Over the last year or so, I've felt a very strong pull to have my own Ayahuasca experience. Thank you for this presentation. Your description was exactly what I needed to hear and extremely well put :)
We work with Tierra Vida here at SpiritualTravelers and after 3 years (after my first experiences with Ayahuasca) of searching they have felt the best to us. Nice to see a quality movie done about them.
Ignore the ignoble affronts by those who, after watching this eloquent personal insight into the world of Ayahuasca offer naught but criticism of the eloquence in which it is delivered,& take from it the message being offered. Those who merely pick at an offering, which they can either absorbe, or try to fob off laced with the insults weaned from their own insecurities, offer less substance than the message itself. Thanks for this excellent piece of intriguing & personal acount of your experience & journey with this facinating "expander of one's own concience" & a door into that which often is veiled by the futility & emptiness of the life that society & it's ilk expect one to persue.
Woah. That was cool. Anyway, I'm going to this retreat in February, next month. I'm scared about where I'll stay, but also I want to travel around South America a bit. Maybe go to Brazil... What do you think about a skinny white 20 year old travelling alone in Argentina, Peru, Brazil etc? I'm so scared.
mikebiketrike Be more scared of the human beings than the "sacred plants". Ask your Spirit to guide you with both "trips" you will be undertaking & LISTEN when they speak to you. I wish you well in this endeavour.
What a magnificent exploration into the deepest recesses of the soul. Beautifully expressed, vividly filmed, you get a feeling of other-dimensionality by simply being a spectator to his metaphysical, existential adventures....loved it very, very much, thank you for sharing this.
Alexander Ward - Thank you for not showing night-vision images of the ceremony itself. Too many videos focus on grainy images of the purging process. Your video is the greatest of its type on the topic of Ayahuasca. Best of luck to you and I look forward to visiting this wonderful place.
i dont fully agree that if you are sad and addicted to drugs that it will present itself in the vision, because i was both addicted and going through a lot of sadness and grief when I undertook the journeys wth ayahuasca and ive done a total of 11. My journeys were always incredibly full of beauty, light, spirituality (I didnt practice much prayer and meditation either) and especially LOVE. It was always overwhelming but also incredibly gentle and loving too. The spirit of Ayahuasca is undoubtedly female and maternal.
This is a very good video Alex, well done. Me and my wife also had the time of our lives at Tierra Vida, and were blessed by the staff, curanderos and Mother Ayahuasca. To an extent there's no point in even talking about it; that's even completely besides the point. But I appreciate that we humans seems to have a strong urge to communicate, and it's important that we do so that people can get some idea of what Ayahuasca is. People just need to be pointed in the direction
Thanks you for this wonderful video. Ayahuasca accounts for the most sacred, memorable, insightful, loving and mind/soul expanding experiences I have had in my life, and as such I consider it as a truely divine gift for mankind. Your integrity shines throughout this documentary. Respect!
Brill video mate, the presentation was excellent. One question, do you know where I could find the instrumental for Fossil Club - I'm Trying. You seem to have it in the video or did you need to edit it?
Alexander Whisper Ward! I often wonder what the world would be like if we had schools for this stuff . Instead of the rav experience i had. The lesson only come with proper setting {After the rav in the woods on the forest floor letting the mushroom connect you to your mother} There should be a "drug"{psychedelics} center for learning and exploration. Seems the jungle has one.
Thank you so much for explaining Ayahuasca is such an elegant way. Im about to embark on going to Peru to open my own Ayahuasca retreat and have use your video to explain it to many of my friends. Thanks again Love and light. Brett
Inspiring. Great voice too. I have heard that the herbs can be taken in capsules, which if done properly bypasses not only the putrid taste but the purging as well. Thanks for the great message.
