You can see on Johnny Thunders' death certificate that he suffered from terminal lymph node Leukemia, and you can also read that he had a starting cirrhosis of the liver. Something that (heavy) users can get when they used dope or drink for a long time. Johnny was in Sweden when he found out that he was terminal ill in 1988, on the exact same day that his Swedish daughter Jamie was born, so I think he wouldn't want his young family to suffer and never told anyone. Everyone would think he died of too much drugs anyway, but in his certificate was said that the methadone and coke level wasn't enough to kill him. I think these guys robbed him on his last evening in New Orleans cause they probably saw him as an easy target. Most likely they worked him to the ground and left him laying there. They went with the $3000,- for the album, and his methadone, etc. Around 1:00 o' clock at night the girl at the front desk of the St. Peter's Guest House got a phonecall from his room but she didn't answer for one reason or another, and he was found the next day laying dead on the ground. The girl was very upset that she didn't answered his call and was in tears. In Looking For Johnny you hear about the last meeting between Jerry Nolan and Johhny, and it was clear to Jerry that Johnny was sick, he was very thin and had bruises and had lumbs and bumbs all over his body. They shaked hands in the same place they first met for the New York Dolls, so Jerry felt it was like a goodbye, and he was right. The next year Jerry was gone too, he was heartbroken over Johnny's death and got sick too.. A sad ending for such a great rock & roll couple, but there's so much music brought out from them the last years, and here on YT, amazing! And from all the other related persons and bands, it's a whole world of music!!! R.I.P to all great rock & rollers!
