I thought I was the only one that didn't like much of the jewelry design from Cartier in this video. Cartier isn't my top favorite. Andrew pidor did a good job with the video. But I just don't like the design of the jewels that much. The diamonds and gemstones are beautiful, though.
When I was young back in Mogoke in Burma, I used to play with Burmese gemstones. I miss those days.

The stones, themselves, are beautiful, but I don’t like these designs. They’re incongruous, except for the Yoshino set, which was beautiful. The reason is they have adapted some tribal styles that are typically made of other kinds of stones and natural materials, which do not translate well into settings with diamonds and other gemstones.

The aquamarine diamonds and emeralds panther necklace is knocking my socks off....similar to all other panther necklace collection yet beautifully different because of the blue color..and position of the panther...we don't see many high end blue jewelry .....

I'm a bit disappointed. One of the most beautiful piece of Cartier was María Felix's Crocodiles. It was magnificent detailed and could be worn as a chocker or as individual brooches. Precious!!!

Just like a ruby that I’m keeping only that it’s my grandfather’s ruby cabochon which he used to wear when he was a Bishop of Aglipay church Philippines 🇵🇭. I remember him telling us that the stone came from Burma.

The equinoxes necklace seems disharmonious to me: gold and ice are bidimensional meanwhile the Lapislazuli pearls are 3D in a way that is too much prominent in shape and color: its designer doesn't have the right sensibility to create according to "musical" forms as they did chez Cartier in Deco' times...

Lovely. As in much of art, I do not approve of doing things strangely simply for the sake of innovation. If I am draping a million dollars around my wife's neck, I want it to be beautiful, not JUST innovative. The strange mixtures of color, and texture may be interesting, but if I have to resell a piece of jewelry in an economic downturn, I want people to say isn't that beautiful, not just isn't that unusual or dramatic. Queen Elizabeth owns a wonderful necklace...An Indian design I think... that has a motif that plunges deep between the Boobs that seems a bit disjointed from the rest of the necklace. If someone handed it to me as a gift, I might think twice if I was unable to alter it(historical significance etc.). I would want to hack off that pendant design as it makes for a rather ugly element of the necklace. Perhaps make a belt buckle out of it. It is different and unusual, but I would not want it to drape round my wife's neck. I suppose if I had 50 billion pounds to throw away, I could just throw a necklace in a drawer when the fashion fades for the style, but still it is a waste. Even very innovative Art Deco jewelry is not so outlandish that is seems out of place today on someone's neck, and I believe that many modern pieces will be out of place in the future.
