Locks will never be boring to me. Everyone of them are a new experience. I can watch them all day long. Out of the views, they are the best things to watch.
After thirty plus years I am growing bored with locks. 😉
@@NarrowboatJourneys oh!!! I’m sorry. I thought you was talking about us. I totally understand. And then there is the Gongoozlers too. They just stand around and watch you work. If I lived in England, I would spend my spare retirement time down by the canal helping opening and closing locks. You can count on that. ❤️
The stone work is really lovely..I believe these locks are most interesting as well as the bridges to..truly lovely canal! Thank you so much...!😊
🐱Nice touch, to see the four legged children come out to investigate their new surroundings.😺
Thank you. They make regular appearances at the end of my cruising videos.
Hi Phil well done yet another lovely vlog. We really love the reflection off the water when you approach the canal bridges . Such a lovely part of Britain. Take Care.
Thanks 👍
an excellent video along the Macclesfied and Bosley locks, thank you
Blimey Phil, who needs gym membership when you have lock sequences like that!
And I didn't show all of them. Six is normally my limit per trip.
Thank you for another relaxing Vid, you are most likely getting up when us in the states are going to bed :-) have a good day, give the Kitty's a hug!!!
Thank you. Good night. :-)
Another great video, and a long day for you. Take care :-)
Thanks, you too!
Real nice stone work in the Bosley locks, nice indeed.
One of my favourite canals......though I might not enjoy working the locks if I were singlehanded! I love looking back at The Cloud from the higher locks. Enjoy your cruising Phil x
Glad to see you are well, you wouldn’t want to that every day!
Thanks Phil, always amazes me the work that went into building the locks. Hope you are well.
Yes, those locks were certainly built to last.
Wonder what the kitties think or do when the boat stops /starts / goes through locks with all the rushing water sounds and gates clanking. 😸😸 I'm sure these guys are used to all that now.
They don't seem to be bothered by it.
That was a brilliant vlog. I felt tired just watching you go through all those locks!
Thank you. I was glad when it was over. The canal gets much easier after the locks.
...too much fun at 4:13...
I did wonder where that wooden footbridge after bridge 59 went, as you can see the towpath next to it
Very much enjoyed this one. Thanks for another relaxing experience.
Completely enchanted by your channel.
Thank you. Glad you like my videos. :-)
I really like Fran and Rich, Floating Our Boat...I enjoy their walks around towns, and Fran talks about herbs and gardening. Did you get to say hi to them in person?
Yes, I had time to say hello.
Very impressive backing! Notveasy.
My boat is pretty hopeless in reverse, but ok if it's not too windy.
Some lovely scenery again. Yes I was surprised to see Midge come out first, I wonder if Bushka minds though he didn't seem to. 👍🏻😊
Bushka was sitting on the kitchen worktop, not waiting by the door like he usually does. Midge got a head start!
Thanks, enjoyed it! Lots of work.
Really enjoyed the vlog. Quite a formidable commitment though, 12 locks in a day singlehanded. Well done. We bet you slept well that night.
Re-watching to prepare for my journey tomorrow!
Watch out for the leaky one!
@@NarrowboatJourneys No 6 i think it was 👍
Lovely and relaxing, thankyou
You're welcome 😊
Rush hour on the canal , I must admit I find those deep locks ( they appear deep to me ) to be quite daunting and over bearing .
Take care .
These weren't too bad, just too many of them for my liking. I don't like deeper locks, or wide locks very much.
Must be hard on your own injoy watching keep safe 😎
It sure is. It seemed easier 20 years ago for some reason...? ;-)
@@NarrowboatJourneys we all feel like that 🤸🤸🏃🏃
G'day Phil,
I've just found out that if I watch the advertisements, it's to your financial advantage.
Perhaps we the followers of your channel can make this small sacrifice and refrain from hitting the skip-adds option.
Thanks for the vlogs.
Douglas.
It certainly does help. Thank you.
Good afternoon Phil Good video! That was a a good date on your video. June 16th was my Birthday! I'm 61 From Ray Enjoy your evening!
Thanks Ray. Happy Birthday (even if it is late).
@@NarrowboatJourneys Thank-you Phil😀
Enjoyed the vlog your getting nearer to where we live just outside macclesfield at higher hurdsfield at the side of canal take care and thankyou
Thank you. I'll get there eventually. Not in any rush this year.
What a tranquil peaceful journey. I must say the video quality from the bow camera is exceptional. What camera is it?
It's a dash camera - Cobra CDR-820
Too bad about leaky gates when there's a shortage of water!
Most of them were pretty good. I was quite surprised.
Are you taking applications for crew member? I'll crank your lock gates. ;-)
why were they padlocking the locks is it because of lockdown ?
I mentioned that at the beginning - low water levels. ;-)
@@NarrowboatJourneys Ahh sorry must have been when I went to go n get me cuppa tea ;) enjoying the videos and looking for a boat myself now it's gone all Steven King ;) stay safe :O)
Bit of a long procession of boats up and down.....you would not wasn’t that too often,,,,,
The lock flight had been closed for weeks to save water. There were a lot of boats waiting to use them on that day.
