I was looking forward to this video the moment I heard the announcement. I agree there's some good and there's some bad news here. And 3 formats sounds like a lot but I guess we'll see if Bushiroad can manage them.
I personally believe that by the time time the next reboot hits there will still be 3 formats. So that it's Standard (Current Format), OverDress Standard (Overdress/Last Gen cards only), and Premium. With anything older than the last format being merged into Premium, so like V will become one withh Premium finally.
Also as far as the formats go if they reboot again I could just see em drop V premium and then make D premium while dropping V stuff into Premium Standard. Maybe keeping up 3 formats. Though I also agree on the fact that keeping up 3 formats would probably be kinda a pain.
I agree with V Premium purely because whenever they rebooted the series the first time it was to get rid of all of the complicated mechanics like G Strides and stuff. So if you take the cards that were made specifically because they didn't want G Strides and other things that complicated the game, if you take them, and then add the G Strides anyways, it sorta just ruins and nullifies the purpose the cards were even made for.
Pretty sure we have a 3rd format for G which no one plays, so V is probably not going to be played as well. Just bushi formalizing it like how there's technically a format where you can mix clans.
I don't think supporting V as its own format is a bad thing. People who play Standard right now can't just take their current deck into Premium and actually enjoy the game. They'd need a lot of old junk which is no longer in production, and will never be in production again. This isn't MTG. Bushiroad doesn't reprint cards from Limit Break or G eras. So making people pay $400 for a playset of a card from 2012 to make their V decks even remotely viable in Premium is out of the question for most people. Now if they decided to do two or three reprint sets a year with top played Premium cards in them, then that'd be another story.
@@SolemnVanguard I'm obviously exaggerating, but Premium is not cheap at all. Especially Strides. I don't actively play Premium anymore, but things are only going to get more expensive. If Bushiroad reprinted stuff, having only two formats wouldn't be a problem, but in another 4 years, G era cards are going to be harder to come by, and if stuff like Luard stays in the meta for another format, those old cards are going to get more and more expensive. It's not an immediate problem, but for the life of a game, it gets bad. Do you not know the whole fetch land issue in MTG? Or dozens of other examples of non-accessible cards that are next to mandatory to be competitive? Mana Crypt, Sylvan Library, basically every card from Kaladesh Inventions. You're saying Vanguard should have a truly eternal format like MTG, but they can't do that without reprinting cards, which I sincerely doubt Bushiroad will ever do.
In defense of V format, I think it's there so the players who came in V don't have to buy strides and stuff for Premium if they still want to play their cards. That said, Yea I don't think the format should exist. Just one premium format with support for strides it gift stuff in premium collection is sufficient. And then if something's unhealthy or busted in premium, drop a restriction.
When I asked for Duel Terminal type sets, I didn't mean change the entire game into them. I'm excited for new "Starvaders," but I didn't expect them to completely change the game like this
If the card prices will drop with this, I may have to look at doing some Overdress playing, depending on how this all shakes out. No more Overlord the clan, but Dragon Empire would be fun to play
I actually loved the so-called "baseless" Retrains. They FINALLY came out with Shadow Paladin Witch support! Here is me hoping that they come out with a similar aesthetic to Witches (NOT just Wizards!)
I find it funny that yugioh's reboot anime looks very childish and meant for a younger audience while vanguards looks more mature and aimed at an older audience
@@ayato1392 I don't like it the first season I found really boring like the writers were struggling with what to do, the 2nd season was only enjoyable with shions storyline. season 3 was stupid because the villians plan was the exact same plan Madara had in Naruto and season 4 and 5 were improved a little but at that point their was so many characters that it felt way too bloated
what i HOPE they will do is instead of rebooting lots of formats how about they rotate v-standard and d-standard on what is getting the most support. ex. after this overdress story ends we go back to v-era for a much calmer and easier standard while d-standard gets support in the extra boosters. one for new players and one for thr older ones.