Do not worry, and have no fear, if you go to the right place everything will go right. The Spirit of Ayahuasca is the spirit of sharing, and the healers who will be there to help you will not dilute it in any way simply out of respect for their most holy medicine. God Bless and go for it. Love, light and peace
Thanks Nicole. I'm gonna keep researching this. I find it very inviting. I have to say that I've been watching lots of vids from a different temple . I like what I see . I'm looking for a standard in the way it's done. I haven't seen that yet. Everyone has a different way of administering the medicine. Thats whats keeping me from jumping on a plane and trying it. One place also has a day of mescaline use. I don't find that a good practice and don't want any part of that. So the search continues
The facilators at Tierra Vida are amazing and after not feeling any effect on my first ceremony, they ensured that all measures were taken for the next time. On the second ceremony, we were prepared and was offered additional doses from another batch of the medicine. By the end of my stay, I had experienced much more than I could have expected. I hope this helps you.
I have always wanted to experience the journey of Ayahuasca, but I've had such negative depression for so long that i'm sort of afraid with all of it, especially my younger years, to be brought to light
Thanks David. It was more due to the fact I think some things are too personal to show on film. Showing someone deep in Ayahuasca experience, purging their problems is one of those things. It's also very much an 'inner-journey', and showing the outward purging does not explain that journey.
I am with Tierra Vida. I can say we have very strong brew... not diluted in anyway. We would love for you to come visit us!! This experience will change your look at the yourself in the world. Hope you can make it!!
This documentary was very well done, both complement the rigid non believer of out of mind possibilities but as well as those who may already have heard and know about ayahuasca. Great Upload, thank you for sharing
Wonderful piece of art and a pleasure to watch. This is a great representation of what one will come to experience at Tierra Vida. 'Train by day, Joe Rogan podcast by night, all day!'
No wonder Graham Hancock has endorsed this.. A brilliant and beautiful account of the whole Ayahuasca experience and yes, as you stated, deeply personal but i have seen a lot of films about it and this is by far the most insightful. Thank you Alexander..Found you from LondonRealTV greaat interview.
Most helpful and informative, thank you for sharing! I've heard a lot about the powers of Ayahuasca, I feel the plant is calling me but don't know where or how to begin.....
Alex, good for you and for Human kind, because we are searching and gradually finding our identities and roll in our universe. I am probably double your age and live in one very mystical and folkloric country in Latin america. One suggestion here for you is please keep on searching until you find God as a friend, pray and learn to be in permanent touch with him, and listen in silence what he has to teach you. We are here to learn who we are, where we are and who God is. Greetings.
A very eloquent account of such an extraordinary experience. I hope that more research will be undertaken by science to explore the healing potential of Ayahuasca, to use it to investigate the nature of consciousness and to gain insight into the problems we have within our impoverished society today.
I am interested in going there for my vacation this year. I am a musician also in search of inspiration. My only fear is that the brew has been perhaps diluted for tourists. I don't have any reason to think this but I suppose I just want to make sure I'm getting the full experience. Can anyone comment on this? Thanks!
My only psychedelic experience thus far is a mushroom trip I took 4 weeks ago on 3.5 grams. The most incredible experience I've ever had, having the distinct feeling/realization that underlying everything, at a deeper and truer level of reality, lies an unending fabric of empathy, oneness with all things. Everytime Alex refers to exploring one's own mind as the essence of the aya trip - it seems in total contradiction to this empathetic fabric that penetrates all of reality OUTSIDE your mind...
Nicole...Have you been there? What happened to you there and what part of your mind did you loose or forget? I'm looking at all the pros and conns so I'd like to here more from you on this .
I think traditionally they don't drink ayahuasca unless the healer/shaman recommends it. Other Worlds was filmed not too long ago. I'm sure there are exceptions though because I remember watching an episode of Bruce Parry in the Amazon wherein he visits a tribe whose tradition (I'm assuming it's not a recent thing) is to drink litres of the brew followed by litres of water, and they all do this, the shaman just holds the cup while they drink.
