1957PLATO are loss is right, your a lucky man to know frankiemillerthebest, can you please tell me what he was like, Frankie is my dream man, he's all I listen to. Thank you for sharing.
Fin melodi, flott tekst, utrolig god formidlingsevne, det har du på alle sangene dine, tror på alt du ser 😊og med den fantastiske stemmen bli det helt unikt å høre på ❤briljant 👏👏
In my opinion one of the best soul vocal performances ever, and so sadly overlooked by a lot of people. Frankie has got to be up there with otis, luther etc. Was told a lot of stories about him from my dad who knew him and just so great to see exactly what he was talking about.
Love Frankie, this is the first time I've seen this version ... I have "Jealous Kind" on DVD from a 1982 Loreley Rockpalast concert, but the sound mix is a wee bit trebley on the DVD ... Ed's guitar is sounding a lot warmer here, and Frankie's voice is awesome. Oh and just to show my age the 1st time I saw a Frankie live gig was when he was with The Stoics waaaay back.
I have followed Frankie from the middle 70s as I used to work with his now ex brother in law, and he was brilliant live, the concert in Glasgow city halls in 1978 was great with his best pal the big yin (Billy Connolly) in attendance. He fell ill in 1994 and was in a coma but he managed to battle back but can no longer perform his skills. He was always at war with his record company over musical differences and this contributed to less exposure, He was better thought of in America than in UK.
every now and again I go looking for other versions of this song on youtube. But I keep coming back to this one... What a beautiful moment this is; I'm so glad it was caught on film. Tasty guitar playing too. But man, 2"49' through 3"11' just about brings me to tears every time. Awesome.
So true Alan. Been a fan for years. Until I heard this cover, I had only heard Cocker and Ray Charles versions but this one always lights a fire under me.
@undunboater Done much earlier, in the late 70s or early 80s by Delbert McClinton on his album entitled "THe Jealous Kind" Etta did a straight copy. Frankie Miller's version is GREAT!
Pete d,yea city halls gig,6 October 76,1 pound 50 a ticket, met Frankie backstage after the gig, I was 9 year old,my mum used to take me to concerts, Frankie autographed, 1st album once in a blue moon for me,Frankie millers full house at the Apollo,March 26, 77 +April 79 at the Apollo, looking at my old tickets been saving them for years, sew Frankie at the Mayfair in town early 80s, then in some other wee place in,91 I think it was, yea great night,s
@oscarittofi Thanks so much I will take a look.....heard that Etta version on blues radio station and been looking ever since.....Not to dissapointed now that I have Freddie's version....LOVE THAT SONG!!!! Thanks again for your effort.......
Frankie M's interpretation holds it's own with all the great covers of this song and in my opinion is equal to Etta James version which I always considered to be the best
THE WEE BIG MAN IS WAN I THE BEST SINGERS IN THE WORLD AND GLESGA. HE ONLY LIVED TAE SING. THE WHOLE OF GLASGOW STEPPED BEHIND FRANKE. HE KNEW WHAT HE WAS DOING. HE STAMPED FOR GLASGOW. AND THE WHOLE OF GLASGOW FOLOWED ON. WHY COS HE SANG THE RIGHT TUNEI

Me too...I want you all to myself in that one way. I'd share you in any other way. But I want you for myself...
