Fortnite OG has been one of the greatest Fortnite seasons we've had in years. Players are enjoying it so much they want it to stay forever as a permanent game mode in Fortnite. However, I'm not so sure this is the best Idea. In fact bringing back OG Fortnite may have been one of Epic Games biggest mistakes.

the loot pool is the biggest thing to me, everything you said is correct, the past two chapters you had to use whatever broken mobility was in the game and find the 1 ar and 1 shotgun that are better than every other weapon. now if you have a few launch pads you can drop your mobility for a sniper/rpg or if you have cozy campfires then you can drop one of ur heals for another item. as well as the lmg being a great ar smg hybrid.
I said basically the same thing on Reddit. In Ch3 and especially Ch4, most ran the same load out.
Some form of mythic or exotic shotgun, some form of red dot rifle (most recently the Twin Mag), shockwaves or OP rotation, anime mythic, heals.
I have experimented more with my load outs this week than I have in a very long time.
The best part about chapter 1, for me, is the interesting and colourful items. Boogie bombs, clingers, dynamite, grapplers, rift-to-gos, shockwaves, flintknocks, boom bows, I could go on. The uniqueness of everything added in chapter 1 is way better than what’s been added in chapters 2,3 and 4. Hopefully chapter 5 adds more silly items like chapter 1.
shockwave hammers, grapple hooks, the katana, Business Turrets, inflate-A-Bull, Grab-itron, all the different fish u can get?, all the anime mythics and super powers, Sticky Grenade Launcher, slap juice, Ripsaw Launcher, Explosive Goo Gun, Recycler
we still get interesting colorful items lol people either just don't use them because despite being fun their kinda a gamble and most of them unfortunately get vaulted after one season
@supremeleaderfrancisco9062 I hear ya, but I think there's a difference between balloons, stinkers, shockwaves, flintknocks, hunting rifles, etc than the Ch4 stuff.
A lot of the Ch4 stuff was either OP or in some way annoying to use or go up against. The Ch1 stuff is just simple and fun to use.
Same goes for the vehicles. Cars vs Quads, ATKs, Drift Boards, Planes and Ballers is a land slide victory for Ch1. All that stuff is just way more fun to use.
That's not to say everything about Ch4 was bad. I just felt like there was way too much going on, and a lot of the stuff was OP and had to be used, or was clunky and not fun to use.
Simplicity and fun should be the focus, always.

@@supremeleaderfrancisco9062except the difference is that those “colorful items” were also overpowered. They either gave insanely overpowered mobilities or they just shredded someone’s health. The silly goofy items from chapters 1 AND 2 were the items that made fortnite fun. Chapter 2 I didn’t like in its times cuz I couldn’t accept the change, but looking back on it I would much rather take chapter 2 over 3 and 4. Chapter 2 still had most original guns and fun poi’s but also added a perfect taste for new items and map events. 3 and 4 just ruined the game and I will stand on that forever
Like I once said to you on Discord, this worries me about chapter 5. I'm worried people won't give it a chance and just bash it, no matter how good it might be, just because it isn't chapter 1. And we've seen this before when we first went from chapter 1 to chapter 2.

Yup I just played 2 games of the new season and I’m out. I hate the npc’s, weird music at the locations and cameras bots all that crap. Weird weapons. Simplicity is very important. also three to five years is wild. It should be an LTM every few months. I won’t be coming back until an OG mode is back
5:50 FINALLY someone mentions the ambiance of the game. We live in nature and nature is always around us! This exact thing is what you should be hearing when out in nature. The removal of this made the game feel fake and lifeless. Excellent point. You earned a sub dog.
The main thing I think chapter 5 needs is to have more old weapons because most of the old weapons are better than the new ones, for the map to be a bit bigger and have those Sid stories we had back in chapter 1,2,and 3 and for the map to look and play good.

Ch5 map is supposed to be a remix of mostly ch2, they say. Which is basically ch1. And that could save it. Cause if it was completely new, like ch4 map, people will leave again. OG season now, the map, is just a better map, more fun map, nicer looking map.
@@ancientslav4863I'm so happy to see so many appreciating this map. For years on Reddit, I had so many people saying the Ch1 map was outdated, ugly, primitive, etc.
Now that we're back, even newer players are loving this map. They just nailed this map.
Epic had to make things more complex just so people would think the game was getting "bigger and better", but I think most have now realized after Ch4 that tons of detail and a realistic art style probably doesn't suit Fortnite.
Hopefully Epic listens and dials everything back some.

I really hope they can take the simplicity and ideas from chapter 1 and find a way to implement it in chapter 5
I hope not this game might have fewer features than Fortnite rip-offs if this continues! It needs something new that excites this season and is recycled so I do not see the hype.

