  • St Thomas and Port Tennant have a new food bank, opening once a week on a Tuesday at St Stephen's Church.
The Trussell Trust Foodbank project was founded by local churches and community groups, working together towards stopping hunger in our local area. They provide three days of emergency food to local individuals and families in crisis. Food is donated by the general public and from churches, local schools and supermarket collections.
By donating to the Foodbank you can help support local people in crisis.
Please visit swansea.foodbank.org.uk for further information.

When I was a child, our school collected food to donate to other countries. Now we donate to our neighbours. Gotta love late stage capitalism.

All of this food is given by the public and shops, why should the government decide who gets it.

The government? Nothing to do with the government. This is run by good folk giving of time. And yes, they need to be sure there is real need as sadly there are folk who would take advantage. Is that not appalling... People and shops give because they know it will go to the really needy. The supply is limited. A wonderful resource, As a pensioner I know they are there at need, a reassurance,
