I just got an 03 GT V6 with the 6 speed manual. Such a fun car, a hidden gem. Not gonna go forced induction myself, but I've heard 6lbs of boost in the tib would double your horsepower. Correct me if I'm wrong

Makes me miss my shark, that was a fun little car, I had the 03 gt 6 speed ,short throw,dc dual catback , DC headers , ngm or MGM intake manifold,i forget the brand irs been to long it was ported and polished, bigger injectors ,6 piece Korean wide body kit, lowered 2 inches everyone always gave me complements

My tib was rear ended went and got another one but it was the 5 speed gt, and it ended up being a rust bomb ! Had to dump it and I decided to go with a gm ,
I miss my 2007 tib SE all I had was short throw kit and intake/exhaust. I ALWAYS wanted to do some kind of boost but just couldn’t justify the 6-8 grand to do it right. Miss that car.. believe it or not for a cheap little FWD she handled pretty good.

Its an Eaton M62... roots style charger... without internal compression. They are not actually twin screw/Lysholm type chargers, which develop internal compression and are quite a bit more efficient.
It's a MP62. Not M62. Theres a slight difference on the flow. Better flow on the MP62 than M62. Basically the MP is a newer version of the M. Just like the MP90 vs M90. You can look at the blue print and compare them. The mouth is a lot bigger on the MP if I'm not mistaken.
@@philamguambomb Eaton has made the rootes style blowers more efficient... but they don't have nearly the internal compression of the Lysholm style compressors. They are a bit more efficient than the Lysholm style for low boost, but a lot less efficient for high boost.

I feel your pain I just got my 08 6 months ago and I can’t even tell you how neglected the car was from the previous owner ... they thought that doing a timing belt was all it need mind you so far I did New wipers , the controls for the locks and side mirrors , New door handles on the outside , new headlight bulbs and fog light bulbs ... I just put a new fender because it was dented and rusted , new rims and tires ( WhEeLs ) .the hood and door isn’t aligned right so doing that and adding cold air intake and new front and rear bumpers and side skirts , getting that painted , going to put coilovers , this is literally my project car . Oh and the previous owner put racing and thug life stickers all over and painted the inside door handles sparkly blue 😒
@@HexBrii_ just recently sold mine. The thing was mostly reliable but always had electrical issues. Constantly had issues with the headlights not wanting to work and taillights getting stuck. Hopefully you don't have those issues

They're likely discontinued now. Years ago you could buy them brand new from NIAautodesign.com who made them. NIA still might have the mold for them, if you really want a set, I would email NIA or call them and see what they can do for you (might be pricey). You can also try importshark.com or newtiburon.com forums and look at their for sale threads every day until a pair pops up. it does handle well a lot more handling in this car than a civic for circuit racing it did pretty good IMO

no its stock, just most people junk them for weight reduction and the hassle of removing them to do any maintenance