The main reason that Fortnite: OG was made was because of the Chapter 4: End Event that happens every chapter.
Epic wanted ALL eyes on the event because it would probably be the biggest event ever; Eminem, Lego, Racing Mode, End event, Storyline, New map etc, IN ONE EVENT.
It also will bring nostalgia like mentioned in the video and it was so much simpler compared to Chapter 4 due to the map, items and much more. 👍
During the entirety of og I didn't get mad at the game a single time but with chapter 5 being out for around 2 weeks now, I've gotten mad at it so many times already
Another thing i love is how its all on gameplay and not lore focused
I don't know what to think about this situation, on one side i can't see why the Ch1 Island couldn't be a separate Gamemode, Apex has many maps and it works for them, also WoW brought back a classic version separate from the main servers and it worked wonders for them...
On the other side i'm hella worried about the Chapter 5, i don't know how all these 40 million players the season brought back are going to react to Augments, Swimming, Cars, Gold, NPCs, Wild Animals and such...
Maybe haters were right, the game may be way too complex at this point.
Fornite OG got me playing the game again. The season came and went BUT here I am chapter 5 still playing. I'm satisfied. If zero build wasnt here and the item pool in the game wasn't simple and digestible I wouldn't still be playing. Lego and rocket racing and everything else is cool and all but the fact of the matter is this; chapter 5 zero build loot pool is simple and the map feels similar to OG map as well. I like it.
Fortnite OG is what has saved Fortnite!
It's more complex because of the years of experience people have now... the play style isn't what was. I am glad to play this season as I didn't play in Chapter 1. I have noticed a ton of people showing off their season 3 or so battle pass emotes... some emotes I've not seen people use. The only gripe I have is to me, this season is way too hard with all the people who know the map better than people who don't. I tried builds to be more authentic but I get slaughtered by FNCS wannabes. It is especially hard for me to win... I have a string of 2nd and 3rd place games, but only 3 wins so far and no crowns. I do like the simplicity. I am glad there are no mythics! Either way... I'm making more memories. I think Chapter 4 was basically a showcase for the new engine and building the new creative. They may focus more on BR now that their experiment is off the gound.
People back then got to know every inch of this map, because back then, less people hot dropped. I've played a bunch of random squads this season, and people just drop Tilted or Salty. This is so unfortunate because this map is loaded with amazing POI and little nooks. Of course, when the map is only around for 1 month, I can see why newer players have little reason to explore.

I feel like the reason why they didn’t make it a separate game mode is because it would kill any interest in other game modes. I mean, why play the new season when all of your childhood memories are stored in this separate game mode. So no one would be playing the new season and thus any new updates would be meaningless.

I just wish that we didn't get the actual full mao changes for Fortnite OG. The volcano, Lazy Lagoon, and even Sunny Steps from season 8, Mega Mall and Neo Tilted from season 9, Tiilted Town from season X. Yes, there are still many who dislike it becaude their good memories came from people beinf bad, but overall, huge success. Like I said, just wish the map changes stayed the same
since it was announced that its a yearly thing (for now at least), let next year be a month long like this year, but make it an ltm, not a full season with a battle pass and stuff and keep it focused on one or two seasons

Honestly it's not even that much about og Fortnite that I liked about the og season. It's the simplicity, no npc, no cars, no crazy mythics. Just open a chest and use what you got

In my opinion even though i am a chapter 1 season 2 og, chapter 3 season 1 was the most fun season for me, they would like give us updates every week with new guns, changing the loot pool with new weapons and the map felt great. It was one of the few seasons i've finished the battlepass, its a hidden gem no one talks about unfortunetly
Chapter 1 is hella good too, i hope chapter 5 will be refreshing as this season and also chapter 3 season 1, both of them are the goats for me ngl. I guess everyone has his own likings.

I definitely agree with the idea of simplicity. part of what turned me away from fortnite was all the stuff. over abundance of collabs, HUGE maps, and just stuff that made the game fun. Not all about getting the most kills but using cool things like shockwaves to get high ground and break builds. I'm giving chapter 5 a chance but honestly it just isnt the same kind of fun. I mostly play creative game modes now.

Id say that the main thing ch 5 needs, as ive and many other people has said, is to have good metas and weapons mainly ones that are fun, yet balanced, like the scar and maybe the striker burst, the scar has more versitlility, but the burst mire accurate, if both were in the same meta is that both have their pros and cons together, also

Nostalgia or not, the game was 1000x better then. Idk if OG should be permanent or not, but Fortnite now vs Fortnite then... it's not even the same game.
I understand games have to evolve to compete, but for most of us current Fortnite isn't what we fell in love with. So I'm not sure what the answer is tbh. But simplicity, gun skill, tactics wins vs. mythics, flying guitars, flying fists. The game is corny now. Fortnite has lost it's soul.

