Just wanted to reiterate your point about walking into public places, quiet and not talkative, versus going in with a smile and being social. I am a social fucker. I walk into a place, I smile at everyone, I say hi, I open doors, I talk to people. And you wouldn’t believe how many times I get a discount, I get a free item, I get good advice, I meet a new friend, or I get a compliment. My hair is very long, past my knees, half way down my calves, so people do tend to come up to me and talk to me anyway - but I think part of that is also because I also look open and friendly. I’ve had a high school girl that works at the grocery store near my house, rush up to me one day, saying thank god I came in. Because she had a really bad day, and she knew I would make her feel better. And that really meant something to me. I’m that way with everyone, but to know it had touched her so much over the times, that she was actively looking for me, a customer, to come in and say hi? Knowing that I would cheer her up? That moment is burned in my mind, and I’ll never forget it. I’ve had more, similar situations, but I’ll leave it at that. Sometimes your smile is what someone needed. Someone might be losing everything and just needs a kind word, a smile, a door opened. It makes a difference. I see it in my daily life. Not only does being friendly and warm sometimes get you freebies or discounts, it also causes you to meet people or get opportunities. Just like you just did - your business cards at Sephora is gonna be awesome for you - I just know it. Anywho - that’s my Ted talk for the day 🤣🤣
You seriously seem like such a sweet person Mary!! That’s amazing what an impact you had on that girl at the grocery store. I swear we can solve world peace just by being nicer to people 😂

LOVE your videos! I just did a wedding with five girls this weekend. You inspire me to start vlogging it! Just a suggestion - film the girls at the end of each application when they look at themselves in the mirror. It’s always a sweet moment and then we get to see the full face clearly. 💗 Thank you for all you do as a content creator and business woman!

I feel like I would so chaotic with trying to do makeup on 8 people. I don’t know how you do it and make it look so easy. Thinking about doing makeup for large wedding parties scares me 😱. I know it’s can be a very lucrative business but I think it’s gonna be a long time before I’m ready for it. I’m not fast enough yet because I just started practicing in other people not too long ago.
Haha GIRL it's literally just practice and experience over time! I see it as starting a new job. First day is always going to be a little rough and then eventually you're a pro :) Just don't push yourself and take your time with it. You'll get there in no time!

For brides I usually get reference photos and talk more in depth of about likes and dislikes, but with bridesmaids..how do you go about figuring out what they want? do you ask for reference photos beforehand, do you just ask a couple general questions before doing the application (like what color tones, how natural or glam they want it, ect)? Also, what’s the best way to go about getting bridal photos from say the photographer? Do you just catch their name and reach out to them? I’ve been doing makeup for a while but only recently getting into bridal so your videos help a ton! I appreciate you!
Hi great questions! For bridesmaids, I consult with them the same way I do with brides so I ask if they have any reference photos. If not, I’ll ask the same things you mentioned. Sometimes the bride will dictate what everyone gets especially if she’s paying for everyone. For photos yes, contact their photographer. You need their permission! I have a spot on my contract where they have to list their photographers name.
