Yes the color of the D U P B A G Y is beautiful and it is a great decision, maybe one day they will add feet and straps. It would be nice to have a bigger bag during the colder months when we have to store gloves, beanies, scarves, etc…
Exactly it is a typical caribbean market bag style just jazzed up with embroidery and silk piping and inner lining although the bottom and the sides are one continuous piece
Thank you for the easy to follow instructions with measurements. I am working on a bag now and I've noticed that the gusset measurements are not working out. In the video, the width of 22 cm is for the outer layer, with the liner to have a width of 16 cm, which should have 4 cm difference, and then there is a 1 cm fold over. Reality is, 22 cm with a 16 cm liner leaves for 6 cm. I don't have extra fabric to recut the liner, so I'll give a larger cm fold over and see how that works out. Other than that, everything is coming together as expected. Maybe this will save someone else and I expect cutting the liner at 18 cm would make the bag as it is shown.
i want to make this bag. i am planning to quilt the outer fabric using a one-sided adhesive wadding. i will stick the wadding to the inner fabric. then quilt it with the outer fabric. this will attach the inner fabric to the outer one in the same fashion as yours

Nice bag and good instructions. Note: 7:53 " When you reach the corner, raise the presser foot". Spot on but always leave the needle down in the fabric as you swivle. Personally I prefer a flat handle because The seam along this type of handle will "cut" into the hand if you are carrying any weight. Very smart though. Well done.

Thank you so much for this tutorial. The tote bag looks so cute and it would be a bag I would sew for myself and my sisters for sure. The Christian Dior tote bag looks very well made and good quality but it is definitely not worth $3500 dollars. I guess these days designers can slap their names on any product and inflate the price in the name of design and quality. It is absurd and insane in this day and age to pay $3500 dollars for a tote bag that is neither creative nor unique. I wouldn't pay more than $40 dollars for a bag like that.

Indonesian's usually much more packed than Malaysian's and Indonesian's usually with living organism motives like bird, butterfly etc. while Malaysian's usually much more spaced out less packed and usually the motives are of flowers and geometrics. I think Singaporeans have their own batik too since there is Peranakan (a.k.a. Nyonya and Baba, which is the mixed race descendant between the ancient merchant/business man Chinese and the local Malay during Ming Dynasty back in ancient China) but theirs are the most expensive type of all batik I think. Anyways happy holidays and happy shoppings ;)

表まち布の幅のサイズは22cmで、裏まち布の幅が16cmですと、両端の縫い代は3cmになると思うのですが、動画では2cmと表記されています。
縫い代2cmだとすると表まち布の幅は20cmで良いのでしょうか？
作り方に感動して是非作ってみたいと思っています。細かいことかも知れませんが、できれば忠実にと思っています。よろしくお願いします。
