Please be nice to Wolfy in the comments, he's very shy on camera... We had to edit this a lot because there was a lot of dead air and he constantly swears (he says it's a Scottish thing) 🤣 If you have seen my newer videos, you can see he is starting to feel better about being on camera, thanks to lots of your encouragement.
You and Wolfy sound so much like me and my husband. The nerdiness and my husband's ability to make me laugh. We had a cheap medieval wedding. My husband would never allow me to video him so Wolfy's willingness to do this is wonderful.
You two are adorable. The look on his face when you were trying to get him to say more for the intro is how I feel every time someone asks me to share a "fun fact" about myself in a group setting.
This was so lovely to watch. I met my husband at a train station in London after a gig, I lived at the other end of the country and after chatting on the train we exchanged numbers. We kept chatting “long distance” (not as long as you guys!) and 6 months later I moved across the country to be with him, whilst only 230 miles it was a culture shock so it must have been quite the difference for you moving country. This year we celebrated 15 years together so it was obviously meant to be, sometimes a chance encounter when you’re not even looking for someone can be just what we need ;)
Thank you both for sharing this video I loved it and smiled all the way through. I had started watching your video’s about a week ago and have watched lots of them because I liked your personality Sarah. Since watching this one I’m I right in thinking your birthday is 27 February since you said you met the day after your birthday. My birthday is 27 February too. I often find I like and get on well with other people who are Pisces too. So that made me smile. I also have been to Inverness before Covid happened. First to a wedding and the second time for an art retreat when I was struggling with other things going on in my life and I needed to chill out and get away from it all. Scotland is a beautiful place. I am trying to get myself into the habit of doing some art every day even if it’s very short. I have an MA in Children’s book Illustration but I’ve not done anything with it because it’s not what feeds my soul. I continue to work at a ‘proper job’ 😂 to pay the bills but it would be nice to be able to just do my art. The art I do is just for me and I’m lucky that I don’t have to make it pay to live. You are inspiring me. Thanks again and I will continue to watch with pleasure. Wolfe looks like a thoroughly nice guy, he’s a keeper. Marilyn
It was great to hear your story Sarah and Wolfy. I wish you both a very long, happy, healthy fulfilling life together and I think the wedding photos in Scottish dress are beautiful. What lovely memories 🙏❤️🐈🐈⬛
So there really is magic in the world and you two together are the living proof. Loved your video and watching your chemistry and hearing your stories. Thanks for sharing!!! I had a smile the entire time.
I am cracking up already. Shaun's comment comparing men and women telling a story does smack of truth lol. And love the eyebrow and facial expressiveness . You two are adorable.... oh just realized that was credited to dave chappelle. Still funny and true
Wow what a story! You two are hilarious. So glad you found each other. It was obviously meant to be. You're both adorable. Your wedding ceremony looked very unique. Wishing you many happy years together.
Shaun you have some seriously stellar hair! I mean like, hair goals for guys. Thanks for sharing your sweet story. Sarah, I felt that same pull in my soul when I visited Scotland a few years ago and can't wait to return to see more of it. Glad I found your channel and that you found each other. 💙🏴
Gives new meaning to it was meant to be. We must remember that an artist is a detail person…it’s in our DNA. You all have done a great job of blending….keep it up, time flies.
You two are a match made in Heaven! God bless you both and congratulations on your marriage and wishes for a very happy and successful life together! 😊
I'm finally watching this video after watching your recent, longer Q+A video and my gosh! You two are absolutely amazing together! I couldn't stop smiling the entire time! And his message to you... saying how he hopes he'll see you again! Ughhhh... so romantic! Lol... I'm 44 and very old school about love stories and yours didn't disappoint! Cheers to a lifetime of love together for you both!
