I tried to do this last week but for some reason it didn't go straight through. I tried it again just now and what do you know, it worked!
Wow I’ve been doing this the hard way, taking it apart & winding it around myself & trying to put it back together. And doing this everytime the string breaks 😭 so much time I wasted

How long does the new line need to be
I did about 20’
20’ for .095 or 25’ for .080 for this Milwaukee trimmer. You can do less, those are just the limits
If you have plenty still in the head there is a couple other ways to unload the string out that is faster than this.

Does not work for me I have no Red Dot to line up it's gone cannot load line tried moving it to 20 different positions blind just will not go through $300 weed wacker completely worthless was nice for 2vyears but since I can't put line in it. It's now tradh

For my house it’s more than enough.
However for lawn mowers I still need a gas one lol
Love mine. After I cut my grass with the gas mower, I can use the weed whacker and hedge trimmer and blower for the whole yard on one battery.
