Hi Milly! I've been in the promo industry for nearly 5 years. The DTF Transfers you need to press at 155C for 40Sec. Let it completely cool down, if its still hot leave it. The colder the better then you can pull the sheet off. Then press with the teflon sheet for 40sec again. The sublimation mugs I always use 185C for 240sec. When your timer reaches 120sec take the mug out and turn it around and press again for 120sec. These tricks should work and ensure you get perfect prints every time.
Mili with sublimation, the paper must be removed warm, preferably fresh from the press, because sublimation ink becomes gas under the influence of heat and when you leave the paper on the mug to cool, the ink will return to the paper. Therefore, after removing the paper, it is a good idea to put the hot mug in cold water to stop the escaping color. As for dtf, unfortunately some materials require longer and multiple heating, and the biggest problem is with slippery materials.
@@CreativeStitchingwithAnnthe material does not need to be cooled, but the paper should be removed as soon as possible, as it can cause shadows, the so-called ghost effect, because the gas has to escape somewhere.
Hi Milly, Firstly, I absolutely love the sweatshirt. Whenever I sub mugs I do 180* for 360 minutes and peel straightaway. | wouldn't throw them away, invest in some infuseable ink pens and colour them in. I hate waste its far too expensive lol xx I also had a problem with tote bags and it turned out to be a coating on the bag, I washed them and they printed fine. I love watching your videos, don't let it get you down xx
I was so sad to see you had such a bad day, I have had plenty of those and it’s so frustrating when days like that happen. I LOVE your sweatshirts!! I wish I lived closer to the market to have been able to buy one for me and my mum!! The design and the colour of that sweatshirt was so cute!!
For the dtf print issue I would have cut off the words and then manually placed them to make them closer to save the stars. lol I am the queen of readjusting a print by cutting the words and manually placing them after to use the space needed. Love all of the designs so much❤❤❤
@@printsbymilly I am the same way in the moment I do something a d then later I'm like ohhhhh I could have done this🤣🤣🤣 those of us who know know🤣 hope you have an amazing day💖
You mentioned "padding out" on the pencil cases. Have you tried that method on the totes? Is the fabric the same as the shirts? I absolutely love your stuff!
Thanks for mentioning Rebecca! I had seen some of her tutorials and I couldn't remember her name. I wanted to do a refresher for her card-making. I do sewing and kits and many of the things that I'm developing could you a card to go with. I've done a couple of gifts now to test the waters and so far everything has been enthusiastically received. So I'm going forward. I've shot video but I'm sketchy on editing. Shoestring budget and all...
Please know that many of us would be made up to produce such amazing sweatshirts! They are so cute 🥰 Like you, I teach music peripatetically and want to start my stationery/art business. You and Katnip are my absolute inspiration!! X
oh Millie i am so sorry you had a bad day! there could be so many reasons why i t didn't work. could be the coating isnt consistent on the mugs or there is inconsistent heat from the press. i would highly recommend getting an infrared thermometer gun ( you can find them on amz) and check the temp on several spots to make sure the heat is even. i hope this is helpful! you might want to press them 2x by turning them the opposite way so the two sides are equally pressed.🧡
omgg girl i was panicking watching you do the tote bag, i was like “STOP PEELING! STOP PEELING!”😭😭😭that literally happened to me today working on a custom order, then i fixed it and i accidentally lifted the design again and messed it up🥲i called it a night after😭
Have you seen the latest Rebel Jones video? I was thinking if you’d processed everything the same as usual then the only variable would be the DTF transfers. It appears that you’re not the only person having problems with them - that doesn’t help much when you have so much spoiled stock but at least it should reassure you that it’s not your fault.
I've had days like this as well. You feel like nothing goes right. I'm sure you will do well at your market and those shirts turned out fab! You got this!
LOVE the sweatshirts, they are so cute. A mug with that print on would be brilliant...I'd definitely buy one. Regarding the tote bags, could it be the dtf that is faulty? Just a thought. 😊😊😊 Hope the weekend went well. See you in the next video. ❤

I am Cambridgeshire based and make hair accessories and fabric items, I love cute stationery so does my daughter ❤
Could it be a pressure issue with your dtf? The auto press doesn’t always have the best pressure and the tote bags are thin. If you get a second pressing mat it may help. X
@@lucyhardman8386 thank you, who knows! I've tried lots of tote bags in the past all the same material and thickness as those ones so I really don't know! Ahh they're incredible aren't they! This was my 5th time seeing them - just managed to get tickets to the McFly vs Busted tour 2025 this morning too!! 🤩 thank you so much for watching ☺💕
So....not trying to be funny but this is why a lot of printing output has a "test run". If you just do one or two mugs in future you will find a problem before you lose the whole batch. Maybe warm a mug up first next time and see if that helps? Also is the tote bag material different from the usual? It looked sort of soft and shiny. My only experience is with the iron on transfers of my youth (I'm old) and if they didn't take you just left the iron on a bit longer until they did 😊
@@mrsonleemee I usually do a test run always, but I had SO much to try and get done this day that I just went ahead and did them all in one go as my mugs usually turn out ok (not always, but most of the time) 🤣 the tote bag material is labelled as exactly the same as usual so I’m really not sure… I did try pressing them again for longer but still no luck. This day was just against me clearly hahah! Thanks so much for watching 😊💞
At least you tried Milly, but please don't give up keep on trying and keep going. Maybe purchase a little bit more stock for allowing just in case you make mistakes but I would continue with the tote bags. I'm looking forward to seeing what happens when I do it and I will let you know. Secondly, it maybe what happened to Coconuttacha and she turned up the inks a little bit and it really made a difference so try that too but don't give up. Keep going you got this 😊👍
Your sweaters came out great I agree and that green looks good on you. Dellies Designs might be able to help you with the sublimation issues, if I recall correctly she was having the same issues and finally solved it.
Thank you so much! 😊 I’ve been sublimating mugs for a few months now and I hadn’t changed the settings for these mugs, so I’m starting to think it might have been a dodgy batch of mug blanks! But thank you so much, I love Dellie’s vlogs!! Thank you for watching 😊💞
Yes, everything was the same as normal! 🤔 Still very confused why they all came out so faded! I’ve not braved making any more since, but I’ll have a play around tomorrow and see if they come out any better… thanks so much for watching! 😊💞

So is it the opposite procedure for fabric? I've seen other makers peel off the paper hot too from cups/mugs/glass.
