Wow, I'm just discovering this. I'm positively shocked upon how fresh his outlook on composition seems to be.
I remember the Bartók Mikrokosmos, Volume V, the only I played as a child. Exemplary and intelligent playing by the composer.
Nice footage indeed! :-)
A unique and individual composer, one of the 20th C truly great composers. I remember playing the Peasant Dance for my piano teacher and also practicing Alternating 3rds. Microkosmos is not only a a pianists treasure trove but a composers too and a suburb introduction to the music of this much neglected composer.
How clean and pleasing to the ear Bartok's playing is - rhythmic but definitely not percussive!
@Changles Indeed, I didn't mean any offence -- his name is not Andrew but Peter! It was for him that Bartok started to write little, "easy" pieces and exercises...that gradually turned into the "Mikrokosmos".
A parte de un grandísimo compositor fue un gran pianista.❤️
Seems like the 'Six Million Dollar Man' Tv Show theme song got some inspiration from Bartok. Thanks for the video/Album.

Is this really him playing?
sara benassi I think no
Yes he Is One of the last greatest pianists composers with Rachmaninov Prokofiev and Medtner.. none can match them ..After 80years none has reached such a playing..i can only name PAL Kadosa that can stand beside.
I never liked his music.
Marc Amengual me too😅
Then why are you here, moron?
@@profd65 Because I wanted to listen a good performance of his music and not mine, that were a bit shitty, but I didn't insulted anyone I was just expressing my opinion peacefully. Don't need to call me moron.
