Great video. I was on Ovation earlier this year. Overall I was disappointed with how food quality/presentation has gone down after the pandemic. But the taste was still good.
@@nancyc1196I don't recall the exact operating hours but they are open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. They did close down between. I believe omelets were available for the entire breakfast time.
@@NorthernVikingExplorer I think they open at 7 am for breakfast, 12 noon for lunch and 5 pm for dinner. They close for the day at 10 pm. I may be wrong on the opening time for breakfast and lunch, but it is quite close
Yes, definitely. It was a wonderful cruise to Alaska. The other great thing, there were so many big indoor areas. So if the weather is not good there were areas to hang out.
Awesome! You will love it. Your best bet would probably be to go back and watch our Ovation of the Seas vlogs on our channel. This will give you an insight to what it's like on the ship and some of the stuff that you can do. We also have a full tour of the ship as well. We hope that you have a magnificent time! 🛳️☀️
The main dining room has free seating for breakfast and lunch, but reserved seating for dinner. So you have to arrange for your dinner time when you book your cruise, or at the customer service counter when you check in. Otherwise you will have to queue and wait for available seats There are three time slots, starting from 5 pm. Speaking from experience

Definitely seems that there are less options since the pandemic, but you're right, the food was still great on the ship. Thanks for watching 👍
@@NorthernVikingExplorer They are trying to reduce wastage as a lot of the food gets thrown away

The rules have changed some what. The Dog House is now only complimentary for suite passengers. The rest will have to pay
Thanks for sharing the update.
Thx for the informative video. Do you recommend this cruise for family with kids ? Thinking of going to Alaska.
Yes, definitely. It was a wonderful cruise to Alaska. The other great thing, there were so many big indoor areas. So if the weather is not good there were areas to hang out.
Do you have to show id everytime you wanna get something?
No, you don't show your cruise card. Typically at the main dining room you'll need to show it but for the buffet it's just come and go as you please.
As a first time cruiser in May of this year, this video was really helpful. Any advice for a first timer?

So overall the food was good ?
Yes, we enjoyed the food. Lots of great options.
This food free???
This was all "free" or included with your cruise fare.
The beef rendang didn't look right. There wasn't enough "rendang"