From my understanding of the situation, ayahuasca was never really used by patients or everyday people, even in the indigenous tribes in Peru and other places, most of the time it was just the shaman who took the brew and the patient was sober while the shaman healed them or did other divining work. The gingos and westerners created the situation where one can go to peru to drink yaje, if anything, the shaman is pressured to have a strong brew because westerners don't have enough patience.
It's one of those things until you go into an Ayahuasca Journey it's hard to describe it's amazing and enlightening I believe in this medicine in every way.
Wow, great video! Clear account of what sounds like an amazing experience. Aubrey Marcus talked about his experience on the Joe Rogan podcast that was quite different but seemed equally profound.
What does one do if you cannot AFFORD to fly to the jungle to experience Ayahuasca? Which I desperately need. And I don't have a clue how to even begin to acquire DMT. Plus I'm chicken shit. lol ex military and all. But I know I'm meant to experience it. It's frustrating.
Magic Mushrooms. Relatively easy to come by in the form of grown in a growkit, which you can order online. The active substance in those mushrooms is very related to Ayahuasca/DMT. I don't claim that it gives the same experience as those two, but it definitely connects you to nature and your inner true self. Some people also just meditate to do the same. Just remember that you don't have to fly to Peru and spend thousands of dollars/pounds/euro's, to have a spiritual experience. I haven't done Ayahuasca/DMT myself, so i cannot personally compare them, but many sources say the experiences are very similar and i am in a position to say that the mushroom experience shouldn't be underestimated. As McKenna says, it WILL deliver. Really, do your homework on it first (if you haven't already done that). Start with a low dosage and work your way up. Also, there are Ayahuasca ceremonies being done outside the jungle. For example here, in the Netherlands. You might want to check that out.
Oh you are awesome. Finally a sincere response from someone! Thank you so much. I have watched a few of McKenna's speeches, but not nearly enough. I have done quite a bit of research on Ayahuasca and now Ibogaine, but not quite as much on mushrooms--a little but not a lot. I will look into the ceremonies done outside of the jungle. I will also do some research on the mushrooms. You say you can order a kit online? Wow! I'll look into that as well, just not sure how safe it is. Like I said, I'm prior active duty military and technically I'm still in (inactive reserve, basically on standby if we happen to "go to war". :/ holy crap I can't wait to be DONE) so I'm still a little nervous about these sorts of things until I'm completely through and can't get in trouble with them at least. haha But anyway, I really appreciate your suggestions and comment and will do some more research. Have a wonderful day "Sydebern"! LOVE the name by the way! :)
Stacey Johnson You're welcome. :) Like you say, research is the key. These are no party drugs (but you know that already). They will bring out your inner "demons", they will make you face yourself, but will also show you the true beauty of and connection with nature. I don't know where you live, but here in the Netherlands they are legal to grow at home (not to buy in a shop, but you know the 'rules' are ridiculous sometimes). Still, this is your mind to explore. Should you really let some men in suits decide what you should take or not... Mushrooms are very safe, their toxicity is so that you can eat over 1 kilo without risk of dying. Nobody can eat 1 kilo's of mushrooms, before passing out ;) But don't take my word for it, research it for yourself. It's good to go in a bit nervous/afraid. If you're not, you will quickly learn that these substances demand respect. The most ego-driven unafraid people will have the hardest times coming to terms with these substances. In a way you have an advantage if you are nervous/afraid, because this shows respect. On a sufficient dose, you will quickly learn, that everything you should be afraid of, is in yourself anyway. When you realise that for yourself, being afraid is a choice. But go in easy at first, become familiar with the experience at low dosages. Do your research about what really is a low dosage, in what setting you can do it, etc. Good luck and a wonderful day as well!
Scholars have claimed for a time that the wonderment engendered in our early ancestors was seeded by the exposure to mystical experiences. This hypothesis is very compelling, for our early ancestors not only witnessed natural Earth changes, and cosmic events, but sometimes ingested psychotropic substances, and also experienced Lucid Dreaming. If the mysteries surrounding our early societal developments are ever to be understood, there must be a direct reversion to the past, to the Shamanic past.