Agreed on making 2 format, premium and standard... in premium people can mix & match V-series, G-series n D-series or originally play V-series deck with new cards from D-series. Basically now deck from V-series somehow can beat G series deck so why not in one format. Since people complaining broken combo. Bushiroad can just add more ban list n limit card instead of making many format which might cause many people to quit
Ride deck is the best thing they have ever done to the game. Makes so many hillarious things possible. If you want to be super spicy you can run 1 grade 2 and kick ass.
I think they can hold a three format as far as support. Have it be standard (current sets), modern (the current plus previous standard ex. Overdress with v currently), and then premium. It makes it so that they can also have one set be modern support and the other premium support. However overall I don't like the 3 format idea either.
9:15 i'll have a word for that, Vanguard so far are actually meant for kids at the start because it was included as a kids anime or Anime that is actually made for kids to watch, but it's also fr all age so obviously adults would be the one on top of the game, the Anime is for kids, and to be honest Kids anime are the kind of anime that i like best, it's really safe for kids to watch most of the time
Not gonna lie. I figured that if the game rotated I would only play premium, but this seems extremely promising. It finally feels like this game could be competitive (although that fucking overtrigger). V premium is a mistake though, there's no reason to play it over premium. Also: PLEASE GIVE US BEST OF 3 TOURNAMENTS.
3 formats is the worst part of this. Other than that I love these new changes... I think for the future of the game the changes they made are gonna be good for its longevity. I think that having v support could work as a way to specifically support premium decks could work but I hope they don't forget to create more premium collections
I think I'll actually agree with the three format, cause many people have started vanguard with the V series so most likely they only have that series, I'm including one of those
8:23 in my opp i think these change will make van more fun but its bec i print proxy and play with frindes for fun so we just dont have any thing to lose but this trig is awsom
At this point, I think people just need to accept that Standard will be a rotating format, and Premium is the eternal format. It'll be this way until the end of Vanguard
Good thing is that by mixing the clan into a nation can make sure everyone get their support but, if Granblue and Aqua Force joins Zoo in a nation, what happens to both Zoa and Megiddo for Premium? Maybe it's not really concerning now but what if every game can take always played for a long time someday.

Not gonna lie, I haven't been keeping up with Vanguard since V started, outside of buying the first 2 TD's and a box of VBT-01, but Overdress has my attention.
i get what they were going for with 3 formats, standard is nation based, v premium is clan based, and premium is mixed, but i am expecting v-premium to get the short end of the stick
I feel the trigger effects were overexaggerating. They could have made it 25,000 or 30,000 which is reasonable but instead they had to increase the power to huge amounts. I hope we get more defensive cards to counter this trigger. Thank you for the information and opinion Solemn Vanguard. :)
Overdress sounded exciting until I heard about the "fuck you" trigger. I'll probably still try it though, I like fresh card games. Maybe we can house rules it away during casual games.
Real question that might be answered later. So if you look at the cards Overdress stuff doesn't seem to be compatible with anything else because the nations changed and the new cards don't list clans anymore? Did they address this and I missed it?
More than a reboot is a new format. Standard as we know it still exists but with a new name. It will still have 2 sets each year which hopefully will help on lowering the creep curve. Premium as we know it now i guess it'll end Up dissapearing in a year or so unless It develops a stable player base
Honestly my main concern is the clan/nation split. The whole thing about clans and what made this game *unique* was was that clans had a certain way of going about the game, a literary fighting style. Now with this nation split, will there just be one universal style that the nations as a whole will accel at? If thats the case then Vanguard would loose some of its originality by just making specific nations good at one thing, and groups of cards retain some of their original play styles why even split?
I'm more little bit mad they drop overdress like on a player base right before english got Bermuda and a few months later band dream set. Its like if you put money into those sets oh well. Yes Bermuda can just at to premium card pool. But I havent seen a local event counting Friday set in 3 sets. Doesn't 100% give me hope
I definitely would’ve preferred still just a premium and standard. It’s odd that they are doing this but at this point I got no clue I find it interesting tho and that seems to be enough.