Sarah! I just discovered your channel. I so love your whimsical quantum entanglement I am trying to find a job and move to Inverness myself. I’ve been on solo trips twice a year for the past years with high hopes of meeting a Scottish man and life partner So happy for you both Scotland feels more like home than any place in the planet. The pull to move there is real! 😊
Your love story warmed the cockles of my heart! (Is that a Scottish phrase??). Wolfy is the funniest man! I love a dry sense of humor, and his is perfection. He is also quite handsome to your natural beauty, Sarah. Such a lovely couple, and so well matched in every way. True love (from the Princess Bride). I am like Wolfy, in that, I too have more compassion for animals that I do for people. I think because animals just don’t understand when they are hurt or in pain, and can’t help themselves. I was dying laughing at the Titanic part! Anyway, everyone deserves someone who will lick their forehead to snap them out of a funk! He is your lobster! (Quote from Phoebe, from Friends).
Great video love your story of how you met, the love you have for each other shines through in this video. My husband and I met via an ad in the newspaper we then phoned and sent letters then met in person. 21 years later we are still happily married. Definitely keep making each other laugh, it’s the key.
Sorry i'm late in responding! YT marked it as spam. That's amazing you met through the newspaper!! Is that like the original version of a dating app? So happy for you!
Thanks for this guys! Really enjoyed hearing how you got together. You have a special bond and share a crazy sense of humour just like I do with my husband. Would love to share stories over a pint or two! if you ever want to explore the South Wales coast get in touch! I have learned so much about art from you and love your videos of the glorious Scottish countryside, I look forward to each new episode. Slices of your life are a real boost to morale in the current situation, you are so generous. Wishing you all the best, take care of each other x.
Sarah (and Wolfy) I’ve always enjoyed your art videos and wondered how you were living in Scotland and married! Your stories were so much better then I could have imagined. I loved Scotland when I was there in 98, been back to England but not Scotland, I watch videos, love the scenery, such beauty! Wish you both lifelong happiness and love! Love from San Diego, love Mexican food too!
I tried to watch you guys while having my dinner and almost chocked on my food when Wolfy started to mimic a woman's voice. I think I'll be back later. I wish to survive my dinner. 🤣💖
Loved hearing your story, your connection is clear to see and looks like you’ve adapted well to the Scottish sense of humour 😂 look forward to the comparison of words next 🥰
Loving this story. It's basically the inverse of me and my Canadian partner. I was Scottish Australian. My partner was Scottish Canadian. We lived in Canada, Scotland and Australia.
Never loose your humor!!!! Sarah, the way Wolfy makes you laugh ...you will find is the greatest gift you will ever know. I suffer from depression and anxiety as well and my husband avoids me. Cherish what you have in each other 💞
I have been very fortunate in my life to have found “my other half” too. I wish this for everyone the whole world over…to experience the kind of love you share for one another. Thanks for this charming video. Such real-ness is a rare thing in today’s world.
Super nice to see you "au naturel". Truly enjoyed this video. Very entertaining and so happy you are together. It starts with a simple hello and look at you too now! May you have many many years to enjoy each other. It was worth the painful process of the Visa. Be blessed!
Such a fun Q&A. I've been through this whole process myself. My husband is from Sweden and moved to the US. The long distance was rough. We visited each other several times before his K-1 Visa finally went through, and oh my gosh the financial drain! I don't wish the whole process on my worst enemy. We'll soon be celebrating our 5 year anniversary. You two seem very happy and lucky to have found each other 💙
You both are made for each other. I loved listening to you. Love your humour, love Scotland. Quantum entanglement- perfect definition and so fitting. Thank you for sharing your videos - I find them so relaxing and inspirational.
Wow this is so similar to what I did. Except I met my husband online 22 years ago and I'm Australian. 1 n half years after on lining I came to Scotland for 6mths on the visitation visa to see how things would go with us. Went home managed to get a 2 year work visa, then stayed and got the next partner visa, then waited the next 4 years and go the remained to leave visa. lol The hell of Visa. It really was hell. You had to save so much and so many personal questions and images to show in the interview. It was all so emotional because you just don't know. This video really made me smile all through, it's truly beautiful. Thank you so much for sharing.
I only recently discovered your channel. I love (making) art and I love Scotland so this is such a perfect mix of content :) So I thought, let's watch this video to get to know you a bit more and now, well, I am just thoroughly impressed by Shaun's freaking hair and beard!!