Hey guerillajazz, well I think you will get more than you bargain for in terms of inspiration! It's great, you will really benefit from it I think. I wouldn't know how diluted the brew is; there is of course water in the mix anyway. My experiences were very powerful and enough to handle, but very intense and overwhelming at times. You indeed get the full experience in all senses at Tierra Vida; incredible shamans, great Ayahuasca, angelic staff, and an absolutely magical environment!
The part where he talks about seeing and talking to parts of himself reminded me of Richard Schwartz's IFS approach in psychology, which also works and acknowledges entities or parts within ones own personality. Anyway, well done video, thanks for uploading :)
Hmm I would personally advise a minimum of three ceremonies. I have encountered the rare chance that people have gotten all they need from one ceremony. But I have found that 3 ceremonies to best. The first is a lighter introductory brew, the second is where you get the most work done, and the third can conclude those lessons learnt. Everyone goes through it at a different pace of course, but if you are going on this path, you may as well try to get the most from it with three ceremonies.
It just a camera persona, kind of like what happens to me when I have to leave an answerphone message which I hate to do, mainly because my carefully drawn diagrams dont seem to get recorded.
5:00 "psilocybin, another dmt containing substance" psilocybin is different from dmt isnt it? Its in the same family called tryptamine, but psilocybin is a molecule by its self, not one that contains dmt. or is dmt the base molecule for psilocybin? All threw my readings about tryptamine i have never seen or heard of that before.
I think he is actually correct, since activity the specific part of the brain is dampened (an area responsible for filtration of information flowing in and out of the frontal cortex) information seems to flow more freely. This makes sense given the nature of the experience itself (people common subjective experiences). Could be an incorrect interpretation, but it seems to be a useful one.
spoken very well......I have watched alot of vid's on the subject and only found a small handful that gave an honest account of the territory that Mother Aya' offers....I found what he said was how I have found the experiences with this medicine...a gift, a frightening, exploritory, honest, healing, the most amazing inspiration creative wise, etc etc
Over the last year or so, I've felt a very strong pull to have my own Ayahuasca experience. Thank you for this presentation. Your description was exactly what I needed to hear and extremely well put :)

I know! I'm insanely stupid.
Best summary I have ever heard/seen. Love it!

Thank you Alexander Ward for sharing this creative and highly inspirational videoclip.
Captivating and beautiful. Bravo to the young man who made this video !
This was a beautiful video. Thank you for posting and fearlessly sharing your experiences. Peace.

A very succint, very important exploration of the much needed interrogation into the heart of an amazing ecosystem, and such, roots of one's mind.
Very well composed mini documentary! Nice Job, I enjoyed it!!!!

Great short film. Thank you for sharing the experience with us.
This is so inspiring. I think I have to look up this place. I would love to try it and do it in this type of environment.
Well done my friend, this video was eloquent and just what I would want to show someone who is curious about working with mother ayahuasca. Namaste :)
This documentary was very well done, both complement the rigid non believer of out of mind possibilities but as well as those who may already have heard and know about ayahuasca. Great Upload, thank you for sharing
Thank you so much, I am intrigued, called to work with this teacher!
Great video, Alexander... very well done.
Wonderful piece of art and a pleasure to watch. This is a great representation of what one will come to experience at Tierra Vida. 'Train by day, Joe Rogan podcast by night, all day!'
If you have no reason to think it, then just stop thinking it, and follow your original plan, as long as you do that, you will continue to grow.

hello would you mind giving us the web address of the ayahuasca retreat. thanks for sharing.
Most helpful and informative, thank you for sharing! I've heard a lot about the powers of Ayahuasca, I feel the plant is calling me but don't know where or how to begin.....
Loved it, really well explained for people who is not familiar with psycodelics
at the first 40 seconds he mentions terence mckenna, alan watts, and who was the 3rd person? i didn't quite catch it.. thanks
thanks for that, where can i find a practitioner who deals only in this subject ?
once again thanks for heads up
Peace
This is fascinating and all new to me, and your commenters are great too. Many thx, Dina.
