A little tip with the limes as well. If you grate off the zest of the limes and peel away the remaining pith (the white stuff surrounding the fruit), it will remove some bitterness if the limeade is too bitter for you 😊
@@deykno87I made this a couple days ago with lemons, blended the whole lemon....and despite straining and adding lots of condensed milk, it was still really bitter 😬 even if I diluted it, added more sugar, and such, that bitterness remains. Same with lemonade, If you soak the lemon peels in sugar overnight and then add them to the lemonade…..the sugar soaks up the deep lemons flavor from the peels and adds it bad into the lemonade. Not sour or bitter but a flavor explosion
@@ThePrayinmantiz mix straight sugar into the lemon peels. It won’t look like much but stir the sugar in the lemon peels and leave in the refrigerator overnight in the morning there will be juice in the bowl and add it all to water mixture and the water will extract the deep lemon flavor and sugar.
Brazilian limeade is amazing and so is Vietnamese lemonade. With Brazilian limeade, it's all about the condense milk as that's the secret. With Vietnamese lemonade, it's the exact same as American lemonade but, they add a little bit of salt into it, which then completely changes the taste. Well, might as well try Vietnamese coffee as well as that's amazingly good and also uses condense milk as a sweetener.

@@isaac4273 I had to look it up as to why you guys call it Swiss lemonade. Looks like it's because of the condensed milk as that was marketed by the Swiss in the 1940s. Google is my friend.
The white flesh under the skin-the “pulp,” or also known as pith- can cause the flavor of this drink to be unpleasantly bitter when you blend the limes whole, but it depends on what kind of limes you’re using. Jordan appears to be using a smaller, rounder variety of lime that has a thinner layer of pith. If your limes have a lot of pith in them, you can zest the skin into the blender and discard the pith before blending the rest of the lime to avoid this.
It's its own thing - the lime flavor is distinctly different than key limes, but now you have me wanting to try it with key limes - if you try it, it might be worth going by weight. 4 limes are probably equal to something like 12-20 key limes (depending on sizes), so weight is probably a better measure.
@@kunichuck That's how it is normally made. I found out about this drink several months ago and am obsessed with it. But yes, quarter your limes and blend them with the water first. Strain that mixture and then blend it with condensed milk (you don't need to add sugar).

When i was visiting the philippines with my family to see my extended family, i saw something on the restaurant menu that looked curious so i tried it. I refilled it so many times i didn’t even keep track. It was cucumber lemonade. Now, normally, i don’t really like cucumbers, but this really changed my perspective on it. In my opinion, it was way more refreshing than regular lemonade.
I recommend just squeezing the limes if you're going to make a lot of it, or zesting it and then peeling, blending it with the peels makes it bitter faster (i know it's not really the peel but idk the word for it), if you're going to just make enough to drink in the moment then it's fine most of the time
Fun fact: You can make bucees/gift shop fudge (the kind that costs $20 per pound) with 14oz sweetened condensed milk (You can also use stevia sweetened or coconut condensed for dietary requirements) per 16oz of chips (If you want chocolate, use chocolate, else you can use peanut butter, cherry, mint, etc.) Melt them together in the microwave for 30 seconds at a time to prevent burning, then spread into a baking pan, and put on the top rack of the fridge for 1 hour or until hardened.
You can make it how you want, really no need for the sugar with sweetened condensed milk it's enough. Brazilian lemonade is also notoriously bitter because of using the whole lime including the pith thats where the bitterness is. So you zest your limes then cut the limes up without the pith. The lemonade will have NO BITTERNESS.
Another amazing tip for this is if you dont like the slight bitterness, then you should zest the limes before putting it in the blender and get rid of the white part since that is what causes the bitterness but make sure to still include the green outer part

