It is very easy to make! Though the kids and I prefer dandelion Syrup, we think it tastes a lot better. This is super fun to make though just for the color!
For some reason when I made violet syrup today the color was yellow but I removed the stems so that’s a bit weird… but I added natural food coloring and lemon juice in it and I got a pretty good result
Hmmm that's a hard thing to trouble shoot. If I had to take a wild guess I'd say it was left either not long enough, or too long. Or not enough was collected. Glad you made it work for you in the end though! 🙌
It will almost always turn blue, that is what the lemon juice is for after. Add a tiny drop at a time and stir well, to get to the desired final color. (It will turn pink very quickly so you really need to do a drop at a time and stir well if you want a purple/lavender color)
I've watched 4 videos so far none of them explain how to wash the flowers before steeping! Does anyone know? Is water and vinegar ok or will the vinegar affect taste?
I would NOT use vinegar. I in fact, do not wash/rinse my flowers at all. But they come from my own backyard in the country so I'm not concerned. If you wanted to I would do a light rinse with cold water.

They grow wild all over here and a lot of people consider them a weed! 😱
Oh you add lemon juice to get the final color!
Pretty cool right!!
Mine turned completely blue after boiling it is something wrong?
