I was asked by several people if I could also record Book 1, and I decided that I would do so after finishing Book 2. Enjoy!
My Journey Back. I moved to NYC five years ago to start my career as a lawyer, and unfortunately, violin and viola took a backseat. While I still love and enjoy playing, I am severely out of shape! I am taking a step back and playing many of the etudes and pieces that I first practiced decades ago (and have taught many times since) in an attempt to rebuild the technique that I once had. My goal is to practice at least 15 minutes a day - if not, much more - and post my progress here.
I have a twin brother, Andrew, who plays cello, and he has a channel at thecelloboy / thecelloboy
Unfortunately, we live a country apart from each other, but we still want to play with each other! We are starting a separate channel where we post videos of us playing together as well as some non-classical pieces. We're the Tutti Twins! Please subscribe and watch our videos! / @tuttitwins5866
Every well controlled pace. Bow is stunning. I could listen to this for 100000+times😂🎉❤
Thank you!
Now I can't decide which I like better - your viola or your violin solo. Both exquisite and I could listen to them 100+ times!
Captivating, haunting - superbly played. I now have a new earworm to delight me.... Thanks from a very Senior Adult beginner.
Thank you!
THANK YOU!!!
Liking this amped up version! Great quick, light tempo
Your bow control is stunning!!
Thank you!
Pretty good
wow. just wow
I hope that's a good wow!
Bravo!
Thanks!
Awesome 😎 Also, do make a video about harmonics.
Thanks! I'm keeping my hat out of teaching videos, but there are lots of great ones that talk about harmonics!
So good! My daughter play this song much better now! Thanks!
You're welcome!
How do you do your trills that well? Do you have any tricks for that?
Lots of practice! Just start slowly and then faster and faster to build up the finger endurance.
Please share with your subscribers (if you haven't recently) your age when your began to play and were recognized to have such talent. Also, what sort of instruction? A conservatory, etc? Those of us that are just beginning take great inspiration in such musical experiences, speaking for myself. As for this particular piece, I have just been introduced to this volume 1 by Barber and view this piece far more advanced (read intimidating!) than my first selection - Bach's Marche. Surely, I need to practice more than 15" a day to achieve even modest mastery at my stage of development. Perhaps it's just a refresher for you since your muscle memory and previous years of practice simply need a tweak???
I started on violin when I was 9, but switched to viola when I was 15. I studied viola in college, and didn't play much violin again until I started private teaching. I stopped playing once I started to practice as an attorney, but I have tried to get a lot of my chops back. I obviously cannot practice all that much, but I try my best!
We meet again.
When did we meet the first time?
@@bclement85 Musette. Still haven't mastered it, but my teacher told me to take a break.
Sometimes a break helps us rest!
I always think this piece is Kreisler Liebesleid
It sure does sound similar at the beginning!
bclement85 yep! I played this piece before, very nice
Nice! I had played Liebesleid, but never this piece.
What is Kreisler liebesleid? I still play wolf fart.
It is another piece.
Nice man, I am a violinists myself, but I dont play that good. How do you play this good?
Practice! But I still have a long way to go!
Thank you

@@bclement85 Nice! I’m applying for symphony and I have to play this piece