Thank you for this amazing video - love to hear your story and seeing you together, you guys are sooo cute! I totally feel the struggle with visa and being from different countries - I am from Denmark and my husband is from Brazil, we met in India and it's almost impossible to get a visa any where 🙈 So nice to get to know you guys some more. Hope there's gonna be a part 2 😍🙏🏼
I’ve been loosely following you Sarah for a year or so; it was all about the art (yours is exquisite). Lately I’ve been wondering what would take an American all the way to Scotland (other than the obvious - IT’S BEAUTIFUL) ? Now I know. I must confide I have become a REAL fan, I think it’s time for me to become a patron! Tell Shaun, he has me pondering Quantum Entanglement. Love the video ❤️
I am still so happy for you guys, that you found each other and that your love still is strong! I love you guys and I am glad that you are my friends! Hopefully I can see you again soon! I miss you!
So great to watch your journey through this whole experience. like you Sara I live in Colorado, Longmont to be exact and work in Boulder although I'm originally from New Jersey, long long story. Also an artist and met my soul mate on IG and he commissioned me to come to Scotland to paint him a picture, I do abstract work. I went for two weeks this past September into October and halfway through it was a done deal. We are now in the process of the whole visa thing. I love Scotland, so magical and I love him more and its mutual! I really appreciate watching your videos, they help me keep my head in the process. I will return to Scotland the beginning of January and I cannot wait to be there and dread having to leave but know that one day in 2024 I will be able to stay!! Thanks again for sharing your experience and knowledge.😊
This is too cuuuuuute!!! I love both of our random little stories ending up with the man we love haha. Arx pokes a finger up my nose when I have a panic attack, or licks my nose, seems to be a British/Scottish thing LOL. The accent is just lovely though. Arx turns a bit Scottish when he's angry lol. I already knew the story but it's nice to hear it and together with Shaun! It's funny too how both of our little stories started the same year :o Arx never lets me be mad either and it's INFURIATING LOL
Thank you so much for sharing your story and telling us more about you two! ❤️ I laughed SO HARD when you played the clip of "My Heart Will Go On"! It's a hard song to play on the flute! It takes sooooo much breath to play those long notes! (I did a duet on the piano with my friend on the flute. She HATED me for picking this song!) My hubby likes to make me laugh when I'm sad or angry too. It is very annoying, cuz you just need to feel the feels sometimes.
Glad you both randomly met! You guys are perfect for each other. Oh, speaking of financially crippling, if you decide to have children, please do the math first. If you don’t, they’ll probably end up being born in February!😂 Really enjoyed the video and looking forward to your next art adventure!
@@sarahinscotland Oh yes. Absolutely. I have a whole bookshelf dedicated to Tolkien... I used to collect different editions of LotR and The Hobbit and I still love this collection though I don't add any new editions anymore. I also love my books about the Middle-earth related artwork from Tolkien himself as well as from Alan Lee and John Howe. I think I was 15 when the first LotR movie came out and ever since then I have loved the movies and the books. :-) (I just checked and yes, it's been precisely 20 years!)
You both fit together like two pieces of puzzle. Be always like two playingcards that lean together to a triangle. So never one of you can fall down, if the other holds you. ❤❤❤ love is so beautiful if you have the right person by your side. With me and my man it is the same. I love to see you both.
Okay, finally finished. First of all, the last few seconds should be the channel intro, that's for sure! 🤣👌 Secondly, I wish you would do this more often. It felt so real like I was sitting across a table and talking with you guys. Sometimes I was shouting at the screen like "Let him finish his sentence!!!! Let him speak for himself!!!!"😂 Seriously, I wish you a long, loving and happy life together, from all my heart! ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜 And I'm really grateful for these small glimpses of your private life. Love and joy radiates from you and I'm sure I'm not the only one whose mood was elevated tremendously by the end. Can't wait for the next one. 😊
Omg 🤣🤣 seriously I had to edit SO much out unfortunately. Since he isn't used to talking to the camera, he would mumble incoherently, or take 20 minutes to say a single sentence 🤣 at some point I just had to step in and get the words out. But overtime it will be easier for him. We definitely will do more chats.
