- Join me in the adventure of installing a new Leather steering wheel on my Jeep Renegade Sport. One of the biggest things I wished I had on my low spec Rene was a leather steering wheel. Now that is fixed and we got wheel installed for about $60 total (Tools and Wheel)

Man... you really wanted that leather wheel... nice job
Thanks, for relatively little money it is an upgrade you feel every time you drive.
Good mode. I love that heated seat & steering wheel since december
I bet, wish the sport could hook up the heated wheel.
Wow, pretty good work. I'm glad that's not a job that's on my list because it didn't look easy. Enjoyed the video anyway as I learned something. I got nearly 40k miles on my Renegade and the brakes are shot! I'm hoping you'll do a brake job video soon as I've never attempted to do brakes before. Again, nice video, but I'm sure glad I have a leather steering wheel!
Brake job is coming up soon, my Jeep needs new pads and rotors. It has just continued to stay cold in MA, and I am waiting until warmer weather before that job.
You forgot the rubber cap! Just like me 😂😂😂😂😂
Just for aditional information - from Jeep Renegade service manual : Tighten the steering wheel fixing nut to torque. 45-55 nM
Thanks for the spec. Where did you find the service manual? Or are you a tech?
Few months ago it was available in someone's dropbox.Link was shown in one of the Jeep forums. I checked, but now it isn't available any more.
Thank you very much I benefited❤️
Glad to help

the best
thanks
Good video. Is your background in auto mechanics? I have zero knowledge and experience with cars other than driving and pumping gas. Your videos are useful and interesting. Thanks for sharing.
No background in mechanics just started tinkering with my own cars 13years ago. At the end of the day, it is just a car, and most things can be done on your own with a little ingenuity.
Installed a leather wheel from a totaled donor on my Fiat 500x Pop. The wheel came with all the buttons, so didn't bother to move them over. I'm guessing because of that, none of the controls work. Its not throwing codes, but no horn, not trip computer etc. Will have to start from scratch I guess and reinstall all the buttons.
Enjoy your new wheel
You think if I wanted to use the empty buttons on my wheel for aftermarket ideas that I’d have to go this far and detach the wheel?
Depends, how are you planning to do the wiring?
I had one question. Is the hood decal from trail hawks one you put on or came factory.
Aftermarket. The hood decal was pretty simple to install, and there is a link in the description to the decal in case you want one.
Thanks, I have a yellow Jeep renegade. So, I need to dumb down it.
I have a jeep compass my18 but can't remove the airbag at all. Seems the springs are in a different position even if the steering wheel looks similar.
Hmm, it took me a long time to get it right. Both wheels look virtually the same.
@@JrsGasolineAlley true but I've spent a bounce of time and no way to find the springs. I'm afraid of cutting airbag wirings
