  • In our previous episodes, we have been covering the use of the Wing Chun 3rd Form - Bill Gee - to anticipate your opponent's move without triggering his reaction.
In this episode, we will combine those concepts with blade training and how to apply them using Wing Chun.

    What about with lightsabers?
🤣 kidding. Thanks for the tips Sifu! You're one of the few who breaks down the mechanics step by step, inch by inch.

I might be missing something; how to train this 'solo? Why do many movements feel
    similar to swimming?

Really difficult to train this kind of thing solo... I did know a guy who rigged up an axe handle with heavy-duty rubber on a concrete pillar, but that's not the safest thing to do. The movements look and feel like swimming, because he wants to keep moving to occupy the space between him and the opponent and collect information. If your arms don't make contact, then you're relying on sight alone. It's also easier for your body to make quick adjustments if it's already moving. Not ALWAYS the most advisable strategy, but it has its place.

@@owenli7180 " keep moving to occupy the space between him and the opponent and collect information" is something i can relate to and agree with. I basically only use sight to find out the opponents (emotional)intentions/ this can be repeated during an altercation . Once established, i feel and dance to make it stop; so as a fight ends ASAP. I once got grabbed by a dude and he wouldn't let go, i noticed he had no intention of letting me go as if he had power over me; i realised almost instantly he wasn't gonna strike. So i asked him multiple times to let me be and even scanned my surroundings to find accomplices and/or witnesses. All the while i was giving myself the time to evaluate the situation. Eventually i started to swim my way out of his grasp; even tho i started off by grabbing him by the throat, i felt my way though. Distracted him with it and other strikes that caused no harm and eventually dragged him off balance. A fight won without casualties; only bruised egos..