This made me laugh so much! Loved watching this video! The story on how you guys met was so cute. Also, I get very emotional watching movies or shows as well ( sad or happy parts).
I agree with him about the importance of knowing how to drive well. I live in a town on the Westcoast of Canada and the amount of bad drivers here are nuts especially when it snows or rains. I believe there is a RUclips channel called Richmond drivers or Richmond BC driving, that demonstrates it perfectly. Loved the video and became a subscriber.
This was a lovely little journey, thanks for sharing it with us (for some reason I imagined the train ride being like the Hogwart Express - when you mentioned the food cart I immediately wondered if there were pumpkin pasties 🤣). I also moved to another country (Australia to the US) to be with my love, and it totally resonated with me when you guys mentioned that it was just so easy to be around each other - that's how I knew I had to give it a go too ... all good 21 years later 😍
As soon as I get to the part where you talk of panic attacks, I was just taking my meds before bed because I have really bad panic attacks. The medicine has helped me live a normal life. Those attacks are truly scary. It can be triggered for absolutely no reason or it was a reason but you don’t know why. I used to draw all the time. I couldn’t even go a day without drawing at least one thing. I would first need inspiration and then sit down I front of my window for two hours and draw. I would take short breaks to get a drink and back to drawing.
My Dad moved to Aberdeen for work and fell in love with a lovely woman there. His relationship to Aberdeen was much like Sarah's to Scotland. Loved the country hated winter, hated the greyness of the city but eventually fell so in love with it.
You guys are a Beautiful couple 💗 I know what you mean about visa fees. My husband is from the USA and I’m from the Caribbean, It was very expensive. But we have been happily married for 20 years now with 2 beautiful children 😊 best wishes guys 👍🏽
Thank you for both being so generous and sharing your story. As someone who is very much alone, please please know how very blessed you both are. I'm so happy for both of you. Cherish every minute.❤❤ p.s. great job wolfy!
I've just found your channel - you two seem like great people! I'm looking forward to catching up with your other videos and seeing more of the stunning Scottish scenery 😊
Hi Sarah, I loved this video :) So cute! I've been watching you for awhile (not even sure how I found you) but I have loved looking at all the Scottish scenery and you're so down to earth. When I started watching I had no idea that I, also an American, would be moving to Scotland...but now I am. I'm so excited to get to re-watch some of your videos and see all kinds to fun places I should visit. Keep the videos coming!
@@sarahinscotland well, obviously I'm nosey too....I sit around and watch other people tales of their lives on youtube ;) I love the inside peak at others! My husband got transferred for work to the UK and we did not have any particular place we have to be. We've been here since Sept traveling around staying in Airbnbs looking for a rental. Our intention was to settle in southern England, close to an airport as my husband travels, but.... we drove up to Scotland and were blown away! It's other worldly! We're in Knoydart right now and looking to settle in Aberdeenshire (found a house that fits us, finally!). You guys are outside Inverness, right? I'm planning on driving all over! So many great spots :)
Fantastic video Sarah and Shaun, what a lovely couple.Sarah's reaction to getting her visa was very emotional but lovely to see and the wedding photos were amazing. I wish you both a long and happy life, all the best, Davie. btw subbed.
Loved your story. I went to Aberdeen for a semester abroad (from the States) to study at The Robert Gordon University. It was my dream to go to Scotland. Loved it! I did not however fall in love with a man. Oh, well. Wish I had.
I met my Fiancée on the train commuting to work. We just happen to work down the street from each other in LA. She was in a relationship at when we met and we were just friends for a year until she broke up with her ex and we got together. 4 years later and we are now engaged. Our whole theme is the train and we plan an engagement shoot at a train museum. So cool to see others have a train story lol.
Thank you for sharing your story. I really enjoyed it. I love your channel. I do have a request, if I may, could you by chance show what your town looks like? I may have missed it in one of your video's, if I did could you direct me? Thank you
Please be nice to Wolfy in the comments, he's very shy on camera...

