OG season was mostly fun for nostalgia, but honestly the newer stuff is more fun to me. A lot of people don't like the constant new stuff or different content but it is the main thing bringing me back to the game.
I just try to put energy, emotion, and meaning into the words I say for videos. I don't find it to be annoying, nor has anyone else ever said anything, but I understand people have different preferences! Sorry you couldn't finish the video!
@@pcgus @wg_caboose127 can confirm, it is very noticeable. Changing up your inflection and rhythm of the words based on intensity can add a lot of flavor, so it rhythmically and tonally doesn't feel so repetitive. Not trying to make it seem like a big deal, but it does exist. Learning that may add a lot more of a dynamic feel to your videos
@@semicolondesign I think it really depends on what you consider dynamic. I don't think I sound like an AI voice with no character. I bring an interesting style that is recognizable to my content.
Nice and insightful video Gus! While I only just reinstalled Fortnite last week after not playing for 5(?) years and even back then I wasn't super into it, I found these last few days of playing Zero Build mode on the OG map to be more enjoyable than the last two times I tried to get into the game. I'm excited to see where Epic goes from here as they hopefully try to revolutionize the genre (some more)
Thank you! I think your comment definitely gives me hope that next season might stand even more of a chance than I initially expected, but I guess time really will answer that question. I'm actually just getting ready to check the new stuff out! I'm super excited to see what all epic does!
I never understand why epic need to bring themselves down by adding more when it was proven to them by being original and simple goes a long way and every body wins. Great video btw.
I mean I think it's a double edged sword, keep it too plain and the same forever and it gets dull and everyone stops playing, but if you go too crazy it scares people off. It's a difficult balance. I honestly think epic wanted to change the next chapter quite a bit after OG did so much better than they expected (like they said on Twitter), but due to time they couldn't. Who knows though? I wish more people won in the current situation though! I'm glad you enjoyed :)
@@pcgus your right, sometimes I wish they could just make another game which is the season 1- 3 version of fortnite for the OGs and they could screw with first copy as much as they want.
Depends on how you look at it, but yes, the new Chapter is definitely something crazy. I'm enjoying it though! I'm honestly wondering if epic wanted to change it after seeing the success of OG, but didn't have the time? That's definitely a hopeful way to see it for those who are wishing for something more toned back.
For me fortnite was fun when you could one up the sweats or just have destructive fun all the time. broken weapons like the railgun and scanner were simultaneously amazing and infuriating. OG minigun with no overheat was the best. It was fun but the direction it took when it went big in competitive shifted the mentality of gamers as a whole. it wasn't about having fun anymore, it was about winning and becoming the best for that sweet fame and fortune. fun was replaced with the mentality that balanced weapons make the game fun just so that people can justify the loss of broken weapons for their fun. it made the game stale and the same. mythics and exotics feel like a good attempt at trying to break those boundaries but they just couldn't last either. competitive gave rise to meta strategies and forced player skill to skyrocket, causing the creation of sweaty players in the game. while bots are a temporary solution, once the new player gets into the pool, things end up instantly on the deep end. even with ranked queues, doesnt change anything if the sweaty players will ignore that entirely just to have their fun of curb stomping the entire lobby. I wouldn't blame the entire problem of less fun on sweats but they are part of a more compounded issue that drives new and old players to quit.
This comment is definitely one that I think lots of players would agree with. Sweats, competition, money, and increasing skill gaps definitely create a divide and begin making less enjoyable experiences for casuals! Also like you said, balancing becomes more critical! You 'can't' have competitive contain crazy op items or it makes it a worse experience, but then by the same token having different loot pools makes it harder for people to get into competition. It really is just a complicated situation! And bots and new players coming really don't ever fully solve the issue. Sweats still exist and the balance is forever changed.
I think they both have ups and downs! I definitely love both for different reasons! I'm having more fun with the chaotic and new Chapter 5 with friends than I was having with the end and possibly even the beginning of OG.
i wonder if theres a possibility for them to make an OG map and que instead of having it seasonal, kinda like what they did with no builds, but it will remain og forever, that way the people who liked og can stay in that mode and br it out, think kinda like osrs and classic WoW, tbh og fortnite was nice for a lil bit but it got boring imo really fast i liked the visual looks tho i also liked the simplicity as well, i sometimes hate all the crazy stuff they add in like grapplers, webslingers, the goo gun, kenetic hammers, (i did like kenetic blades tho those felt really good)
I do think theoretically they could do that, but I just think it creates even more of a divide. We already have soooo many modes and if they keep adding modes to directly steal BR players it could become an issue. Not sure really what the solution is. I do agree there was some boredom that snuck in while playing OG! What kept me loving it was all my friends being there! The visuals are nice (and easier to run), but I do agree, crazy stuff can be a bit rough!

That's a completely valid statement! I personally enjoy both, but I'd get super bored if the game ever just stagnated for a long period of time!
i like your video man and i’m not trying to hate but i couldn’t finish it. doing that inflection at the end of every sentence drives me crazy
every sentence sounds like the “number 15 burger king foot lettuce” clip

@@Nick-ub3bh definitely would be cool, but I think it would die out pretty fast and it would majorly impact the main game.
Fortnite stream today???
No
Fortnite’s twitter actually announced a return of Fortnite OG in the future, but, here’s to next season. Cheers Gus 🎉
