course, Midna's Lament is one of the most impactful songs on the soundtrack ;_; I remember being so upset as wolf link, trying to help our poor Princess Midna...
It makes sense then, that this was one of the first songs I ever covered on my channel, and you can watch the original from 2013 here: • Midna's Lament - Harp ...
I have learned a LOT about recording and mixing harp since then, and I'm quite happy with how this has turned out! I think the audio visualizer looks pretty neat too, at some point I'd love to make a music video for this but for now I wanted to just get it out fast so you can hear it sooner :)

Hello everyone!! I am so excited to share this updated 2021 version of my harp cover of Midna's Lament from The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess.
I originally covered this track waaaaay back in 2013 and it feels so good to have a re-recorded version of this. At some point I'd like to make a music video for this track but for now I wanted to make an audio visualizer video so you can listen to it sooner!

the harp makes things less desperate, like its playing when midna is reminiscing about that desperate hour, and lamenting not the moment, but that she'll never see link again. has vibes of "let me play you a lullaby, young one"

Beautiful- sends chills down the spine with the memories. This is coming from someone who's got very deep ties to twilight princess having 100% completed the game at least 5 times. This tune never sounded great on my ocarina since you can't do the background concurrently.

I never heard many of the originals of these covers cause I never played a Zelda game but that doesn't take away from the beautiful playing. Great job once again.

I'm just on my way home after a stressful day, it's way too cold outside and listening to your performance of this tune on the way was really soothing! Your sound is so beautiful!
If I may offer one small piece of constructive criticism, I think the accompaniment is supposed to change a bit each time when Midna's theme comes in, so that there is a major 6 instead of a 7 in the chord (e.g. at 0:10). It's a small thing but I think it could create a nice difference in color and mood between the Hyrule field melody and Midna's theme! Sorry for the nit-pick, I can't help myself 😅 But I thoroughly enjoyed your performance!

Was the original made with a harp? Both the regular midna's lament and your cover sound super similar (with the exception of some violins)
