I know you hear me say I'm excited alot and that's because I truly am and at the end of the day if we aren't moving might as well make this house as amazing as we possible can! Starting with a decent addition that will serve as additional entertainment space, office, and laundry space. I truly hope that this project brings you so much motivation, too, since we do plan to tackle a majority on our own I hope to show it's possible to do somethinglike this on a reasonable budget! ❤️

We used bead board instead of drywall on my she shed-so much cheaper, easier, and gave it such a cottage look!

Love the new building the gray and black is a good combination behind the building I love the idea of a potted garden put you a little chair out there and then you have a place to hide from the kids lol

It looks great! It really looks like a house addition. You might end up liking the windows being higher when you start putting things in there. It'll be easier to work with and you won't have to worry as much about blocking windows. And the doors look great! I agree, I love the more glass look and seeing even more of the outside. I'm so happy for you and your family because I know y'all will love this.

Hey Karrie! It looks ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! You could put a half glass door in on the side of the building to replace the solid door. That would give you more light or replace it with a single atrium like your double ones. Just a suggestion. It's going to be so beautiful and I love the colors you chose! I'm with you....the house color needs to be changed later down the road. You are definitely a GO GETTER GIRL! I'm so excited and happy for y'all! 🙏👏👍❤️

KARRIE, IT LOOKS SO GOOD!!!!❤ 👏 And one way to help the high windows (from the outside) would be some flower boxes that hang slightly lower than the windows. It would elongate them while looking beautiful!!😊😍
*and if the upkeep is too much, I've even seen some people do high quality faux flowers/plants in them and you couldn't even tell.

Your doors look great. What a task. I'm in PA, and even I know doors in hurricane regions open outward, NOT inward. You guys know what you're doing.
Hinges go inside! Threshold is supposed to be on the exterior slanting down😊
@user-js2lr9fc8y A simple Google search will educate you on hurricane safety and doors. They open outward in hurricane regions and use special hinges. Imagine sitting at that island and the pressure and wind from a hurricane is so strong your door shoots itself at you like a dangerous projectile.......
@user-js2lr9fc8y Her front door opens inward..... The code in FL changed after Hurricane Andrew to state all newly installed doors must open outward. If she were to replace her front door, she'd comply with code, and her front door would open outward as well.
Great Job! Hard work, for sure! As for the door, I believe that all the small screw covers go on the inside of the door, which means it's installed the correct way. 😊

Before you put those wood screw hole plugs in, put a small amount of caulk in each hole. It helps the plugs stay in.

That was my thought? For that price, I'd think you'd have doors?
I paid 14k for the building, which included permit, concrete, and the 12x25 building. 5 windows and one door. They didn't have " french doors". They only had standard or roll-up door like a garage, so I chose not to pay for that and pay for a cut-out only. The cutout was for the French door that I then went and purchased. My total so far for the whole building I'd about 15k awesome price for what we got in my honest opinion 🙂🙂
The building is huge. I think the placement of the windows look good from the outside.

I think you can modify the windows for taller in length to extend them to your height cut out the wall lower so you can have beautiful unique tall windows 😊 have fun

Door backwards. Doors should open in. Hinges inside. The bottom step plate should slant down outside so water runs off to outside.
Doors in hurricane regions open OUTWARD due to pressure and wind.
So if hinges are outside can't anyone just remove pin in hinge and walk right in?
@maureenh3944 outswing doors have special tamper proof hinges. If she had an inward door, the hurricane winds and pressure would more than likely tear off her door.
I'm not professional and I live in PA. I am just flagging based on what I was told when installing. I thought they purchased a right hand in swing. They can ck with their inspector too to make sure correct. It's beautiful anyway. Hope you have many years happiness with new space..
No there's are locks on the hinges. It's correct
