14:33 if you had talked to Starlow before going to Minmin Islet she says that she would rather have Snoutlet guide you around because she doesn't know the new world at all
Ah, so the best part is finally here. I was half expecting her to tag along in Mario's cap because it'd be funny to have a magical being cozily sitting in each bro's cap, but it makes sense that she'd let someone more familiar with this world guide the Bros around. Will say, though, I was not expecting her to have only text blips. She did have a rather high pitched voice in BiS and subsequent games, so it's strange they didn't try to find a way to do that again. It feels pretty jarring that they didn't even give her that and yet everyone else around has custom text blips sounding more-or-less like their voices (for better or worse. I'm looking at you, Toads).
Starlow’s “voice” was actually a lower, more soothing pitch in Dream Team and Paper Jam. Superstar Saga DX had her use the generic “light” textbox sound, and BiS DX reverted to the one used in her first appearance.
Poor Luigi just can't catch a break from Starlow dunking on him, can he? To be fair, it's not as bad as in Paper Jam. She does mellow out later, so it's kinda of a redemption for her.
10:43 - I see the sudden general disdain towards TotK is still growing more and more prevalent across the Interwebs as the days go by. I swear, I genuinely can't recall the last time I saw that game get mentioned in a _positive_ way-without actively looking for it, I mean. Crazy stuff.
It is, genuinely, the game I think I was most disappointed by, ever. I did try liking it, but upon watching someone else play it live... there's just really nothing to look forward to in that game.
@@Skawo That's about the gist of how the tamest current detractors describe their grievances, yes. I myself can't say I understand the sentiment, as I ended up having just as much fun re-exploring this familiar Hyrule as I did discovering it in BotW. But that hardly matters in the face of the overall increasingly more vitriolic rants I keep coming across as I go about my days as normally as ever. Give it a couple more months, and TotK might genuinely have to fear reaching the dreaded "we don't talk about that thing" status. And then you realize nobody even seems to be talking about Echoes of Wisdom anymore, like _that_ game just kinda came and went without leaving anything all that memorable behind. And you start thinking the Zelda series might just be in a bit of a rough spot right now...
@@ShycoWar Both TOTK and Echoes sold well and got great reviews. I wouldn't put any stock into what a few grumpy people on the internet have to say. @@FreezerKing My original point was literally that these so-called "few grumpy people" are rather clearly growing more numerous as time goes by, though. This may just be from personal experience, but I have very clearly perceived a stark increase in widespread negativity towards TotK over the months. The things you come across in passing as you just go about your online business are usually a fairly good indication of how something is valued. Games like Ocarina of Time will almost always be mentioned solely to sing its praises, with the occasional unpopular detractor here and there. More polarizing products like Skyward Sword lead to debates where positive and negative outlooks are shared in roughly equal measures, while something like the CD-I games will only ever be brought up to be ridiculed. And as things stand-again, without consciously looking for specific "echo chambers"-it appears to me that TotK has been leaning more and more towards the negative side of things.
I don't know if this comment appeared on the last video as intended but, are you starting to enjoy the game a bit more now? This is around the time when the game began picking up for me. You might hate the Merrygo Island gimmick (won't spoil what it is though) but otherwise has it gotten a bit better at least?
and then the war of starlow enjoyers and starlow haters began.
As a neutral starlow person I can confirm we don't exist
-refers to Mario and Luigi by their names
-switches to calling Luigi Mario's brother
-returns to calling them by their names
-refuses to elaborate
-unfortunately does not leave
10:22 Or a character from a niche fighting game using unique controls that becomes popular enough to be included a massive crossover fighting game.
14:33 if you had talked to Starlow before going to Minmin Islet she says that she would rather have Snoutlet guide you around because she doesn't know the new world at all
Dream Team DID have Dreambert to help out with ancient Pi’illo Island stuff and the Dream World.
@@paperluigi6132 weirdly enough, I found Dreambert to weirdly quiet, might just be me though
3:40 good thing starlow was talking with this Luigi, not the other Luigi
Poor Luigi. Can’t seem to escape the disrespect from Starlow even after so many years.

10:27 Minmin's one of my cat's nicknames. Her name's Minnie but she usually gets called a bunch of nicknames (the most recent is probably Pissbaby)
...Did Starlow go from obsessing over Mario to obsessing over Peach? "Whoa, I didn't know she was bisexual!", etc.
Oh no... *She's* back! BOARD UP THE WINDOWS, LOCK YOUR DOORS, HIDE AS STARLOW HAS RETURNED!!!
Poor Luigi just can't catch a break from Starlow dunking on him, can he?

2:20 OH GOD SHE'S BACK!!!!

It is also the name of the character from Arms, or more well-known, the annoying girl with the long arms from Super Smash Bros Ultimate.
Why did they bring back Starlow? Bring back my goat Stuffwell from Partners in Time.
And that’s it. Starlow is now the unofficial mascot of the Mario & Luigi series. Had PiT been remade, they would’ve found someway to fit her in.
13:04 if only god said "SPEED Up+" and not "Quick Leveling" instead
totally not someones fault for that goof, no sirrie!
to be perfectly fair, mario and luigi had no idea other people than them were teleported to concordia
11:14 snoutlet did announce who mario and luigi were to zokket before he hightailed it before the battle against ten
So that's why IGN gave it a 5/10

Man, IGN was right all along, Starlow makes this game a 5/10.
Finally the best character is here, game is instant 10/10
Starlow is like a mini Karen
2:45 No, Bowser’s stomach
Hey I bet you already know this but to move use the L Stick and to jump press the A Button
Oh and also Starlow shows up in this game at some point
HOLY SHIT STARLOW

Yes, same for me. The game definitely picked up a bit around this point.
Starlow is just useless in this game. She legitimately does nothing but be there for nostalgia purposes. Not that I want her being a partner again
