It will never blow up because it never intended to, anyway. It's an extremely niche title for a specific audience and that will never change, nor should it.

EVA and Punpun are also titles that have been fairly popular for years. LOGH and Texhnolyze have a fanbase that's loyal to the death and one that did its best to spread the word about them, and despite how many posturing psuedo-elitists look towards LOGH and Texhnolyze to flaunt their superior taste in what can only be construed as an act of utter vanity and narcissism, Texhnolyze will never escape its niche or hit it big, nor will LOGH. Then again, that begs the question of why would anyone want them to become big since that goes against their very nature. I can't think of a single good experimental and philosophical anime that's come out in recent years (except for Sonny Boy, which I personally was not a fan of); these days it seems that animation quality and fight scenes are all that is in demand. It's not as if a show like Texhnolyze would be poorly received if it came out today (though that's very possible), but it's more that no one is asking for it. My theory is that anime going super mainstream during Covid-19 has made it so that the demand for mainstream anime is higher. I'm talking out of my ass here, but I really do hope we can get higher quality seinen stuff like Texhnolyze this decade.
