- The TAC's 'Pictures of You' anti speed campaign features real families grieving over victims of the road toll.
The TAC worked with a number of special people and families who were willing to share their story in this landmark commercial and share their grief.
Angie Hart sings a cover of the song 'Pictures of You' by The Cure, as remember the people they have lost through speeding.

Towards Zero is a vision for a future free of deaths and serious injuries on our roads.
It acknowledges that as humans, we make mistakes. But when those mistakes happen on our roads we come off second best, because our bodies aren't designed to absorb high impact speeds. They never have been and never will be.

Lost one of my best mates in a motorbike accident coming up to three years ago and not one day goes by that I wish he was still here r.i.p Jason
I have never driven a car in my life and this still makes me want to apologise for speeding
Very effective and has helped me respect the speed limit more. It's put there for a reason, and the reason is to keep us safe.
Intense, sadness, warmth, regret.. Just a few emotions I felt, and I'm sure you all felt them too. Slow down guys, don't speed.. the thrill of the moment is definitely not worth the consequences which follow. Love your family. Cherrish the moments that make you smile.
this makes me sad. i can relate to the people since someone i knew died because of speeding. slow down people, you'll be glad you did when you get back to your family.
It touches you deep in your heart.
I've never cried because of a commercial until now :\
Nick Williams and
I can't watch this and not cry.
Its such a beautifull vidoe and the song fits it SO perfect!.
when i was a kid i lost 2 friends to a vehicle accident and nearly lost my mum so i beg all drivers to please slow down
I now have a child of my own. I know their pain.
Right in the Heart.
man... wow I nearly start crying :( I think this must be the worst way to miss someone.
Sends chills. Please, slow down. Speeding won’t get you there any faster if you’re dead or in jail because you killed someone else. It’s not worth speeding. Getting their late is better than not getting there at all.
Whoops! Nevermind, I missed the last part.
Well done, very emotionally resonant.
Are these actual families that have lost people to collisions? That would add a layer of intensity, I imagine.
this should be shown on television
It was originally a television commercial!
@Sammyd811 Its 'Pictures of You' by Angie Hart which was originally done by "The Cure"
beautiful
TAC keep the vids up, I love posting your vids in threads about people driving.
it pisses them off XD
cry every time
Very sad that it came down to making an ad as intense as this, to get people to slow down on the roads..
Out of all the TAC as I watched over the years this one is open my eyes about driving and being safe and all the idiots out there on the road and all the accidents all the spinning drivers all the Hoon drivers out there think they're indestructible the thing that was going to happen sooner but think again hear about people getting killed out down the road slow down don't don't drink and drive don't text and drive don't talk on the phone and drive stay safe I'm coming home to you loved ones safe and look I'm still on my way on is and I'm 30 years old but I have seen a lot of accidents over the years I have my dad is be a tow truck driver and I've seen all the wrecked cars at the shop these to take the cars to but young young men in their late teens and twents think again what look like without what do you think your family is going to go through it something happens to you in a car crash to all you idiots out there slow down and think before you drive like I said I am 30 years old and I'm still a determined to get my licence this year think before you speed
I love you Beth. Taken from us too soon
@chewbacca1010 That doesn't matter... even if they aren't... there ARE families like them out there!

Just download the video and convert it to a MP3 file. Presumably it's a version of the song for the purposes of this ad.
@chewbacca1010 yeah they are the real families. Very to imagine the willingness to participate, but, herioc never the less
Who sings this?
@chewbacca1010 i believe so
@chewbacca1010 They are i had a family friend who lost his son in a car accident asked to do one of these adds.
Does anyone know the name of the song?
It's a cover of Pictures of You by The Cure, but I'm afraid I don't know who's singing here.
Australian singer, Angie Hart.

:(
It might not be very respectful, but what's the name of this song? :)
cjhrjone[54] It's a cover version of Pictures Of You, by The Cure from their 1989 album Disintegration.
pictures of you by the cure, but this one is a cover. read the description
It's by The Cure, and called The Pictures
Edit: Or Pictures of you
It's better to loose a minut from your life than to loose your life in a minut.Slow down and don't get distracted ..
People in Europe travel at much higher speeds on the freeways and they have far less accidents compared to Australia. Wanna know why? Because they get better driver training. They check their mirrors before swapping lanes, slow cars stick on the LEFT lane, cruising on the MIDDLE and overtaking on the RIGHT lane only. Unlike some road hogs taking all the lanes as their own and travel below the speed limit. No matter how much they reduce the speed limits in Australia we will still have road tolls.
These videos by the .TAC are rubbish. They do not save lives.
All they do is cause grief
Fact is, NO ONE sets out on his or her journey determined to kill someone, not the hoon or the most law abiding under us.
That's why they are called accidents!
Anything else is suicide.
There are always innocent victims, it wouldn't have mattered had they watched these adds from dawn till dusk!
It's sad but with over 15 million cars on the road, people will lose their lives, or sustain injury.
You can't really be having a go at them for trying - if it works or not who cares. It's not as if they're amplifying the problem whether it's the right issue to tackle or not. At least it's creating some level of awareness, it's a gutwrenching ad.
I appreciate this is nine years ago, but I disagree.
There is never an accident. Everything that happens on this universe is underpinned choice. There is not one fatality on roads in Australia that is accidental, they are all from choices people make. People choose how they drive and what speed they drive at. They choose when to break, accelerate. They choose how far to look ahead. They choose how much to respond to hazards and situations before they exist. People choose how long they indicate for and how thorough they are with their head checks. Every poor decision on the road, no matter how minor, is the driver making the choice to potentially end someones life - every single time. Couldn't be bothered doing a head check before turning left into your home street, even though you checked every turn before? Too bad. You've just killed Sally on her bike - and it was all your actions, and all your choice. Drivers have two options on roads - to kill someone else or themselves or to kill no one at all.
