As long as you follow Manga format and the stories are compelling, I think it deserves the category of "Manga." Thanks so much for what you do, and your beautiful art. No Gatekeepers! 💜

I wonder when the next tezuka awards competition is. I wasn’t able to enter last time because of school but ever since I’ve heard about Jump + and how authors have more freedoms in terms of release scheduling and drawing whatever I want I really wanted to shoot my shot
The way you described manga, would that also make Scott Pilgrim considered manga, the author Brian Lee O’Mallay took inspiration from manga to make his series.
@@inspired.author I forgot to add to 1 detail, I still have the series in black and white, when I went to Comic-con in Seattle that’s when I saw the series in color, so it seems like the series was black and white beforehand.
I’ve been working on a manga since I was in 8th grade so ten years ago and it’s been a long road of development and I have a full team of friends who are helping me and we’re on the road to getting ready to release it slowly but surely.
that video just raise my mood, im gonna sub tight now. you gave me hope that I still got a chance to achieve my dream. but how I can get to talk to some Japanese publisher?
How about you make a series on your channel where you randomly pick 3 viewers that want to show you their finished and illustrated Manga or comic whatever. You take like maybe 2 minutes to give them your opinion on the first chapter of each series and rate it from 1-10. It would help you to get an easy video out each week and your viewers could get easy exposure to an audience. So it's a win win for everybody.
I enjoy people's opinions on this topic and I'm always open to their entire view, but personally I say yes...yes they are. doesn't matter where it's from more over the intention and I'm sure folk would agree with me
I think the nature of language plays a role. In English, manga, manhwa and manhua look completely different from each other. In East Asia, people use the same set of logograms and pronounce the logograms indigenously. So, from a Chinese point of view or a Korean point of view, they might not think of themselves as contributing to something uniquely Japanese. They are contributing to a body of literature with drawings and speech bubbles, and this body of literature is labelled as the same set of logograms, equivalent to Western comics. Western comics may appear in the form of single illustrations, a comic strip or an entire comicbook. And I think it is rooted in satire and humor. Hence the name **comics**. It just so happens that the form of literature is very similar to the East Asian variety. I suppose that if you are following the western tradition of comicbook-making, then that is a comic. However, if you are following the Japanese tradition, then you can call it manga.
Hey just wanna ask I wonder how Light novel gets anime adaptation! Etoo... I currently working one with it so i wonder how to make it famous. Someone help me out pls🙏🙏🙏

Brandon, what’s ur advice for a fellow 17 year old from the Uk who has dreams of becoming a mangaka and one of the greats but doesn’t want to commit because of the unhealthy lifestyle, i heard u go gym 2 hours everyday and i would love to maintain a healthy lifestyle while doing manga but if i don’t go all in i’ll regret it in the future
I would recommend either decide if you want to go with traditional publisher or self publishing. Traditional publishers are like Viz, Seven Seas, Yen Press, etc. Self Publishing is like Amazon, Ingram Sparks, Viz Originals, etc. Traditional Publishing you have a higher chance of getting noticed if the publisher is bigger, you make less off books than self publishing, be careful of publishers that will try to steal you copyrights, usually get an editor that will make suggestions whether it be for the story/art/grammar, sometimes get an advance before publishing, expect to get rejected a lot for your submissions. Self publishing no editor, make more off books, less chance of getting noticed, can do either print on demand/ digital/ publishing books in bookstore (be careful with publishing books in bookstore if they don’t sell because they will sell it back to you if the publisher allows it like Ingram Sparks allows it while Amazon doesn’t).
100% Contest. There are huge publishers from around the world and artists who are sometimes the judges of these contests. One example is Clip Studio International comic/manga contest. It has huge publishers such as Shueisha and Kodansha. The contest literally says on it “get scouted by big-name publishers” and has grand prizes for it. The problem is it is difficult to win and get noticed by them.
i think most people would say its manga if it more or less fits the typical format. vocal minority online wants it to stay weeby and pure japanese and will attack you if you dont agree
@@nickjaxon1317 It's similar to Radiant but it's also different. It was also made in France but in the beginning it was a game called "Dofus". They made some BD(french comics) about it. Then they made Wakfu, a french cartoon that takes place after the story of the game. The art style changed and is more similar to some chibi anime(the 4th season is coming soon btw). Finaly they made a manga about this series.

As long as foreign manga has nothing to do with lgbtq , SJW and politician etc than its considered to be manga

There are shit tons of Japanese manga that has themes about social issues and lgbt themes, you stupid fucking chud.
so much native japanese manga with gay and gender bending characters tho. but sure the spoon feeding politics usually gives away that its american
Just make a vampire manga
