    I think that little black thing is a microphone that is linked to Jeep headquarters so they can listen to what customers have to say about product improvements.

    I enjoy your videos and tips, we just bought our 4xe a couple weeks back. Here’s a tip you can share. If you have a charging schedule set up, your Jeep will not begin to charge when you plug it in. However if you plan on leaving again soon, you can press the start button over to Accessory mode and it will begin changing.

    I never use the auto setting.... I wish the would go back to the mechanical lever that controls the temp

  • @hyppievanman

    Thermistor is just a thermometer (in how it works) it just signals temperature opposite of each other (one gaining resistance, the other becoming less resistive). The fan is there simply to help it measure the cabin temperature correctly because if it weren’t there, hot (or cold) air trapped behind the dahs/knee bolster would throw off the reading.

    Great info as always! What bugs me is that the AC indicator light goes off when you engage the Auto function, even when the AC is obviously on. Why Jeep, why?

    • @johnkraft5640
      @johnkraft5640 3 года назад

      Could be because the heat may be on. Auto means auto. Heat or air conditioning. Here in Alaska, heat is on

    Love the tips! Would you mind doing a video explaining the PHEV HV cable connector seal recall? There isn’t any in-depth information online right now. 😒

      It’s ok. I have read the recall. No need to worry. No biggie.

    Good info. I found out the hard way that while driving in a very hot/humid condition on the highway at rather brisk pace, the AC will roast you until you pull over and turn the jeep off, then back on, and travel down the road a bit more... I live in AZ. It doesn't do this, even in 120F conditions. I've also never had "50F" or lower temps coming out of my vents.

    Hi Brandon! Thanks for all the awesome content that you share with us! You always pick interesting topics to discuss!
    Quick question: when I push the air recirculation button, it automatically engages the AC, which is annoying to me, since I always have to turn it off... Do you have any idea if I can disable this feature?? (I have the exact internal setup as you do, only it is not a plug in)
    Thanks for your time!
    John

    • @BrandonHaneline
      @BrandonHaneline  3 года назад +1

      The reason it does that is so that it does fog up the windshield. As Far as I know there’s no way to disable that

    • @iliadisjohn
      @iliadisjohn 3 года назад +1

      @@BrandonHaneline Thanks a lot, Brandon, for your reply :)
      The thing is that whenever I use the recirculation, I do it to prevent fumes (from diesel tracks passing by) from coming into the passenger area... and I definitely don't need the AC to be activated... :)
      If I manage to find a way to deactivate it, I will let you know...
      Thanks again,
      John

    I really miss from the Volt the ability to easily shut off the high power draw climate functions (heating and cooling) with one button tap. When winter hits we’ll find that the resistive heater is going to blitz our all electric range but in mild conditions where say it’s only 55-60 degrees and sunny I like the ability to disable the resistive heater and maximize my range. Best I figured out with the Jeep to do this is to shut auto off, turn the temperature down to low, and set the fan to a low level, so mimic-able but cumbersome.

  • @dbl38

    Sir, I'm from India and when I put my compass on auto ac mode, the recirculation mode is switched to fresh air mode forever....does is also happen the same way to you?

  • @bobob427

    That's the drivers side how does know the temperature on the passenger side? Independent temperature sides.

    My '21 JLUR heat has never worked well in "auto" mode. I can switch it to manual and bump up the blower speed and it will blow plenty of hot air. Turned back to "auto" and it stops blowing. Even if the engine is fully warmed up and the heat is set to 80+ and it is cold in the cabin. What is the solution?

  • @scottanderson5290

    So for duel climate control is there another sensor on the passenger side?

    Actually I believe the proper term is thermocouple (for measuring temperature whereas a thermistor is akin to a circuit breaker & if a certain temp is exceeded on say an appliance it opens the circuit:-)

    I got questions about the Auto.
    Does it turn on the A/C even if the A/C light is off? I found that during summer Auto air is way cooler than if I set it manually (to LO and full blow).
    Does it change temperature to something eles than what I set? Like if I set it to LO, but it is freezing cold outside, while it blow cold air (as my setting) or hot air?
    What make it change mode (floor, defrost, etc). By doing some testing, I know the temperature I set will affect it (it changes mode around 22-23°C).

    • @BrandonHaneline
      @BrandonHaneline  3 года назад +1

      Yes absolutely the AC light will NOT illuminate if it’s on Auto and the ac will be on. Auto is auto. Only the heavens knows the algorithm for Auto.
      I find it best on manual. I get what I want. 👍

    You know, if anyone thought of it they could have turned the slots to vertical and put two more in and it would have been another Jeep(R) trademark badge. Seven slots... I can't believe they missed that opportunity. Pass that along to your buddies at JEEP and maybe we can get a new addition?
