    I just got the Laredo 2017 in the same color and specs, but mine is a 4x4. I was wondering, down the road, can the 8inch screen with navigation be added? I love the ride, so quiet, so smooth and sooo roomy. It's mind-blowing with all the features to learn and sitting in the SUV in NY heat playing with all of the buttons is ..well... time-consuming and FRUSTRATING!! lol (Yes I have AC- but the sun reflected through the windows is annoying) thanks for the Vid, it made life easier for me ♥

    Great videos Mike, I have watched yours on many models and you do a great job. I ended up getting the 17 grand Cherokee Laredo 4x4 base yesterday. Right now is a great time as Jeep is marking down last years models. I just wanted to put something out there that I have been unable to find on line and that is the problem I have at being 6'5" and 300 pounds. Because of my size and desire to buy only American manufacturers it really limits my choices. My short list was the Ford Explorer and Jeep Grand Cherokee, the Jeep fitting me better and I thought the fit and finish of the rig better then Explorer base models and more standard options it appears. Although having the extra seat would be nice, but my clan is all big so a little difficult fitting the Explorer. Its really hard finding a rig for big or tall people, and as we age getting in and out of some cars is very difficult. Great job on the Cherokee, I hope its as good as my 04 Dodge Ram 1500. Its been trouble free at 187k miles. I have owned Suburbans and Expeditions in the past, this Jeep fit and finish is much better IMO.

    I wonder how much are these models now planning on picking up a 2017 Laredo like this probably summer of 2021 w like 40/50k on it $15-20k?

    • @XxAlex530xX
      @XxAlex530xX 4 года назад +2

      Right now it's cheaper, personally, I would go for a 2014-2016 Overland or Limited Edition Jeep. Way more features and similar price. I picked myself up a 2015 Overland Grand Cherokee, it has Remote Start, heated and ventilated seats, panoramic sunroof, and more options on the keyfob. It was 19k. The Laredo just has basic features but still a very nice car!

      Argonaut congrats on the purchase it’s my dream suv! 😍 That’s a helluva deal for that model u got! I’m also eyeing that as well 2016 overland v6 my budget is $16k-$20k so imma let this pandemic discount ride out till last minute like end of 2021 I heard tons of cars bout to be unleashed by rental car companies due to this pandemic can’t wait! Right now my 07 jgc laredo just hit 178K rolled her off dealership back in 2009 w 18k on it and she still runs amazing! Btw how much mileage does your 15 overland have when u picked her up? Financed or cash?

    • @XxAlex530xX
      @XxAlex530xX 4 года назад +1

      @@lstruggy It's an amazing SUV! Also, that was my budget as well! I couldn't wait anymore and I live in a small town in California I found this deal 10 minutes away from my home from a private seller that's why it was a bit cheaper. Although, I do have to pay sales taxes when the DMV opens so it's around 20k after that. I would ride it out as well I use to look every day and I looked today and some Jeeps have gotten 1,500 cheaper so keep waiting. This Jeep has 70k miles. It was very hard to find an overland with that low of miles. I don't think the owner knew it was an Overland model lol he was a wealthy older man but he was very nice. I paid cash for mine I had been saving for a while now. Also, an 07 Jeep must be awesome! I had a 1996 GC Limited it has 167k miles and we still have it. It still runs amazing! I love that car and I might still use it because of its a V8 and I miss it lol. It was hard to get use to the new car at first since my Jeep was very old!

    • @lstruggy
      @lstruggy 4 года назад +1

      Argonaut hahaaa that’s a good problem to have trying to get used to the new whip compared to the old one makes it all worth it doesn’t it all those times not eating out not going out to save 👍🏽 I’m in that boat right now! I will probably spend the next 18 months trying to track this 2016 overland v6 model which is totally fine, times on my side and yes our old school jgc always fun to drive I live here in the valley Las Vegas its currently a smooth 100d weather it was 110 the previous 5 days tho lol, also be going private seller when the time comes for more savings! I’ll keep u posted w my jgc hunt fam please stay well & healthy 🤙🏽

    start / stop feature is very noticeable and it takes a second before starting up.

    • @MikesCarInfo
      @MikesCarInfo  8 лет назад +1

      I guess it depends on the vehicle.

    • @Ktheodoss
      @Ktheodoss 8 лет назад +3

      I have 3 cars, one is a 2016 Grand Cherokee Limited, and they are all noticeable. But more importantly the feature can be a bit dangerous if you forget. You could be on an entrance lane of an expressway, stopped and waiting for that moment to hit the gas and get onto the quick moving traffic. The engine will stop. You then hit the gas but instead of zooming into the lane, there is a little pause for the engine to start which screws up your timing more than you might think. I just bypass right away when I initially start it. And after 4,000 miles I have averaged 21.4 miles to the gallon - which I think is excellent for a vehicle of this size, power, and capability. Bypass the feature, it's a silly gimmick that doesn't do much for fuel efficiency.

    • @CAPTJ696
      @CAPTJ696 8 лет назад +1

      I today purchased a 2017 Limited and reading your post has me thinking maybe having the engine stop/start might be dangerous so how can I restore to full power. Thx.

    • @Ktheodoss
      @Ktheodoss 8 лет назад +1

      I don't know how to permanently bypass the start/stop function, But you can bypass it temporarily by pressing the "A" button. The button has an A with the word OFF underneath the A. But you'll have to remember to do it every time you start the car.

    • @juanev425
      @juanev425 8 лет назад +1

      I might of not understood but if you turn off the start/stop feature and you turn off your engine, does it revert back to "on" the next time you turn on your vehicle?

      I have 3 grand Cherokee's 2011 to present, all have been problem free. This generation of grand Cherokee actually has Mercedes influence in it since jeep used to be partners with them. I used to have a 2000 grand Cherokee and you can feel the luxury Mercedes influence in these newer ones.

      How is the ride quality? I commute to work 50 miles to and 50 miles back each day so I want to make sure it is a relatively smooth ride. I'm not looking for "luxury" level smoothness but at the same time I don't want a car that beats me up daily if you know what I mean. Most of my commute is on interstate.

    • @kedrick71
      @kedrick71 7 лет назад +1

      WVFreebyrd I've had a range rover & this is a notch below that as far as "smoothness" of the ride. Very comfortable ride.

      Faris Albishi Great question. Just leased this car in All-Black..Although it would be cool to have had the Nav installed(Dealership in Manhattan as well as more others specifically charge for installation) Waze on either Apple or Android cell phones is far better than most navigation units in cars.) if that happens to develop into a better system, maybe then it would be cool to install. Excellent Drive so far.