Hi, yeah, the condensed milk is good, and yet I usually try to go against my mother's recipes and only use half of the condensed milk. If you add a bit, not a lot,, not a spoon mountain, of salt, and maybe heat the sugar up slightly so it caramelizes, aint gonna care if people use more sugar in the actual recipes, yours going to turn sweeter (if, you heat it up the right enough way, there isn't a right way but there are wrong ways or mixtures to heat up sugar)...
I saw this recipe months back, and decided to make it earlier this week (before this video) since I had both lemons and condensed milk on hand...it was very bitter. Either remove the pith (white part) or use limes as the recipes recommend since they tend to have way less pith in comparison to lemons...unless you really like bitter stuff. It's certainly refreshing and creamy, but I would have enjoyed it more if it tasted more like sweet or sour lemonade. I'm looking forward to trying it again with limes ☺️
Okay I tried it today with a lime. I only used 1/3 of the peel/pith just in case, but it's not bitter at all 🙏 I may try the whole lime next time if that's the case! Your kitty 🐈 is adorable as well.
Cucumbers are very healthy thanks for the reminder ! Delicious when added to lemonade
I love the cucumber lime Gatorade if u ever get to try it tbh it's pretty good
Looks so delish. I bet it's great made with lemons.
This man is just plain incredible dude he can talk about drinking lemonade like it was a war story😂
I recommend just squeezing the limes if you're going to make a lot of it, or zesting it and then peeling, blending it with the peels makes it bitter faster (i know it's not really the peel but idk the word for it), if you're going to just make enough to drink in the moment then it's fine most of the time
Im going to force my dad to make me this drink
Sounds about right! Cause if your mom makes it, it won't be as good cause Moms measure too much.
I'll be your dad
@@AmbitionIsaMust115 Damn it dude! I came here to say this XD mas você não fala portugues então tenho a vantagem

