Never mind that I could barely speak between hysterical sobs or that my abuser was chaotically screaming at me in the background telling me what I should say during the call. The acting in the Netflix series was superb. All the actors brought their A game and the actors who played the brothers are so talented. Based on what was presented in the series and my not personally following the real case in the 90s, I don't think the killing of the parents was justified. These brothers were practically grown men when they carried out the act, therefore, they were old enough to leave the household and pursue their own lives.
Yes, people who are true victims of an abusive household are able to leave home as teenagers, if they are not cowards. Erik was 18, and Lyle was 21 at the time of the murders. They were old enough to join the military and get away from home but, as entitled, spoiled brats who did not want to give up the continued financial support of their parents (tennis coaches, sports cars, etc.), they feared being cut off from the financial support and losing their inheritance. They were overwhelmed by their greed and fury and acted it out.
Thank you! The fact that these *KILLERS* have sOooo many apologists, advocates, hell even _groupies_ on their side is both frightening and pervertedly fascinating.
