Hi, I also had some issues with the 70mai 1S. If you still have it, this seemed to help me: (1) Turn on wifi and connect using the 70mai app, (2) navigate to advanced settings, (3) under Collision sensitivity, change from High (default) to Off, (4) under Auto OFF after stop, change from 20 minutes (default) to Do not turn off automatically. Hope this helps!
@@pill0t That didn't help, but what did help: I replaced the SD card with a faster one. Now I've had zero problems. It never yells at me or does any stupid stuff anymore. No idea how because my old card was supposed to be fast enough but I guess not and it made the dashcam go nuts. Previously I would have told anyone to steer away from this one, but now I can wholeheartedly recommend it. Just get an ultra fast microSD card.
@@jtr159 Thank you! Could you please tell me which type of sd card you bought? or just how fast it read and write :D? I want to give it for a present for christmas.
Hi Dimitri, I began to subscribe and follow your youtube channel after I purchased my Haval 6 just one month ago. I re-plug my old VIOFO dash cam from my old Toyota Camry into my new Haval H6 Ultra with another cable that I found from my PC ( a bit thinner than original one in size) and experienced similar issues you mentioned above( e.g. the dash cam just went on and off and recording randomly and uncontrollable during my driving the next few days ). However, when I replaced back the original VIOFO dash cam cable to the USB port located on the mirror port two days later, everything were back to normal again and now the cam is functioning properly ( although I don't like that VIOFO original cable as it was a bit too long and bulky ) . I am trying to purchase another shorter cable from Alibaba now but I haven't received the shipment yet and thus not able to test if the same issue will come back again after replacing the cable. So I suggest you may try to replace your cable and see if it helps to resolve your problem. Good luck !!
Question, getting my H6 hybrid tomorrow (fingers crossed), I got the Viofo A229 F & rear cam, questions is if the mirror UsB port will power the cam as normal, usually dash cams needs to be powered to 12v cigarette plug, some with USB, but that means the mirror USB delivers more power than a normal USB of 5V or 500mA, ?
Dimitri, a few things you could try 1. Replace the cable 2. Power from one of the lower usb ports rather than the mirror port 3. Test unit in your MG Just a few thoughts that might point to the issue, the camera, the usb port or the car itself. Cheers, Derek.
@@ValueCarsAU I just ordered one because it uses the new Sony Starvis 2 sensor and it appears to be a lot better than the popular brands which use Starvis 1. The issue I'm concerned about is the 4K resolution and supposed heating issue where it auto shuts off. Being in Oz means this could occur quite a lot during our summer days. If you do happen to get one, I'd be interested to know your thoughts on this.
Hi, this video has been very useful to me as I'm looking for a dashcam to buy. I really appreciated the quality of your content, keep up the great work!
How do u normally erase the memory from the sd card? Do you use the reset thing next to the power cable that goes into the camera? Do you painfully remove the SD card from the camera, insert it into your PC and manually delete the videos? We really hate this camera, our SD card got stuck under the seat railing when we were removing it.
Ugh hard to recommend one good way my friend - yeah it's either the unscrew the camera from the hinge, and then have better access to the SD slot to remove the card, OR it's probably not very convenient to fiddle around with it. Alternatively you can erase videos etc by connecting to the camera via WiFi through the app, but I'm not sure if there's an erase all option, or you'd have to do it one video at a time (unlikely, but I'm not sure).
A quick google search gave me the answer. Click the power button 3 times in a row to format the SD card. If you took time to read the instructions that came with the camera you would've known by now. Kind regards.
I tried the lower tier version, which is 70mai dashcam lite, the G-sensor was way too sensitive, it was like it will activate the emergency video recording when i pressed any button on the device. It was really annoying. Eventually i switched to A500 model which is still working fine for m until now.
Hi mate I have the same dashcam with very similar problems mine frequently records emergency video for no reason. Have you had any results resolving this issue?

I want this camera for a reason , i have an idiot neighbour that for sure if its not in front of my house that we have cameras for sure they did vandalised my car , i want it if this can i connected with wifi hotspot ,and if i can connect with a power bank because i don't want to connect with the battery car ,
Not sure if you can connect it to a power bank, but can't see why you wouldn't be able to? As long as the voltage from the power bank is the same as the USB outlet in the car would give you - can't see a problem with that. But if your neighbor is a malicious idiot as you're describing, why not invest into a proper monitoring system e.g. a camera placed on your house that overlooks your front of the house constantly, rather than rely on an only front-facing narrow angle dash cam? Just a thought...

Wasn't planning to, but am open to review products that the companies occasionally offer me to review. Already declined a couple due to low quality.

I've had zero problems with that "lower tier" 70mai in my Jeep, while this one 70mai 1S caused all sorts of issues that annoyed me.

Not really mate, hence the report. I'll try a different cable and see if that solves it.
Are you worried about the batteries in the Aussie heat?
What batteries do you mean? Camera runs of a cable plugged into a USB port, not batteries 🤷♂️

Watching Dash Cams Australia I keep a note of what clip looks clear. Navman is usually clear.
Hmm not something I watch, but I might take a look now
Currently the best cameras are ones using the Sony star is 2 sensor
So What is your recommendation for buying dash cam?