That looks so good
You can make it how you want, really no need for the sugar with sweetened condensed milk it's enough. Brazilian lemonade is also notoriously bitter because of using the whole lime including the pith thats where the bitterness is. So you zest your limes then cut the limes up without the pith. The lemonade will have NO BITTERNESS.
Jordan be finding new best drinks every few weeks
The oh oh…had me giggling from Jordan’s glee.
I have tried this before and no joke it’s heavenly
I gotta try it
@@sidsrivastava6987 yes you definitely do!
@@sidsrivastava6987 Did you try it?
Another amazing tip for this is if you dont like the slight bitterness, then you should zest the limes before putting it in the blender and get rid of the white part since that is what causes the bitterness but make sure to still include the green outer part
Man I can't explain why, but I freakn love ur videos
*drinks the drink* OooOoOoOooOoOhObOhOLOooOoO
Jordan is at peak happiness right now
Sorry bruh, Im still blown away and fully commited to the "Kool-aid-packet-in-the-Simply-Lemonade" thing. You are truly a man of the people. I'm bookmarkin' this one tho.
My man! Me and my son ordered a variety pack of Kool Aid flavors on Amazon and have been testing new combos. Sharklberry Fin and Mango Pineapple and the truth! And Lemon Lime........... looks like Hulk piss but DAYUM!
I always find it funny whenever I see an influencer make anything with a tin of condensed milk and are surprised when it tastes good
Obviously it tastes good, it has like 100g of sugar in it
@@shivinpokemonit’s 21 grams per ounce so he’s got 294 grams of sugar with the SCM + 1/3 cup of sugar. Sweet baby Jesus
@@mikecantreedoh my satan that's hella sugar
Hi, yeah, the condensed milk is good, and yet I usually try to go against my mother's recipes and only use half of the condensed milk.
If you add a bit, not a lot,, not a spoon mountain, of salt, and maybe heat the sugar up slightly so it caramelizes, aint gonna care if people use more sugar in the actual recipes, yours going to turn sweeter (if, you heat it up the right enough way, there isn't a right way but there are wrong ways or mixtures to heat up sugar)...
@mikecantreed oh god thats a lot
294 grams of sugar 💀
I will def have to try that 😂 I loved your reaction to it lol
You know it’s good when he no longer speaks like he is telling you a secret, and is enthusiastic
His reactions get better over time
I saw this recipe months back, and decided to make it earlier this week (before this video) since I had both lemons and condensed milk on hand...it was very bitter.
I don't mind a hint of bitterness, but I don't want bitter to be the main node and the main aftertaste like it was last time when I used a whole lemon 😅 I really couldn't finish it
@@kamekomiyamora nah girl, zest the lime and try not to make zest the white part. I did 4 limes and zested the skin and it was delicious. I try to blend 2/3 more limes in the same batch and then it came out bitter🤦🏽♀️
@@xtelfolaj haha I'll try just zesting next time! Thankfully, we got a thin garlic grater thingy, but just being able to cut em and throw em in is nice when you're lazy 🤭 I was wondering if the pith adds to the thickness/creaminess at all, cause if we wanted a watery drink with a bit more oomph, we could just make normal lemonade and add some zest to it 🤔 but regardless, a tastier drink is always preferred! 😋
@@xtelfolaj so I tried it your way, and it's really good! Didn't get to add as much zest cause this lime's skin wasn't as nice as the other one (UberEats groceries, no control). It's just as tasty, more lemony for sure, and you avoid the grittiness that the pith may add when blended, so it's really smooth! 😍
@@kamekomiyamora I'm so happy it tasted good. I used 4 limes, 6 cups water and coconut condensed milk (since I'm lactose intolerant) and it was amazing it gave a coconut lme taste. I have to make it again one of these months
Well I know what drink I’m making for Thanksgiving. Thanks, Jordan!
Awesome video man 😎
Looks delicious!
I can't believe Jordan is just now discovering this drink, it's the best summer drink hands down
You should try Egyptian Lemon Mint Juice next. It's peeled lemons, mint leaves, sugar, and ice.
Sweetened condensed milk is the nectar of the gods and makes everything better.
Sweet😅en condensed milk is diabetes in a can
Having lived I Brazil for two years, I can positively say that this limeade is as common there as lemonade is here in the states. It’s sooooo goooood
I love your reactions. 😆
Nooo Jordan, you're not supposed to put the green part of the peel.
You gotta peel it off like you'd do with an orange!
Come to Brazil to a barbecue, we're gonna make you caipirinha as well.
Aqui fazemos limonada com casca às vezes. Tem que tomar na hora (!!) pq amarga muito mais rápido. Mas, pelo q sei, importante é tirar esse miolo branco.
That's what I was wondering; it seemed like a lot of peel when I was watching lol
Any Brazilian food / drink that has fruit from Brazil gotta be good man
Pro tip: Add the liquids first, and then add the ice and fruit.
It blends way better and is less likely to get stuck.
As a mexican, I can say limes taste good with EVERY SINGLE ONE of our dishes
Wow this looks so good
I wish I could react to life the way this man reacts to food😂
There's still time 😅
fun fact: in Brazil we call it swiss lemonade LUL
Life hack: buy a large lemonade with no ice from Chik fil a, and order some of their ice cream, and then you can store them in the fridge/freezer and blend them up yourself whenever you want one of their frosted lemonade (like on Sundays)
Thanks to your video, I try it for the first time last night.
And let's just say I found my drink for when summer time comes around. Cheers Jordan 🍻 Thank You.
That looks amazing
"Four cups of water AND four cups of ice", basically two cups of condensed milk and enough limes to take up two more cups of space. Sir that is a 6 cup blender.
My glucose monitor started beeping from me just watching the stuff get put into the blender. Which is odd since all my monitors boxed up in storage lol
Speaking of good drinks, I always loved the vanilla iced coffee that IHOP had. It's a shame they don't have it anymore, I used to chug multiple glasses anytime I was there I haven't been able to find any sort of equivalent replacement. Definitely would make my day if you actually had the recipe/brand for it
Yo I remember when they used to have that iced coffee and it was free refills. Those were the days.
Man I gotta give it to ya seriously! This is the only recipe online I've ever bought the very next evening OMW home from work.. ITS THE BEST THING SINCE SLICED BREAD!! 🎉
Nice to see cool GenX dudes confidently making content - keep it up! I'm not on myspace anymore either man, you got this :)
Sweetened condensed milk is one of the three ingredients of my favorite "no-fail fudge" recipe (the other two are chocolate chips and butter), so I am not at ALL surprised at the idea of it bringing a sweet richness to that drink.
Thanks for sharing is just use the lazy microwave method with marshmallow scm & chips of choice for the flavor.🙌🕊️
I think I’m going to try making this with a bunch of different citrus fruit to see which is the best.
If you like it, that’s fine. But I just wanted to prepare anyone about to try this … expect a very strong lime peel taste. It ruined the experience for me but you may like it.
considering jordan is the most calm speaking person ive seen, this is mad funny
Recipe (revised with some tips from the comments):
4 limes
tip 1: can remove central pith of the limes to reduce some bitter taste
tip 2: heat limes in the microwaves for 3-5 seconds, roll the limes like stress balls
-> wash with soap and cut into 1/8 pieces
4 cups of water
-> blend in blender for less than 10 seconds
-> strain it
-> rinse blender, add lime-water back to the blender with the following:
14 oz of condense milk
4 cups of ice (can add less so it does not become clumpy)
1/3 cup of sugar
-> blend
0:17 why was that so cool to me

It's Soo good... You can also do a strawberry version. Just blend up 2-4 frozen strawberries with it
funnily enough here in brazil we call that a "Swiss lemonade", our regular lemonades are already made with limes 99,9% of the time