Haha yea...it took me a very long time to get used to it too. And I STILL get deer in the headlights when I talk to someone in person
😂
This was so sweet. I live in Denver/ I'm 63 and I smiled all the way through this.
I miss Denver!

I didn’t expect it but this vid made me proper belly laugh!! Wolfy is hilarious and the relationship you guys have is so adorable
I am cracking up already. Shaun's comment comparing men and women telling a story does smack of truth lol. And love the eyebrow and facial expressiveness . You two are adorable.... oh just realized that was credited to dave chappelle. Still funny and true
Eyebrow power! He's got the expressive faces AND can do really good voice impressions, and imitate almost any accent.
Wow what a story! You two are hilarious. So glad you found each other. It was obviously meant to be. You're both adorable. Your wedding ceremony looked very unique. Wishing you many happy years together.
Thank you Carolyn!

'Quantum Entanglement', just about damn near perfect, Shaun. My wife and I met 24 years ago and that just about perfectly sums it up. Changed my life.
Gives new meaning to it was meant to be. We must remember that an artist is a detail person…it’s in our DNA. You all have done a great job of blending….keep it up, time flies.
Thank you!

This was a joy to listen to as I was making a mess of watercolor. You two are such a great couple! It's easy to see how much you love each other. 💜
😄🥰
Aww your love story is so cute! I enjoyed the video like a romantic movie 💕
You know, I was reading a romance before watching it and YOUR LOVE STORY IS SO MUCH BETTER

Ugh, yea its such a draining process 😭 but since we know we are for real we aren't worried anymore. We just need to save the money.
this is a Wonderful Love story i just met someone who lives in Scotland online I'm truly Smitten with, and hope our tale is as timeless as yours
Aww you met a wee Glasgow lad. What a nice serendipitous journey. 🎉😊🎉
'He's way more compassionate about animals than he is with people.' LOL that's me. 😂
Such a beautiful love story!

I must confide I have become a REAL fan, I think it’s time for me to become a patron! Tell Shaun, he has me pondering Quantum Entanglement. Love the video ❤️
Thank you Debra! I think most people have wondered that at one point or another. I'm honored you've enjoyed my content for so long!
Nice series. Seems to get better as you progress. Thank you.
Thank you. Learning a lot!
I am still so happy for you guys, that you found each other and that your love still is strong! I love you guys and I am glad that you are my friends!
Hopefully I can see you again soon! I miss you!
We miss you too!
Oh wow that's wonderful, congratulations!! As someone who has gone through it, I wish you all the best! Yay for more artists in Scotland :)
Haha really?? They must learn in school that if someone nearby panics you just gotta do something WEIRD 🤣
Thank you so much for sharing your story and telling us more about you two! ❤️
I laughed SO HARD when you played the clip of "My Heart Will Go On"! It's a hard song to play on the flute! It takes sooooo much breath to play those long notes! (I did a duet on the piano with my friend on the flute. She HATED me for picking this song!)
My hubby likes to make me laugh when I'm sad or angry too. It is very annoying, cuz you just need to feel the feels sometimes.
Haha yea that song meme is an instant laugh 🤣 I can't imagine trying to play it any better!
Glad you both randomly met! You guys are perfect for each other. Oh, speaking of financially crippling, if you decide to have children, please do the math first. If you don’t, they’ll probably end up being born in February!😂
Really enjoyed the video and looking forward to your next art adventure!
Never having kids, not a worry for us 😆
I was smiling so much through this! Thank you for sharing your story with us. You have such a wonderful dynamic together :D
So glad you enjoyed it ☺
Loved it Sarah, what a wonderful story! Can't wait for the movie!😉❤👍
🤣
I've heard your love story a couple times on stream, and I don't think I'll ever get bored of it ❤️ thanks for sharing it again
🥰
He is the funniest and I love his scottish accent :-) Also the Silmarillion quote on your ring really is beautiful ❤
Thank you! Are you a LotR fan??
Let him speak for himself!!!!"😂
Seriously, I wish you a long, loving and happy life together, from all my heart!
