After the 2-5-1 at the beginning, does the key change from A to D? And what the hell is this "Abm7b5-Db7b9-F#m11" progression??? It's a 2-5-1 but how does the first chords sound good?? And does the key change again?
It would be easier to unbderstand if written as G#m7b5 C#7b9 F#m11

Very nice. I love the I - IV - I start and then straight into a II - V - I in D. Puts me to the test straight away :-) And then followed with a B major to the V chord in A major (perfect cadence back to A) The nice thing is you have it all connected musically which is fantastic. I dunno how to solo, I just mess around with the scale. Any tips or is this something you "play from your heart and soul"?

Play chord tones and arpeggios related to the chord you're playing over. But also smooth it out with the other notes of the scale(s)
