Clean Glossy Logo Animation Tutorial in After Effects | No plugins | Modern Logo Animation

- In this tutorial I show you how to make a clean glossy logo animation in Adobe After Effects without using any plugins and extra files, everything is done in After Effects alone. I show you how to create a clean 3d looking stroke outline with its shadow using Vegas effect. I also show you how to create your own reflection map using Fractal Noise effect and then use the reflection map to create a glossy look using cc glass and cc blobbylize effects. In the end you get a clean glossy logo reveal with multiple animation layers. After watching this video you will be able to create a modern clean glossy animation for any logo in After Effects.

If the picture disappears when you use the vegas effect, you can auto-trace the picture and use the effect. Thanks to the author for a good tutorial))))

If your logo disappear and you're using AE 2024, in Image Contour/Channel, set it from Intesity(or whatever is on) to Alpha.

When i place CC Blobbylize logo dissapeared can anyone help me? I tought it would be alpha matte. In my track mate option theres no alpha matte option. HELP ME
Just select whatever layer you need from the track matte drop down and it will be set to alpha matte. It no longer says alpha matte. * To invert matte check the second box to the right

Your tutorials are fantastic, but for the life of me, I can never get blobbylize to work. Watched endless tutorials now, and tried lots of different logos, but it never turns out right. I mess with the settings and it just gets worse. I think I give up :-)

Honestly it really depends on a type of logo, for some it could look awesome, for others it won't have the same effect 😁 respect for trying though, sooner or later you will nail it 😁
@@SmertimbaGraphics I managed to find a tutorial that was using some different settings. So watching that and yours together, I think I finally sussed it and produced an awesome glass logo last night. So I think I may have finally grasped how some of the settings work, It took me a while tho :-)

So I think you have to change the colors in the vegas effect controls, it's set to pink if you follow my tutorial, just set it to something similar to your logos colors, like light grey would do it for a silver look. Let me know if you get it

Try playing around with vegas threshold until it picks up the area you need

When I did the tutorial it only selected a few parts of my logo and not the whole thing, i'm not quite sure why it keeps doing that, have you ever had that issue and if so how do you fix it?
It depends on the logo, for most alpha setting works when auto tracing, for some you gotta use luminance or other channels
@@SmertimbaGraphics Yes, the alpha matte option wouldn't show up as well, I will try playing with the other channels, thanks for replying
It's been redesigned, now once you select the layer from the track matte drop down it's automatically set to alpha matte, to invert check the second box to the right
Very cool, but I can't get the Vegas to work. As soon as I set the blend mode to Transparent, my PNG logo disapear and everything is just white. What am I doing wrong???
When you apply vegas, go into image contours and play around with threshold until it picks up the logo
@@SmertimbaGraphics Ok, that didn't help, so I tried your file and changed the logo in the logo composition. That helped, so I must have done something wrong in my attempet 🙂 But it didn't give the same beauty of a result, so there is proberly some settings that must be changed to make it work. Thats AE for you! Your exsample and idea is great though!

my menus dont seem to look the same, not sure if its an adobe update and its different now, but the transform drop down looks nothing like yours.... :(
They did change a lot of stuff but the transform menu should be as it was I believe

Hello ! Thanks for this. I have a question, when I apply the vegas effect on my blue logo, it doesnt work. I cant get why. I tried to tint it in the blue but still doesnt work. Nevertheless, it work on my white logo. Do you know why ?
Try adjusting the threshold of vegas in image contours, use a different channel, like alpha for example
