Fun fact: Bill Belichick passed on Tom Brady 6 times in the 2000 NFL draft and it wasn't until Dick Rehbein recommended drafting Brady, did Bill Belichick draft him.
People use Belichick drafting Brady as a point to building Belichick up, but if Belichick was as good at drafting as those people make him seem, Belichick wouldn't have passed on the GOAT 6 times, giving other teams a chance to draft him.

    • @thanksfernuthin

The Pats had three QB's that year. Including one considered a franchise QB with the biggest contract in the league. So Tom Brady became the 4th quarterback. It's unheard of for any team to have 4 quarterbacks on their team but the Pats did that because Bill believed Rehbein and saw the potential in Brady. We can appreciate Brady without degrading Belichick. Unless that's just what you want to do.

correct. noticed that before. to me from afar it has always looked like Billy Hoodie has always either put Brady down or tried to take cradit he isn't due As a lot of ex players (not the so called experts) have said. when was a coach ever talked about in G.O.A.T TERMS UNTIL BRADY. Just another way to NOT GIVE HIM HIS DUE FOR BEING BETTER THAN OR BEATING THEIR TEAMS OVER AND OVER.

I believe Parcells (when he said that they didn't talk about Brady with the Jets). The only other person I know that was as interested as Rehbein was the Charger HC at the time (Mike Riley). It goes like this: In 1995, Mike was the recruiting coordinator at USC. He wanted Brady, but they picked others instead. Then, at the 2000 combine, Mike told Brady that he was going to get him. Charger HC Bobby Beathard asked him what QB's he liked for the later rounds, and he said Brady and Todd Husak of Stanford. On Draft Day, Riley told Beathard that he liked Brady. Bobby went and watched film on him, and came back 20 minutes later and said that he wasn't good enough.

How many coaches have had to kick themselves in the ass for passing. Tom has said I am not fast and I don’t have a great vertical jump-fortunately I don’t need those skills at the position I play. So Tom knew what every coach and scout didn’t. He didn’t need to be muscled up, he wasn’t going to run the ball, and he didn’t need to jump vertically as a quarterback. Simple -every single scout and coach in the NFL screwed up. That includes Bill Belichek-he just lucked out. BB did finally realize what he had, but he stupidly pushed Tom out the door to Tampa Bay where Tom put a team together and won the Super Bowl. Bill Belichek is not a genius.
