Nice
Thank you for making these clips! I do make time during the week to catch up on the VODs but it does help when I’m trying to find a specific recipe/etc 🙏🏽
Yeah this approach is pretty much what Sey told me to do when I emailed them. I was having a lot of problems with astringency with their coffees. Melodrip 1:20 ratio. 15g in/ 300g out. 100g bloom 1 min. Then a 200g pour. Clarity and sweetness forward- which are the qualities I aim for when I brew. I find that this recipe mainly works well with ultralights. If there's any roast flavor in the bean it will obscure the beans' inherent flavor with chocolate notes. So I use this recipe to differentiate between ultralight and light roasts. It's quite a different experience than a typical cup of coffee. Kind of reminds me of drinking white tea or high end green tea. Awesome video!
No bare kettle pour at all?
What's the grind size and tbt?
Right when I was contemplating getting g the Melodrip. Thanks my man! I needed this
That late harvest Burmudez coffee from Sey smells really good during the bloom. I’ll have to try this method and see how it compares to my normal V60 method. I really like the different controls you can get with the melodrip, opens up a bunch of possibilities.
Interesting take. I hadent thought about clarity in the context of stretching the profile and brightness being about compressing it.
The Moccamaster technique... 😅
You really threw me for a loop using the xbloom for the grinder lol, pretty solid for clarity? Not knocking it, didn't know it was useful for the grinder.
Tried it this morning, very, very interesting. Completely different tones. Very effective way to get a balanced cup. Great to have this in my coffee brewing toolbox.
As a long time Sey subscriber, I’ve never seen a black card before
Kinda like the pocket science high clarity recipe with the only difference in grind size
Mellow drip vs pouring over a spoon to break the stream. Could a spoon push fines around too?
Yes
The blue weighing/dosing thing! I need it! What is it? Anyone?
Is the melodrip worth it? Like do you actually notice an improvement in brews using it?
I like mine, I use it selectively
Sometimes it feels like a cheat code. I'd say it's a great addition to any pour over collection.
Absolutely worth it.
Yes. It’s probably the best $30 you can spend to diversify your pour over cups
Well it allows you to do this kind of brewing technique. Whether that's worth it to you is subjective. You can likely do the same with different distributors like Hario's Drip assist
Bro just get one of those watering cans 😂
Like button = SMASHED
How would this "harmonious" v60 differ from an Orea flat bottom brew? I find the Orea can balance things out as you describe, without much of a difference in pouring technique, but I don't know what you're tasting so I can't really know for sure :)
Experimenting now. Will report later
And?
@ it was actually surprising clear. I have a K Ultra hand grinder
I hope that distributor is not plastic. The amount of microplastics released into your coffee is most likely over 😢6million
There are so many different kinds of thermoplastics in existence it's not like all plastics r the exact same thing please stop spreading fear
Wait till you hear about the dripper 😂
