- In this video, you'll see how to make DIY rain detector (rain alarm).
What you need to make it:
1. NPN Transistor BC547
2. An active 12V buzzer
3. LED (optional)
4. A piece of single sided PCB Board.
5. Wires
If you have questions then ask in the comments below. Наука
I'm loving your channel!👍👍😆
This is easier than the one we did WTH!!! Thanks.
sir, any alternative for single sided PCB that we can built at home or can we use any old pcb from damaged board? How
thank you brother....I'm success from your video...thanks a lot
Thanks for sharing
that is genius I never thought about that
Hi Sir, can this hep to detect the air water vapor ( like the humidity in a closed room.....) if not, can you please make a tutorial for this one?
So nice
Gooooood channel
Thankuuu so much
What is the mm of the wires you have used ?
Can we use any transistor
CAN I USE ANY RESISTOR? answer me asap please.
Good
how much Maxload Amps of NPN547 ?
Hallo. How to make detector metal. Thanks.
I use a glass of water outside my window, it also functions as an RSI (rain stopped indicator)
plz my reqest for you. you make a 12 volt automatic charge full circuit
plz reply me
What is the music name ??
Waooo
What is that brown board? Is it expensive ? Where can i get one?
Hi, that is the thing that PCB are make from. Well, it is not expensive usually. Google for something like "Single Sided Blank PCB"
can u plz tell me the model of buzzer u used and its rating????
Hi, there is not much written on it. It is advertised as 12V buzzer, but it can work even with 4V. It consumes less than 20mA of current.
sir with rain sènsor, if we need to car windscreen whipper automatically instead of ĹED buĺb for this çañ we attàch whipper motor
shehzad sardar use a 12 v relay instead of alarm , then connect to wiper motor ...
Hi, yes, it is possible, you need to connect a small 12V relay instead of the buzzer and the LED, and the relay will be able to control any device, including whipper motor.
can I use battery as a power source? If I use could you tell me about the volt of the battery and how to connect them pleasem
Hi, a 12V battery will work fine. You need to connect the red wire to the plus terminal of the battery, and the black wire to the minus terminal of the battery.
Can u plz tell the working steps
good day sir, is it possible to replace the BC547 with a MOSFET type?
Hi, yes it is possible, but you will need an additional resistor. I've chosen BC547 instead of a MOSFET just because the circuit will have fewer components. If you want to use a MOSFET then build a circuit from this video ruclips.net/video/ZXvtTmxAhu8/видео.html
The device in that video very similar to the one in this video, but it uses different water sensor. Just build that circuit and then use the PCB sensor from this video, and it will work.
oh i see, thank you. also for the quick reply

hello again, i was wondering what is the use of the 1M resistor in the circuit? is it to protect the mosfet from any damage?
Hi, no, actually It called pull-down resistor. It pulls Gate to Ground, without it the buzzer will be always on or off, or may start making noise at random. For more information just Google what is: "pull-up resistor" or "pull-down resistor"
Without some water on the sensor and without 1M resistor, the gate lead electrically will not be connected to anything, (except just a wire) and it is not good. The gate lead is very sensitive and will pick up interference and that will trigger buzzer at random.
Pcb oxide. I tray using NiTi.
How to make rain detector using SCR
hii i have done same thing but befor putting the water LED is glow and buzzer is ringing
Hi, there are can be two reasons for that. Reason number one: there is a short circuit in your PCB sensor, so you need to cut the copper layer more... you need to separate the copper layer on that PCB into two parts, so the current doesn't flow from one part to another. Reson number two: broken or not working transistor.
Please do a simple test to find out what is wrong: disconnect one wire from that PCB sensor, and if it stops ringing it means that the transistor is fine, and you just need to cut the copper layer on the PCB more. Tell me your result.
working of the project plssss
Wow... Is it possible if i use 9V battery? And what if i want to connect a motor at the circuit? Is it possible to just use this simple circuit? Im doing a project.I hope you can help me🙏
Yes, but better disconnect the LED, just connect the wire directly to the buzzer. Well, the motor probably consumes more current than the transistor can handle, so you need to use different transistor... maybe a "Darlington transistor". Also, look at this project: ruclips.net/video/ZXvtTmxAhu8/видео.html it is very similar and can definitely handle a motor.
Tq so much sir:)i already buy the single sided pcb board to make the rain sensor.however i feel that the structure is too hard to cut. So, is there any tips on way how to cut the board like you did in the video? And you cut the board using cutter rite?
Pardon me sir.. I have one more question. What is the liquid paste you use before u solder? is it compulsary?
Well, it is possible to remove the copper layer chemically, by using Iron(III) chloride, also called ferric chloride, or with Nitric acid (you need to know how to do it)... But for me, it was much simpler to use a cheap "Retractable razor knife". You can try to use a scalpel or something similar. That liquid paste actually is liquid flux for soldering, you can use rosin instead. Liquid flux or similar things remove the oxide layer, and help to solder, for me it is necessary, without it soldering is difficult and often just impossible.
Sir.i have tried to connect all the components (battery 12v,dc motor, darlington transistor, sensor)but it seem when i spray water on the sensor..the motor does not move...why?
Hey i have done the same thing but before putting the water only the buzzet is ringing
Hi, let's do a test to find out what is wrong...
For the test please disconnect one wire from the water sensor.
Does it stop ringing after you disconnect one wire from the sensor?
Same with me
No ringing iis stop
plz tell me again that why have you scratched the single sided PCB board
Hi, If you don't scratch the PCB the buzzer will make noise even if no moisture on PCB, it happens because copper layer conducts electricity.
It is not just scratching, I've separated the copper layer on that PCB into two parts, so current doesn't flow from one part to another. But when a raindrop falls on that scratch current start to flow through the raindrop from one part of the PCB to another.
thank you helped me a lot
but plz can you tell me something more about this rain alarm
Well, what can I tell... it is just a simple DIY project, so not much I can tell about it. It is simple, that's it.
can you reply me the full working please?
will it work in a long length of sensor wire? for example 15m?
I think it should work, although if there are power lines nearby it could pick up some interference. If you get interference to try to add a 100nF-2uF capacitor in parallel to 15m wires.
Please please
Tell me where to connect resistor
Because my transistor and led burn out
Where to connect resistor 🙏🙏🙏
Reply
Please reply fast 🙏🙏🙏
You need to connect it sequentially with the LED. It should not burn out if you use correct buzzer.
You can connect a resistor instead of a buzzer, 470R - 1k resistor should work fine.
sir i need a matter of this circuit
I don't think the transistor is necessary, just add a resistor to the LED and you're good to go
Can I use aluminium foil instead of copper PCB and cut as you show in video and connet wires . (Where are you from, i am from Mumbai India.)👍
The point here is to cut it so it does not conduct electricity. You can try to glue two lines of foil to some insulation material (plastic for example), but these two lines of foil should not touch each other. And when a raindrop falls on two of these lines, then a small current will start to flow from one foil line trough the raindrop to another foil line.
Btw, hi from Ukraine.
@@ElectricalPro thanks for reply my friend
You come in tinkerfest
will this work if i connect this to a battery ?
Hi, yes, it will perfectly work with a 9V or 12V battery.
thanks dude !
Why we draw rectangular line on copper plate
Please reply it's urgent
It's not working
Your name is joe
Why is this so