Alex, good for you and for Human kind, because we are searching and gradually finding our identities and roll in our universe. I am probably double your age and live in one very mystical and folkloric country in Latin america. Amazing video, I thoroughly enjoyed it.
well done video. thank you for sharing your experiences.
I am interested in going there for my vacation this year. I am a musician also in search of inspiration. My only fear is that the brew has been perhaps diluted for tourists. I don't have any reason to think this but I suppose I just want to make sure I'm getting the full experience. Can anyone comment on this? Thanks!
Thanks for sharing this video. i am going to Tierra Vida at the end of June.
truly one of the most life changing, transformational teachings that the soul can embark on.
Thank you for sharing this valuable and useful information.
This is not for me. Yet. But - Alexander's language is so beautiful, you just can't stop listen to him!
You're right. It's not at all important it's the ayahuasca journey that's important.
Beautiful Video. It made me feel more connected just watching it
Nicole...Have you been there? What happened to you there and what part of your mind did you loose or forget? I'm looking at all the pros and conns so I'd like to here more from you on this .
Beautiful piece of film. Loved it. Thanks :)
You got the most pedagogic voice, (sounds better in swedish) but still. Like the message mate. Have a fantastic day.
I did it myself and it was absolutely amazing. I highly recommend it for all.
AMAZING video Alexander! I also love your voice. Very soothin :)
I also am interested to making a visit to Tierra Vida but traveling makes me uneasy. Is there a way someone can pick me up from the air port?
second comment would be to ask where can i get meself some of this beautiful Ayahuasca ?
From my understanding of the situation, ayahuasca was never really used by patients or everyday people, even in the indigenous tribes in Peru and other places, most of the time it was just the shaman who took the brew and the patient was sober while the shaman healed them or did other divining work. The gingos and westerners created the situation where one can go to peru to drink yaje, if anything, the shaman is pressured to have a strong brew because westerners don't have enough patience.
It's a powerful teacher. You don't want to "get yourself" some, but find practitioners who you trust fully.
It's one of those things until you go into an Ayahuasca Journey it's hard to describe it's amazing and enlightening I believe in this medicine in every way.
I will come and visit sometime! This is a must do for me at least once in my life!
Isn't it funny, I really enjoy the way this man speaks! And yes indeed, a beautiful well-made video :>
Wow, great video! Clear account of what sounds like an amazing experience. Aubrey Marcus talked about his experience on the Joe Rogan podcast that was quite different but seemed equally profound.

lol did that offend you?
My thoughts told me to eat healthy, and it told me what really matters, like the important things in life that I should focus on.

Awesome!Thank you for the vid!
Going there in October! Can't wait!!
You Sir are a breath of fresh air !!!
Beautiful. Thank you for sharing.
mesmerizing artworks
Great video, thank you!
I'm headed to peru at the end of the month to experience a 9 day retreat for the first time.
5:00 "psilocybin, another dmt containing substance" psilocybin is different from dmt isnt it? Its in the same family called tryptamine, but psilocybin is a molecule by its self, not one that contains dmt. or is dmt the base molecule for psilocybin? All threw my readings about tryptamine i have never seen or heard of that before.
simply beautiful brother!.. thank you for sharing:)
Forget the mirror, forget what you know, forget what you think, leave your words and ideas behind, it makes the passage a little bit easier.
Thank you soo much! God bless you!
I have noticed that Tierra Vida holds multiple ceremonies while you stay. From what I thought I knew about ayahuasca one would be enough for a year!
nice young voice. thank for this.
I can't wait to go and experience this
me too
"Far more spiritual than aetheism would ever admit, and far more peculiar than religion would ever allow" So true.
Sweet video!
Hey can someone please tell me the name of the song at 1:55?
Thanks for sharing your journey.
