Hm. JCR? That seems to ring a bell. Well done anyway. The typical thing is that the much maligned and underrated CS70m offered that function off the shelf. At least someone must have been doing his homework when it was developed. Another great improvement was that the ring mod settings where fully programmable. Of course the retrograde steps have been documented more often. No better cliché then a commonly savoured one. I on the other hand have trouble remembering who sold me his CS70M for a very friendly sum years ago (inject sound of me scratching my head):-)
I second that! Please do. I have two of them and one is in restoration, perfect time to do it. Need a waveshaper chip IG00158 currently. Either of you two have one you can part with? It is the very 1st CS-80 ever made, No serial number. Purchased from an old timer who got it from Ray Charles. I hate seeing it linger in restoration limbo. Thank for the video, More please:)
@@Tommysynth @@Tommysynth My repair guy Wes taggert (used by Moog Foundation to prepare Memorymoogs for their raffles) has it down in Florida in restoration limbo for the last 3 years waiting on finding a functional Waveshaper chip IG00158 that doesn't require purchasing and dismantling a donor synth (any chance you have a source for one?) He used to live close by where I am in Ohio, but semi retired to the Tampa area. Since he had performed the diagnosis and started the restoration I felt it better that the needed repairs be performed by one person and not a fragmented effort if at all possible. Is taking way too long. I have a sneakin' suspicion that it has gone to a semi-permanent place at the bottom of the repair cue. Also, I'm certain I have a photo somewhere in some obscure folder on my computer. I'll check. Just a disclaimer, although there is no evidence of a serial number anywhere on the CS-80, it may not be the first. I have done some basic research on its provenance. It does have one difference from other CS-80's in that as my memory serves, has a different expression pedal jack than all the others. I believe this is also true for the one showcased by Yamaha at NAMM 2018, that was found in a room at their headquarters. The old guy I brought it from said he had gotten it from Ray Charles. I reached out to Yamaha corporate, to see if I can corroborate some of this, but not much so far. The guy at Yamaha from the 2108 NAMM video has expressed an interest, and I am hoping to enlist him on some fact finding. Anyhow, I hope to get it back in my hands someday. I'd pay a huge debt of gratitude if someone can help me find the chip that's needed, as it will help with testing it for other repairs that might be necessary. Adam
Stereofied mine today. Definitely adds dimension & depth!
Thanks for sharing. This was awesome!
Fantastic mod !!

Yes. The stereo width/depth of the CS-70M is what prompted me to mod the CS-80 here in the studio. Both are awesome synths!
There's so little info on the CS-70, no good RUclips demonstrations of it. It's a very odd synth.
Hey, I tried my best@@F0nkyNinja
hello can I have the technical scheme, also I would like to do the same with my cs80!
