Hey Boris, So in the US we refrigerate our eggs for the entire shipping process, and when you boil a chilled egg, sulfur can build up on the outside of the yolk, leading to an unpleasant green ring. The ice water bath trick came from the US, and it's done to prevent the buildup of sulfur so the yolk stays yellow and delicious-looking.

Fun fact: If the three guys who volunteered to go to remove all the water underneath the reactor didn't do that there would be an explosion that would destroy anything in the radius of 700 km. The reason of the explosion would be that the things that powers up the reactor and the "ingots" got stuck and melted, that kept the high temperature and created magma with the temperature of 3000 °c and that would melt the concrete floor underneath it and touch the water that would be like an pressure cooker (express pot) without the lid. edit: i googled it and it depends on how high you live so im living on a mountain and i guess that affects it
You're right, it depends on your altitude, or rather said the pressure. Kinda cool if you ask me :o
I live near a beach, that explains why it takes so long to boil eggs.
Wait what the fuck
I live 2,570 metres above the sea it takes about 6 minutes for my eggs to boil
I like how messy he cooks but when hes done it looks so good.
When i cook it looks like a tronado just passed in my place.
This is the best cooking video of all times.
When we will have "life of Anatoli" Channel?

As someone who lives in Japan, the concept of a boiled egg in which the yolk is anything but liquid horrifies me to my core.
To think Japan and Russia are so close..
Yet their concept of eggs is so different.
@@Zamasever Japan is close to Russia's most backwoods provinces with 5% of the population. The main Russian population is in the European part of the country, 3000km from Japan.
@@talknight2 3000km is still relatively close compared to the distance between some other countries and the world as a whole.
Tbf Japan heavily regulates their eggs.
My grandmother is Guatemalan-Italian and she puts the bay leaf in her black bean soup and it tastes delicious.

with your help ive finally made it out my goblin grotto and boiled a few eggs. very good tutorial
My egg NEVER EVER peels that easily no ones egg does but boris is russian so why not
Wow thx for all the likes never had this many before and also i made a mistake i used a egg instead of chicken produce
People that’s not russian:BLYAT!
notice he rolls the egg to make cracks all around the middle first! helpful for peeling smooth
I've noticed that adding a little salt to the water when you boil the eggs also helps to soften the shell.
@@Ilikebunnies-metoo what
Immediately after the eggs are done boiling, drop the eggs in COLD ice water to shock the eggs to stop cooking from the inside. It'll make it easier to peel the shell. The cold water is important. XD trust me. Tried with and without.
Boris: do not be afraid to fail
My mom when I add one drop less of oil: *BIG ANGRY*
Yeah, he did forget that if our moms get angry, then.......
so get a new mom?
Also, boiling eggs at different heights: at higher locations cook longer bc water boils at a lower temperature
Hmmmm..... Eggs.....
Edit: wait I just boiled 8 min egg that came out like boris' 12 min egg.

I just want to thank you. Remembering the tips from this video saved my dinner. My dish was bland despite being spicy and full of garlic. It needed something. And then I remembered the bay leaf. And it fixed it!

In Spain we also use bay leaf in a lot of recipies, It is called "Laurel" in Spanish.
It's also called "laurel" in English, but only when it's a special hat for special Romans, we also warn people not to sit on their laurels so they get off of their asses and not be complacent.
@@gregoryriley9946 Oh pretty interesting
Are you sure it's Laurel, not Yanny?
@@Chamieiniibet Im sure

Boris: Liquid egg yolk will give you salmonella.
Me who’s been cooking soft boiled eggs and over easy eggs: Totally worth it.
I guess it's kind of like kinda-sorta-mostly-washing your hands for 5 seconds with soap and water vs. thoroughly washing them for 30 seconds. Gets rid of most of the bad stuff, and your immune system is hopefully able to deal with the rest.
Depending on where you are, eating a raw egg most likely won't give you salmonella. I would recommend that you always have restaurants thoroughly cook your eggs, and to always thoroughly cook them if in an unfamiliar place.
@@burner2097 I ate eggs in restaurant many times and they always been a bit runny. Thats how they shuld be served (never get ill from them).
Don't get from eggs, raw chicken is a whole other story. Also that fried egg looks mighty inedible to someone that loves them over easy, you don't need mayonaise on them when you have a delicious runny yolk to sop up with home made bread.
How can you like the taste of liquid egg yolk?
He's the opposite of how to basic
How to basic: looks normal 3 minutes later food everywhere
Boris:looks normal doesn't wastr food shoes you how to save and cook food
Wait he shoes me?
I swear to god, I was trying to cook and I checked our seasoning cabinet, and I found the legendary bay leaf. My mom and dad are from Ukraine. Lol.
Very common here in the Philippines since we all cook Adobo almost everyday.
It's a very common seasoning.

Here’s something I like to say, Mayo is Irish, but Mayonnaise is Russian. Because after watching this video, and having lunch with my Belorussian friend, I am convinced that all Slavs are addicted to Mayonnaise.
Edit 1: Boris, if I can get my grand mother’s old cookbook, would you like some Irish and German folk recipes, of course in exchange for some Russian and Uralic ones. If not that is totally ok. (Note that if you say no I will be outside you house with some bagpipes playing Highland Laddie earsplittingly within ours of me checking your response lol.)
As a Slav, I confirm that, I eat majonez with everything 💕
