    I can't tell you how much I enjoy watching actual live performances of these effects. So much better than trailers to decide how to implement for ones own use.

    As Craig said, "Pop Hayden's moves are a little more complicated, but if you learn it and do it like Pop, it is in my opinion the best routine ever. The magic, the gags and the use of the volunteer makes it so much fun for everyone. Pop's attention to detail in teaching you is easy to follow. You won't be disappointed. And, on his site the instant download is only $15.00 U.S. dollars.
    I love the Suit jacket escape. I can tell you've been doing that a long time... Lot's of built in laughs and perfectly timed. Thanx Craig.

    Coming up in magic 55 years ago, I have seen many linking rings routines. As a young magician, like most, this illusion captured my interest.
    When I finally bought a set of Linking Rings, from the brick and mortar magic shop back in the day, (which I do miss ,) I never ever was able to perform it with justice.
    But, I ended up buying a larger set of Linking Rings sometime later.
    I was hopeful to learn to do the Linking Rings with pro skill.
    I got lots of documents on the illusion and tried to give the illusion it's just cause.
    Alas, my Linking Rings sat forming up the powdery residue of dust!
    But, I remained determined to become a Linking Rings man.
    This story ends happily, because to this day, 55 years later, I finally understand the handling and routing of this classic .
    I tell this story because no matter how long it may take you to really do what you want to do. Never give up!

    Absolutely Wonderful!!! Thank you so much there was 2 routines I was leaning toward, and you closed the deal on them for me! Just ordered them! Wow what you are doing for magic is Great. BTW look out your son will be surpassing you soon. But that's a good thing he seems to be a great young man which we need more of. Thanks again.

    I've always closed with linking rings although I was chatted for that at one time because they thought it was not a good closing trick I differ I thought it was a great closing trick I use Al Schneider's routine with my own pattern and my own sort of touches to it and it goes over really well so I'm so happy to hear a professional indicate linking rings is a good closer

    • @bmac63
      @bmac63 Год назад

      Fabulous closing effect, I sometimes use this as a closer but more as an opening with a music backing to fast swing music...always gets a great ovation..use it as a closer if that suits your show..its a classic

    Awesome video Craig! Thanks so much for putting this wonderful video together. I don't know how you find the time. I'm struggling to find the time to watch your videos and each time I do I am so pleased I did. Each one is a wealth of knowledge and time well invested. You are so helpful and your efforts are very much appreciated. Looking forward to a time when we can get back to attending conventions so I can thank you in person. I too am a big fan of Bill Abbott. I met him over 20 years ago at a magic camp in Northern Ontario and he was so generous with his time and so willing to help.
    Stay well!

    I know the destination box isn’t available now but I think it would be very simple to build one. If it works the way I believe it does then it’s a very simple build if not then I’ve thought up another easier way to do it🤣. Love the comedy throwing the cards over your head. I love suit jacket escape I got that from bill abbott the second I seen the routine. Good idea streamlining cards across that trick drags on. Superfly is great so is the thing

    Hey Craig, I am a massive Scott Alexander fan also, i bought and do his Needles, invisible deck, Superfly, Applejacked, Shoe Business, egg bag and sure shot, Bias pad, etc...
    Did you know Craig about the new upcoming release off Scott Alexander?
    For his 52 birthday next years, his working on a book about himself and his magic.
    Called 52 book and is now on pre-order price
    Thanks for the great video's and advice, as always

    Can you do a show about how you can structure an act or show and make sure that the effects you perform aren’t similar? Sometimes I feel like tricks that I like to perform can be boiled down to predicting something a spectator did or thought of. Can you talk about avoiding that or routining it to make it not similar?

    • @kieranshepherd6715
      @kieranshepherd6715 3 года назад

      I think similar enough to link is a good thing. Craig helped me alot with this and for example a coins across works well with double X because both are about something moving but different enough that you can link them without it being the same.

    Craig you looked like Eric Morcombe in that handcuff escape - It would be good to have you as a guest spot for some of my bigger corporate clients Tommy and Eric were always trying to out do each other

    • @magic-tv
      @magic-tv  3 года назад +1

      I actually based my character in the early days on Eric Morecambe. I even considered at one point doing a Morecambe and Wise tribute show.
      The best quotes I ever got for my act was off the BBC when they said Craig Petty and slightly unusual will like Morecambe and Wise performing the illusions of David Copperfield

    Mr. Craig Petty.... it is a refreshing look at the rings... but..... the rings in general is a weak trick. My opinion is worth about as much as a lil frog turd but your performance was well constructed! 👏