@@sarahinscotland Indeed. Practice makes the master. You know that yourself. 😉
This was so enjoyable Sarah and Wolfie. Thanks for sharing your story with all of us. Looking forward to the next episode.
This made me laugh so much! Loved watching this video! The story on how you guys met was so cute. Also, I get very emotional watching movies or shows as well ( sad or happy parts).
I love this. Your Copenhagen weekend makes my gramma-heart so happy. 😊
Thanks, guys, so nice to get to know Wolfie a little instead of him just flitting past in the background! Magnificent beard.
I hope he starts to feel more comfortable 😊
Yaaaaaaay!! You are a beautiful couple, love this! ❤️🥰😘🤩👏👍🤗
Thank you so much 🤗
Loved hearing about how you met -- you two are precious together 😊 please tell us more about the visa process--- sounds absolutely crazy!
Yea..that definitely deserves its own video!
Sooooo Sweet you guys! I giggled a lot! Wolfy ever thought about having his own driving school…..he’s pretty passionate about how to drive! 😅😂✨💕🌟
I don't think that would end well...he'd scare off his students 🤣
I agree with him about the importance of knowing how to drive well. I live in a town on the Westcoast of Canada and the amount of bad drivers here are nuts especially when it snows or rains. I believe there is a RUclips channel called Richmond drivers or Richmond BC driving, that demonstrates it perfectly. Loved the video and became a subscriber.
Lovely story 😊
Funny as we also watched Still Game last year before moving to Scotland. Very good 👍
Its so good! I admit I needed subtitles rhe first time I watched it
@@sarahinscotland 🤣
The people we have met have been so friendly and helpful here and my favourite saying is ‘its nae bother’ 🥰
Aww that's awesome to hear! 🥰
Such a beautiful story .beautiful couple.
Happy for you two. What a wonderful story.❤️
I just found your channel and love all the photography/videos you've put out there. This video is great - you guys are so cute and funny!!
Thanks so much! 😊Welcome!
It truly is addictive and therapeutic!
There are worse things to spend time doing
My Dad moved to Aberdeen for work and fell in love with a lovely woman there. His relationship to Aberdeen was much like Sarah's to Scotland. Loved the country hated winter, hated the greyness of the city but eventually fell so in love with it.
Aberdeen is tough...grey grey grey and COLD haha...what a struggle that would be! The countryside around the city is quite beautiful though
I absolutely know how lucky we are to have found each other!
I've just found your channel - you two seem like great people! I'm looking forward to catching up with your other videos and seeing more of the stunning Scottish scenery 😊
Welcome!
You are the cutest couple. Simply adorable. Definitely envious.
😊 thank you
That was beautiful. I teared up a couple times. Glad you have each other. 😊
Omg wow really?? Where are you moving? Why are you moving? 😄 sorry I'm nosey
Lovely, lovely story. Thank your sharing
Fantastic video Sarah and Shaun, what a lovely couple.Sarah's reaction to getting her visa was very emotional but lovely to see and the wedding photos were amazing. I wish you both a long and happy life, all the best, Davie. btw subbed.
Thanks Davie 🥰
Your love definitely shines through both of you. Candy P
Loved your story. I went to Aberdeen for a semester abroad (from the States) to study at The Robert Gordon University. It was my dream to go to Scotland. Loved it! I did not however fall in love with a man. Oh, well. Wish I had.
At least you had a great time 😊
I met my Fiancée on the train commuting to work.
Wow amazing, you just never know!
you had me at elvish. loved this video!
How adorable are you two 😍! Serendipity works in such a funny and mysterious ways.
Wow my Father was Scottish and met my Mother English at an RAF Base at Doncaster. He a PT Instructor she worked in the Naffi .
This video made me cry more than your permanent visa!
Thank you for sharing your story. I really enjoyed it. I love your channel. I do have a request, if I may, could you by chance show what your town looks like? I may have missed it in one of your video's, if I did could you direct me? Thank you
I havent showed it much..it appears in some of my art vlogs
This was hilarious and amazing! You two are fantastic and I’m just cackling watching some of it! Keep that magic 🤣🤣
Haha thank you :)