Og fortnite isnt the same as chapter 1 for me and for others too since the map isnt the same in terms of season 6,7,8,9,10
As a newer player unaffected by the nostalgia others feel for OG Fortnite, I'm not a big fan of this season. As an intellectual, I like more complex and complicated gameplay like that of last season. I completely understand all of the players who love this season, and I hope Epic makes it a permanent mode for the players who want it. It just isn't it for me, and I'm hoping chapter 5 is something more like chapter 4 again.
that's surprising for me, I was an OG player, but i always said that OG fortnite was worse and the newer maps are better, but now i have played it i really prefer chapter 1

Chapter 5 better be good we need one unique boss tons of storyline and a live event before it that explains it well. It should not disappoint as right now it's pretty hard to disappoint me my expectations are not that high
lol… mistake? Epic does not do anything by mistake. Since I started playing Fortnite on chapter 2 I’ve been seeing people wishing Fortnite to fail and disappear but sad for those… there is a lot of Fortnite coming up and will keep continuing smashing COD, Apex or any of those games that have nothing new to offer.
In my opinion chapter 3 was very enjoyable up to season 3 aka Vibin the weapons were really unbalanced and not really fun in that season same with paradise

Another difference is the sizes of the POI’s and unnamed locations. In Chapter 4 the POI’s are huge and take a long time to rotate out of, in comparison to Chapter 1’s map, which the POI’s sizes are comparable to Unnamed Locations and there is simpler design. Tilted Towers for example, is half the size of Mega City from Chapter 4, and unlike Mega City you can go through every part of it. Also the towers from Mega City were just unnecessarily big.
mega city was fire tho. i loved the muscle cars and stuff. fortnite has always been good except for c2s6 and c3s4 tbh.

I started playing towards the end of Ch 3 season 2 and having never played Ch 1 before, I gotta say that OG is the most fun I've ever had on Fortnite. So much so that I'm finding myself doing 4 hour plus streams with the time pretty much flying by. It's my favourite of the battle passes so far. I actually like things like the shield being harder to find. I myself prefer the cartoony art style and I'm enjoying the simplicity. Shock waving my friend in shopping carts etc. I'd love it if chapter 5 retained some of what makes OG so fun. All in all, I'm glad I got to experience this month in the game!

Commenting after playing Chapter 5, my god was this a disappointing release, I came back for the OG season and have had possibly more fun than when it first came out because of zero builds being available. But this new movement, new map, new bosses, medallions, stupidly fast time to kill weapons, lack of mobility or cover for zero builds, stupidly tall mountains, and more I could list, are the exact opposite of what makes the OG map and loot pool so fun. OG needs to be permanent, and I think if they do that, you'd be shocked when the player count for OG actually exceeds or matches the player count for the new season.

I think they should just make OG fortnite a gamemode after this season. The original map, with the original weapon loot pool. I havent played fortnite in years, and I enjoy how it is now. I would never want to play with all the extra added features. I like plain and simple fortnite

I only played season 3-8 back in the day and chapter 3 season 3 brought me back with zero build and the vibe of that season. I genuinley loved chapter 3 and chapter 4 was good too but nothing beats chapter 1.

I got my first win yesterday, and although I loved the newer features, I have to agree the simpler gameplay is really refreshing.
i noticed the weapons this season all feel good because they don’t have the crazy bloom and esports nerfs that chapter 3-4 suffered from

they should keep OG Fortnite as a game mode, just like zero build
since both brought back a lot of players (OG Fortnite even more than zero build)
Another factor of the og map that makes it so much fun is the fact it’s a much smaller map compared to the other chapters making the gameplay more engaging

Unpopular opinion: for me this season is kinda boring,as someone who played chapter 3/4 the map kinda feels empty and new features like augments,swimming,npcs,cars are things that add to the overall gameplay of the game, if you disagree i completely understand I'm a "new" player so chapter 1 for me is kinda bad

100% agree. I started in chater 2, season 1. The OG map is trash. Nothing interesting, no real mobility and the water.. omg the water. Why add swimming if, later on, you cannot swim. It just feels counter-intuitive.
apart from swimming, i would be HAPPY if all of those wouldn't be in chapter 5. and im not some old man "old fortnite was better" person, i played through every season of 3 and 4 and loved it, yet those features have been in for so long it's just stale.
This video basically explains the biggest issue with the fortnite community: we are spoiled. Spoiled enough where we all have breakdowns when a season isnt to our liking, and thats also why im worried about how Chapter 5 will turn out. Im worried that the second the painting is cracked with something the community doesnt like, it will be deemed as terrible without even giving it a chance.

Theory: I personally think that jones didn't go back to the past, or well the same reality past, there's these things called "time lines" different realities but it's still a time wave length, I don't think kados time machine goes back in time, I think it goes to different time lines, think about it, he's killed oro, sliced Midas' hand off ect, and nothing has changed, after ALL he's done that we don't even know about, it didn't change what happened in the future, also I mean the house in Fatal Fields is now a barn, in the sand biome the rocky walk way isn't on the two mountains, also in the desert biome the cacti are gone just like how it happened after Kevin the cubes lightning struck, but there was no cube, and then out of nowhere the loot lake island with the cube appeared which makes no sense, and in the update drift boards are back despite not being added till next season, also leaks show that when the snow biome appears out of nowhere it won't cover greasy, and also season 9 won't have neo stuff, and there won't be lazy lagoon or volcanos for season 8, and the zero point will pop out from under the floating loot lake house, also take this as canon or not but if the stuff from og fortnite got sent to streamers houses how did they tap dance themselves back to the island, canon or not, this stuff isnt adding up
