Veteranos de la Revolución (Veterans of the Revolution), subtitled "Marcha Patriotica" (Patriotic March), was dedicated to Emilio Aguinado who headed the Philippine revolution beginning in 1898. It is a festive march written in the style of John Philipp Sousa's marching band compositions. Veteranos de la Revolución begins with an introduction in C Major, proceeding to an extended binary structure (AAB in C major, and CCD in F Major). The second section CCD juxtaposes the Philippine and Spanish National hymns. The piece begins with a grandiose march that quotes the three themes of the Himno Nacional, culminating in F Major.
