    Get the power and punch of the original awesomely-affordable Dayton Audio B652 speakers, now with the pristine high frequency performance enabled by AMT (Air Motion Transformer) technology! Dayton Audio B652-AIR speakers take a big step up, thanks to the addition of a higher-quality AMT tweeter. The AMT's folded Kapton ribbon diaphragm moves more air but with less effort and distortion, for purer and satisfyingly dimensional sound.
    B652-AIR speakers sound better than ever, yet retain the original B652's same compact size. The B652-AIRs also share the efficiency that delivers big acoustical output without requiring a huge amplifier…and they're still extremely affordable! In fact, the Dayton Audio B652-AIR is the most reasonably priced speaker using AMT technology.
    All of the other original-B652 speaker's features are still present: a tight-sounding 6.5" woofer in an optimally-damped sealed wood composite enclosure, an included keyhole hanger bracket, quick-connect terminals, non-marking rubber feet, and a removable fabric grill that doesn't get in the way of the B652-AIR's improved audio quality. We've even included the speaker cables!
    Compatible with receivers that support 4-8 ohm speakers.

    Bought these new years ago. The tweeters are def awesome, but the woofers are kinda average and not really that great. Replaced them with Dayton Audio's DC160-4 6-1/2" Classic Woofers (4-ohm)...direct fit. NOW they sound sultry, smooth, and balanced. Great match for a 2.1, 5.1, 7.1 system with their 12" powered sub (or two of them). So, for about $65 for the pair of speakers and about the same for new woofers...still a great deal.

    Woot! Spring-loaded terminals! 😄
    Kidding aside though, it is amazing there's a speaker of this size and price that isn't made entirely of particle board and permanently wired to an Emerson brand mini system.

    How come you can't buy that same exact AMT tweeter on Parts Express? The AMT tweeters you sell are different models.

    For under $50 these sound great. They are bookshelf sealed 6.5 inch boxes so don't expect to hear crushing low bass, but they perform well and the tweeters sound spectacular to my ears. They are perfect to pair with a small class D ampifier like the Lepai LP2020TI for HiFi sound on a budget. Add any subwoofer and you have a full range system for a bargain price.

    very nice, but would rather a bass reflex enclosure

      @jalee6587 6 лет назад +2

      Ported bass reflex would be more bassy and boomy but sacrifice the tightness of the bass response.

      Drill a 3/4" hole in the front baffle
      & you've got a bass reflex speaker.
      No Biggie.
      But I agree with the other 2 replies.
      Keep em' factory sealed.
      Surround channel duties are where these
      beauties will sing!
      The AMT tweeter will put out 3D sonics
      that'll make surround sound like,
      birds chirping
      crowd noises
      traffic
      whizzing bullets etc sound absolutely real.
      I'd only employ these speakers in that duty.
      Dayton made these AMT upgrades to be better
      than their predecessor & ended up with a
      surround sound speaker that's 1 of the best!
      ~ Merry Christmas!

      Technologic , so buy a 2 5/8 inch flared port, drill the appropriate hole on the back and glue in the port. don't forget to unscrew the woofer and add some more insulation.
      peel & stick stuff the the sides of the mdf on the inside, not polyfil, it already has enough of that. it will add more deeper bass to the cabinets because they are only 1/2 inch mdf. I did and mine sound a lot better. FYI, take off the wall hanger bracket and put the port at the top, back of the speaker about 2 inches down from the top back. 😁 you'll be glad you did.
      you could add a couple of radiators to the back or one big one and try that too.

      @@timschutte8310 Just picked a set of these up. I'm pretty happy with them so far but my old home theater receiver is lacking in some settings ( its pretty old )
      How long is the port you installed?

      @bryede 5 лет назад +2

      Umm.. making a bass reflex speaker is a lot more complicated than just making a hole in a sealed cabinet.

    which is better the Dayton Audio B652-AIR or the cerwin vega sl-5m because they are the same price

    • @jalee6587
      @jalee6587 6 лет назад +2

      Sebas Zoontjes The best price i found on pair of sl5m is $129 the dayton 652 air i found for $69. However the cerwin vegas will handle up to 125watts while the daytons are rated at 40 watts. The sl5m is also ported for more a exaggerated bass response. The dayton b652 may be better for softer more delicate audiophile listening with the better amt tweeter and sealed enclosure. While the cerwin vega sl5m will be better for playing louder with a higher power handling and more boomy sounding bass. Depends on your application.

      Sebas Zoontjes i am also a cerwin vega fan i have pairs of vs12 vs10 ls5 ve5m ve5c at8 which are great but i am considering the b652air for when i listen to softer music im curious about the amt tweeter experience.

      Sebas Zoontjes , comes down to personal taste.
      they both sound a little bit different. they are both excellent speakers for the money. the Dayton's are a touch brighter than the Cerwin Vegas I think.
