Here's the problem with Dr. Zubrin's dream. If "the powers that be" are foolish enough to send a manned mission to Mars, it will end up being a suicide mission. The risks are enormous and it's just a matter of time till something goes wrong. Unfortunately, it will be something that will cause the fatality of one or more of the crew. Fact of the matter is, humans were made to live on Earth and NOT on another planet. It sounds wonderful but not realistic in any sense whatsoever.
