To me, Crystalized was just a "get Nya back" series. but then they were like "Wait, we don't have a villain. eh, let's just revive the overlord for the 4th time" also, upsetting the balance has always been his goal and his original form is a dragon. not that buff dragon, just the regular one Lloyd beat up in season 2. also, the episode were the ninja are figuring that they need to "jump up, kick back, whip around and spin" I was just like, "do you think I'm a child?" most of the people that are actually watching ninjago are teens and adults. the way they said it was like they were completely clueless to what this was even though they literally sang the song in the 'sons of garmadon' and i'm just like bruuuuuuuuh, first you can't remember air jitsu and now you can't remember that time you were partying! I'm still mad that they stopped using air jitsu passed season 6. I agree and your video is great! Keep up the good work!
The ending was actually scrapped and what we got was something added at the last minute. The original ending would be that The Overlord murdered Wu in their fight and his remarkable lines at the end were actually supposed to be his last words before he dies, then in the finale Garmadon was supposed to get killed by The Overlord and Lloyd would murder The Overlord killing him for real and he becomes the final boss of the series mirroring how he was the first villain of season 1, the golden ultra dragon was actually supposed to be the ninja fused together and they’d fight Lloyd and save him as the realm is slowly on the verge of destruction due to The Overlord’s death, not sure how that would be stopped. Also Nya and Harumi weren’t supposed to come back, Lego forced them back and WildBrain intentionally added the possibility of Harumi being in love with Lloyd, Pythor was supposed to be the Vengestone buyer and Nadakhan was supposed to come back instead of Mr. F. The sets were made before those changes so that’s why Lloyd is on the throne and the golden dragon heads have Kai’s Scar, Cole’s lava arm texture, Jay’s freckles, and Zane’s eyes, the sets showed what was supposed to happen but due to LEGO demanding the ending be changed because “it was too scary for kids” and several episodes had to be scrapped we got what we got. It’s really sad honestly.
Good things about Crystallised: -the sets -Mr F is a Tally Hall reference (no I will not elaborate) -Oni Lloyd (not how he was handled in the show tho, that was dookie) -the suits (one of the best suits imo) -this season was so mid it got me into South Park (again, not elaborating) Um idk what else to put
I've really really disliked Crystalized since it released (evidence in the form of a video I made compiling all the dumb parts of Crystalized), but I always liked Part 1 quite a bit. The nuance of the sacrifice was that sometimes there are no good options, and sometimes we have to make sacrifices to save those we love. So treating her sacrifice like some sort of mistake or problem is annoying. They should have at least mourned it more on screen. Dragons Rising showed us that the team can be more interesting if the members are mixed up. So they literally could've done the same thing in Crystalized - Jay is in the lighthouse, Kai should've been off somewhere too, maybe like a Cole-Zane-Pixal team or something like that. Idk, I feel like in retrospect Part 1 could have been a lot better. I should rewatch it... but I don't want to pass out due to idiocy from watching Part 2.........
Well Crystalized was decent in my opinion, I'd give it like a 7.5 What really brought it down to me was Garmadon, He was awful in this season and had some of the worst dialogue I seen for the character, I'd argue his character in Crystalized was worse than Harumi's
