  • At just 4 years old, Sun Zhuo was abducted. Recently, at 18 years of age, he was reunited with his family after a DNA test.
His father had spent 14 years searching for his son, all over the country. The search inspired a feature film, “Dearest,” which was released in 2014.
According to CNN, Sun said he would stay with the family who raised him over the last decade since he was previously unaware they were not his birth parents.

It's a lot to process by the teenager. This boy's world is turned upside down. Everyone involved needs professional counselling. It's still a good outcome. Wish them the best.

As a mother myself, I can feel the pain and suffering of the couple’s loosing their son. It’s the most horrible experience of loosing a child. Best wishes to the family. 😘💕💕💕

Poor parents. They ”lost” their son twice. His foster parents are criminals. The foster father is the brother of the kidnapper

I don’t know if this can be called a happy ending or not! The movie “My Dearest” is the most gut wrenching story I ever saw, I recommend it to anyone who wants an unforgettable experience!

We all hope both sets of parents will unite in doing the best for the boy, if, as claimed, the adoptive parents did not abduct him. Kudos too to the police for finding him. If public CCTVs helped to reduce such crimes, who can object?

    • @Hazza_Harding
      @Hazza_Harding  2 года назад

Yeah - that is why crime rates have dropped dramatically

It can’t be reconciled, the biological parents custody right was stripped away by the other “parents”, nobody asked them to raise sun zhuo

Even the boy is found by the biological parent the relationship is distorted and to the boy, he will be confused as to whether or not to return to the biological parents after all these years. This is a very difficult and sad situation.

He loves the people who raised him. In time he’ll build a relationship with his real parents. The real parents would understand this. Maybe in time when he’s had time to process the gravity of what his foster parents did, he will disown them.

Good to be able to find one's missing son after 14 years. Incredible that the parents never gave up. But looks like life for the boy may get complicated since he confessed that he do love his foster parents which I think is understandable. It is going to be like a tug of war. Hopefully both parents will know what to do. Although they found their son, but it may be a long process to build the relationship from now. I hope child abductors will be seriously dealt with. With due respect to the foster parent, I find it hard to believe that an abductor will abduct for the sake of giving the child free to someone. Afterall, I do assume (maybe wrongly) that abductors abduct for a reason ie. $$$$ most likely unless it is for revenge. What was the general reaction of the public in China?

People felt happy and sad for the parents at the same time - it is a tough situation to judge, as we can’t really know what it is like to be involved unless it happens to us personally. But overall, I think people were just happy that they got reconnected, and things may change over time

Wouldn't the foster parents have had to register a new child with the local authorities with some kind of paperwork?

In europe we had adapted childern who found out they were kidnaped as childern and sold for adoption in europe, all happened without the knowledge of the fosterparents, who relied on goverment agencies to check if it was legal or not, right now the involved government agencies are facing serious legal issues over it, because they approved all the adoptions despite there were obvious flaws in the documents. I say Chinese government should go after that kid's foster parents, from what you told us, it is obvious they didnt get the child legally and some agencies failed to check on that.

Very tragic. A real bloody shame that the biological parents had to suffer this terribly desperate ordeal for fourteen years!! Must have felt like fourteen centuries!!
Mixed feelings about this story since the reunion is a positive thing but then it's a very messy situation given the circumstances after such a ridiculously long time!!

The advances in CCTV, AI & DNA technologies will hopefully eliminate these abductions.
Abductions are hideous crimes, causing immense suffering to the biological parents.
China should develop a legal system for legitimate adoptions.