Do you think premium decks will be based around clans, and you can add cards from OverDress that belong to that clan's nation, or, do you think premium will be based around nations, and you can add cards from all clans that belong to that nation?
Honest question as someone who doesn't play standard, how far back would we need to go to make the stuff in Clan Selection the meta? Like I know thus far they don't compete with Gurguit/Gavrail and I'm pretty sure Luard, but would they be fine in Silverdust meta, back a year to Vanq/Revonn or even further?

Bushi on the road to 69 formats?
Nice
I was looking forward to this video the moment I heard the announcement. I agree there's some good and there's some bad news here. And 3 formats sounds like a lot but I guess we'll see if Bushiroad can manage them.
I think by the end of the year they'll stop supporting V premium,. Like they did for G format.
I actually needed a video on this tbh
3 years already, it has been a while since i played it in a store since the whole pandemic
Did not know Vanguard was getting THIS BIG.
I mean by, getting a High end Studio for animations.
Code Geass and Shield Hero Studio will make it hype
man i dont want vanguard to die, and the anime got me hyped
It will never die as long as they keep doing reboot to trick the players
@@suisui5930 😔
I personally believe that by the time time the next reboot hits there will still be 3 formats. So that it's Standard (Current Format), OverDress Standard (Overdress/Last Gen cards only), and Premium. With anything older than the last format being merged into Premium, so like V will become one withh Premium finally.
2:41 hold up does that grade 1 have 5k shield? Are they also reverting shield value?
Also as far as the formats go if they reboot again I could just see em drop V premium and then make D premium while dropping V stuff into Premium Standard. Maybe keeping up 3 formats. Though I also agree on the fact that keeping up 3 formats would probably be kinda a pain.
Note that there's no TBD support in premium premium. Meaning that strides might not be supported anymore.
Awesome news overall. Can't wait for the new products!
Holy shit a new anime made by a good studio???? Let's gooooo
What cards, per clan, are 400$ for a playset in premium?
I really prefer the G era anime cuz its suitable and enjoyable in all ages in my opinion. It does not feel too childish to watch .
Now that its not per clan.... We can also have rotation now on overdress standard since its easier now to support each nation.....
I'm hype and I'm apparently not going to quit Vanguard after all. This is hype.
Why were you gonna quit to begin with?
Ok combining the clans into nation is interesting...but why did they exclude v series from Overdress
To make you buy the new cards.
Bushiroad is clouded by the Darkside and now to go to the whiskey
Agreed on making 2 format, premium and standard... in premium people can mix & match V-series, G-series n D-series or originally play V-series deck with new cards from D-series. Basically now deck from V-series somehow can beat G series deck so why not in one format. Since people complaining broken combo. Bushiroad can just add more ban list n limit card instead of making many format which might cause many people to quit
Ride deck is the best thing they have ever done to the game. Makes so many hillarious things possible.
If you want to be super spicy you can run 1 grade 2 and kick ass.
Really a shame they didn't remove triggers. They're not an icon people love vg for. Luck based is crap.
I think they can hold a three format as far as support. Have it be standard (current sets), modern (the current plus previous standard ex. Overdress with v currently), and then premium. It makes it so that they can also have one set be modern support and the other premium support.
However overall I don't like the 3 format idea either.
8:45 that's trading card games heart of the cards win. Lol
my guess V premium is going to be a temporary format like we have had in the past until people either settle into premium or standard
Same as the current new standard format, because in a year or two they gonna reboot the game again and make a new standard format
Technically this is a continuation of the G era
Why did you say that ? :)
@@kevinc.1319 cuz its after 3000 years in clay after the gyze accident .
Standard Nation format and premium clan format.
That is what we should have.
