Thanks for posting this - it worked like a charm! The lock I was working on required pressing the "5" key, but the only information I had found instructed to press the AL key. Obviously I had no luck with that. You really helped me out!
I work on these all the time fror my experience you can hit pretty much any button basically what you're doing is draining the capacitor in the unit which basically kills whatever codes are in there.. just stick your thumb over two or more numbers you'll have the same effect
My manual indicated 12345 as the default master code. As it turned out 12345 master code, that was clearly indicated in the original the paper manual that came with the lock, was WRONG!!. It turned out to be 123456. Heads up everyone.

Havent changed my back door code in over 14 years and the buttons were getting "tired". this reset worked thanks!

Nope, not necessarily true... :) I tried other keys, only my '5' key worked....
