Thank you for the video & the explanation of the Western Maryland RR. I also like the steam Locomotives and even though there are only 2 static displays of the C & Os's Allegheny (2-6-6-6) remaining, I am very partial to that Locomotive.

I rode the Western Maryland two times. Rode coach class on June 26, 2010 and rode in the cab of steam locomotive #734 on June 22, 2013.

We have passed the old toll house back in 2013.
Also our Hocking Valley Scenic Railway used to own #34's sister #33.
Nice video and hi
#734 is currently out of service for an overhaul but the railroad now has #1309 they just finished work on that engine this year
I rode in the cab of both 734 (June 2013) and 1309 (August 2022).
If I remember correctly, this is from a video called "Thunder in the Alleghenies." I had it on VHS as a kid!
Yes it is!
I own it DVD (bought it in June 2013 after my cab ride on 734, I remember being very sooty)
734 has used several whistles
Western Maryland Hancock Longbell 3 Chime
Illinois Central Steamboat 3 chime (used on my June 2013 cab ride)
Star Brass Desert (Chinese) 5 Chime
Reading 6 Chime
B&O 3 chime
B&O 6 chime
Nathan 6 chime
Southern Pacific Nathan 6 chime

I wish they would fix the curve at Frostburg so 1309 can be turned around
They now have 1309 but they have retired 734
Running gear was loose as a goose. 734 someday will be restored. Not like the frame is demolished or anything
734 is still planned to someday get rebuilt again
734 is getting rebuilt

Huh, never thought it was yours
#734 (LS&I 34)'s Star Brass Desert 5 chime whistle sounds like #29's (34s other sister) at Grand Canyon Railway.
start the video at 30 seconds no ting can compete with how much pollution that is
