It's amazing how much more light they put out. My lux meter saw a decent improvement, but it doesn't capture just how much more light is scattered. Great Upgrade for sure!
Correct! And now to mention the quality of the light. Not that yellow tinge. I would like to upgrade to all leds but so far just the reverse and headlights. :)
When I was shopping around for a Renegade I thought those grills in the back were speakers lol. Nice video and I like the accessibility of the rear lights, but some tunes back there would also be cool. I have a 2.4 litre, but so far all your videos still have helped out a lot.
JeepRenegadeGuy I don't have that subwoofer option unfortunately, but am considering adding some kind of audio in the back. I don't want a big ol box though that would take up too much space. If I come up with some idea that works I will let you know. I love to tailgate, so I'm motivated here.
I over thought this. All I need is one of those tailgate party boxes with Bluetooth. I can bring it only when needed. Problem solved! Thinking about upgrading the stereo though to the higher end one with nav. Wouldn't cost too much if I could install it myself. Shouldn't be that hard, right?
I keep meaning to mock up a cardboard box with the dimensions of the "Kicker Hideaway" sub to see if it can fit in one of the back panel areas. If it can I would make a mount or something to hold it in place.
Wow, you've convinced me to upgrade my bulbs. Looking forward to you finding good bulbs that you can recommend for the front. Love your videos. Keep sharing, thanks.
@@JrsGasolineAlley Have you found a great set of DRL for the front? In Canada the Day Running Lights have been law for a couple decades but the factory ones suck! Want a good choice not afraid to pay for Cree or Osram.
I got these exact led's but i keep getting a warning on my dash saying i have a backup light out, but these do light up? how do i get rid of the warning/ Did you get the same warning on your dash?
My reverse lights don't come on... Only the little one at the bottom right hand corner. Is there a way to turn them on? Adjust them? I know bulbs work as they blink with the other lights when I lock and unlock the car...
Hey, love your vids, btw. But hey, I bought the same exact LED bulbs that you have linked in your 'info' section to this video and after installing them both, the left side stays on but quite dim. I left it alone for a while and it continued to stay on. Frustrated, I removed both LEDs and put the OEMs back on. I've been googling a solution to this but I'm coming up short. Have you any idea of what's going on or any suggestions on what should I do? I have a 2017 Renegade Trailhawk.
I've tried pulling it out, turning it and putting it back in. Still the same problem. I actually just received new bulbs from their customer service team, which I just put in, and they're still doing the same thing... I'm all out of options..
Its called "residual charge". When the back-up lights are off the wiring connect to them is coupling to other wiring that is carrying 12V. This happens because LEDs are very high resistance. My reverse LEDs were doing the same thing. I connected a 20K resistor across each reverse light socket and now no after glow when off.
Great video. I bought the same bulbs you linked in the description for my 15 Jeep Renegade TH, but I still receive an error code and they remain on and "glowing" at all times. Had to remove them. Any suggestions?
Licensee plate led bulbs ? Any ideas? I replaced my front side markers with Phillips 194 LED big big difference! About 10 bucks on amazon. I’m getting these reverse lights! Thx !!!
No issues with them, or codes. These ones have the resistor built in so nothing else needed. They do have a few min of afterburn after you turn the car off, but that is barely noticeable.
@@mikeandre9903 thanks for the reply but when I say I turned them 180 degrees, I mean I tried both right side up and upside down. Maybe I just happened to get a bum set.
I just got done installing sylvania zevo LEDs for my reverse lights. They dont stay on at all....probably because they dont come on at all. Took them out and flipped them to. Still nothing. Regular ones it is. I'm so mad.
@@JrsGasolineAlley I should & will order from your link, I ordered 4 from someone on eBay & 3 back up lights would stay dimly. Lit!... I put the original backup lights in the map light socket, it's a lot brighter!
I love the LEDs bud thank you! Just installed the headlights and reverse lights today. The reverse lights I see stay on for a few mins after the truck is off. Did yours do that too?
Glad you like em, I say it make s a big difference. The Reverse lights will have a dim afterburn, it is because they use such little power compared to the stock bulbs that it takes a bit to draw down.
I didn't think to include that in this video. They do have some afterglow. Not too bright and actually makes it look pretty neat with the shape of the reverse light reflector.
Have you noticed the reverse lights staying on when the cars off? I ordered Flash Wolves Reverse lights on Amazon and they actually stay on way after the cars been turned off and are really bright too while turned off. I sent them back for a refund. If your looking for a nice daytime run light try Beamtech 1157 leds. They are fantastic although they do stay on slightly for 5 mins or so but it's not enough to bother you.
JeepRenegadeGuy I think I did. One of them worked, then didn't want to work anymore when I moved it to the other side.. Kept telling me reverse bulb out. I bought the exact same ones using the link.
Weird. Reach out to the seller, I bet you have a defective set and they will replace them. Mine have been good so far and the Amazon reviews seem to be mostly positive.

On some of the higher end Renegades, the passenger side grill covers the factory subwoofer.

Thanks, and you will love the bulbs. Ordered another pair of parking lights for the front, so we will see how they work out.

LED bulbs run at a lower voltage than normal bulbs. You need to add a resistor to the socket. It's pretty easy
Excellent video
Thanks alot!
awesome video!! any chance you have the interior led install? cant seem to thake the dome light off 😅

I have the same problem as Nerd, switched back to original used original b/u bulbs for map lights tho.
You have to reverse the polarity of the neutron flow, lad.

I did this and now my drivers side tail light will not work the whole tail light assembly will not light up
I put those exact same bulbs and mine have a low glow on them when they're suppose to be off. Do you have that same problem?
They do glow for a little bit.
I have the same problem. So It's normal the LED remain glowing after shut them off?
@@JrsGasolineAlley does it kill your battery?

Strange, have you reached out to the company to get them replaced?
JeepRenegadeGuy yeah, they want me to try adding a resistor, which is what I was trying to avoid in the first place

I think I am going to order these license plate bulbs: amzn.to/2E1QCVx They seem well reviewed and reasonable in price.
Do they throw an error? I got some and they throw an error.

That's annoying. Give this brand a try?
Hey man...have you found any bulbs that are error free to replace the tail lights with?
I haven't tried, LEDs have a habit of a slight afterburn, and I worry that in a Brake Light, the lights might stay on longer than I intend.
TY for the post, have you changed the map lights? If so do you also have a link?

I have tried a few sets, nothing I like yet as so far they have been finicky.
I did mine. They seem to be working fine so far. Been about a month.

Did the lights sit flush with the body or was there a gap
Flush.

Nope, work seamlessly.

only for a few moments
Good video. I will have to do this. Are you going to do the brake lights too?
I am not currently planning on it as I don't see much of a need. Have you done them?
I have not. Thought about though after watching you remove the tail light in the video.
Where cam we gets these bulbsat?