Bushiroad: he's to smart to be kept alive
I was just planning on getting back in the game too
3 formats is the worst part of this. Other than that I love these new changes... I think for the future of the game the changes they made are gonna be good for its longevity. I think that having v support could work as a way to specifically support premium decks could work but I hope they don't forget to create more premium collections
I think I'll actually agree with the three format, cause many people have started vanguard with the V series so most likely they only have that series, I'm including one of those
but I respect your judgement, it would be a pain to have 3 tournaments to go and to understand the game, specially for me who also just got into it
Oracle Solemn knows all
8:23 in my opp i think these change will make van more fun but its bec i print proxy and play with frindes for fun so we just dont have any thing to lose but this trig is awsom
At this point, I think people just need to accept that Standard will be a rotating format, and Premium is the eternal format. It'll be this way until the end of Vanguard
If only the Shield on the overtrigger was also 100M...
It's gonna hurt sooo much to draw that after mulligan
Good thing is that by mixing the clan into a nation can make sure everyone get their support but, if Granblue and Aqua Force joins Zoo in a nation, what happens to both Zoa and Megiddo for Premium? Maybe it's not really concerning now but what if every game can take always played for a long time someday.
i love love love this change!
I am really impress of what they have done even though I still don't like the v premium since it somehow shows favoritism to the old standard(which is V).
I'm interested to play vanguard before this but i dont now wheter its good to start playin at that time or not. Later i've found your videos about the reboot prediction. I've been following your videos about the reboot prediction since then cause i dont want to waste my money spending on V series cards if its get reboot & damn you were right!! Ha3.. Just came here to say thank you man for saving my wallet.. Now i can start playing vanguard without worries with the new D format.
I know you always say "chow" at the end of the video, but this time, you're LITERALLY chowing at the end of the video. LOL. love you.
I think he’s just saying ciao instead of chow
ikr this anime looks good, actually gonna watch it
Not gonna lie, I haven't been keeping up with Vanguard since V started, outside of buying the first 2 TD's and a box of VBT-01, but Overdress has my attention.
i get what they were going for with 3 formats, standard is nation based, v premium is clan based, and premium is mixed, but i am expecting v-premium to get the short end of the stick
I say just remove it, makes things simpler
I feel the trigger effects were overexaggerating. They could have made it 25,000 or 30,000 which is reasonable but instead they had to increase the power to huge amounts. I hope we get more defensive cards to counter this trigger. Thank you for the information and opinion Solemn Vanguard. :)
POV : Me fixing my premium kagero deck.
Saw this video: oh cool
Finishes it: 😨😨😱😱😱😱 screaming internally
Overdress sounded exciting until I heard about the "fuck you" trigger. I'll probably still try it though, I like fresh card games. Maybe we can house rules it away during casual games.
Yeaah that OverTrigger is... 😅 wtf. Hope there would be Skills or smthn that could maybe nullify or remove them? idk lol
Agreed. Dmg null and 1mill pow. Better not be until end of turn.
Its 1 per deck u have to be really lucky
Hey don't forget it is only one off. So the probability is, well, very slim.
The Frick 100 million power
Real question that might be answered later. So if you look at the cards Overdress stuff doesn't seem to be compatible with anything else because the nations changed and the new cards don't list clans anymore? Did they address this and I missed it?
OD cards will work in premium. You'd be able to play the nation cards in their respective clans.
More than a reboot is a new format. Standard as we know it still exists but with a new name. It will still have 2 sets each year which hopefully will help on lowering the creep curve. Premium as we know it now i guess it'll end Up dissapearing in a year or so unless It develops a stable player base
No. The opposite imo.
legit never been this excited for a reboot
Doesn't 100% give me hope
so the real question should we sell our v cards to ebay
Not yet
play premium man
Granblue and Aqua got shafted so hard. They could've gotten great support but instead they're stuck with zoo
I believe premium is still clan fight and you can just add the new nation cards into the decks.
Is nation fight rule will only apply in the new Standard?
Yes
Imagine them introducing power locking on steriods in overdress
Honest question as someone who doesn't play standard, how far back would we need to go to make the stuff in Clan Selection the meta? Like I know thus far they don't compete with Gurguit/Gavrail and I'm pretty sure Luard, but would they be fine in Silverdust meta, back a year to Vanq/Revonn or even further?
